Chapter 297: 297: How did it end...?

"You’re lying to me... lies..." he only muttered to himself as tears ran down his eyes. The memories of him and Mr. Albert all came like weapons to him, killing him slowly in the moment.

"Stop lying to yourself. That’s the truth. He never liked us. He never cared for us. He used us and dumped us. And he left you with a curse to ruin you. Whose fault is it now?" He laughed.

Lyeian lay there without words. Tears streamed down his eyes. At the moment he felt something in him shatter. Betrayed and ruined. The sting of truth was the last straw.

And at that moment, what he felt was something beyond anger. He had gone insane with fury. He hated everything at the moment.

Kyle laughed for a while before he went down on his knees and stared into Lyeian’s eyes. They were purple.

"I hate you, you know that right?" Kyle asked. "Why did you have to get it? If I can’t get the power, what is the point of it existing? Huh? I hate that. I hate you. I hate everything!"

Lyeian snapped immediately as a purple light sparked from him and blasted Kyle away. He fell backwards in pain before he struggled back to his feet, laughing.

"So you’re making use of your powers against me now? How impressive." He stared at Kyle. "You’re showing off."

Lyeian slowly got up to his feet and glared at him. "You monster... you deserve something worse than death."

Kyle smiled. "It’s been five years already... You still hate me like always." He scoffed. "Go ahead then. Kill me. End me already since it’s all useless—"

Before he could finish his words, Lyeian let out a loud scream accompanied by a bright purple light. A massive wave blew through him and blasted everything around him off into the distance.

The energy from him had cleared the whole forest there and everything in it. Everywhere was brushed off into dust...

And when the wave cleared, Lyeian and Kyle were nowhere to be seen.

Eden flipped open his eyes as he felt a wild rush of pain crash into his head.

He was still in the water and he felt heavy. He couldn’t speak and couldn’t even move properly. He ran his eyes around the water as bubbles flushed from his mouth.

The memories were still vivid in his head, but he brushed past the thought of it all while he struggled to get out of the water.

Eden began swimming upwards as much as he could. He knew he wasn’t a good swimmer, but he tried, and he guessed the gods were on his side because he felt himself being pushed up as well.

Soon, he was out of the water.

His whole body was drenched as he crawled out of the pond. He took a deep breath in and out while he got out, sitting on the floor while he looked around.

He was still in the place. The place that now seemed more familiar than ever. The place that gave him chills. A place that now scared him. The Soul Mountain.

"You’re back," Lenny rushed to his side. He was in his cat form. "What happened?"

Eden said nothing; he looked around while he caught his breath. And then he coughed and cleared his throat. "That was crazy..."

"Your..." Lenny shuddered. He was staring at Eden’s hair now. "What’s wrong with your hair... and eyes..."

Eden felt his hair. "Huh? What’s wrong with them?" Eden stared into the pond but couldn’t see his reflection at all. "What happened?" He turned to Lenny.

"Your hair is white. And your eyes are purple..." he explained.

"Huh????" Eden almost panicked. "How’s that possible? What happened? It’s not like I dyed my hair while there or something."

"I think you changed after obtaining your full power. Now you’re the Wizard of El, so you took his hair and eyes. I guess."

Eden ran a hand through his hair. "Gosh, why aren’t there mirrors here. I want to see too... I bet it doesn’t look fashionable. It never does!" He panicked as he ran a hand through his eyes as well.

"Calm down, it actually looks good on you," Lenny said. "So tell me. How do you feel now?"

Eden paused and ran a hand through his wet body. "I feel good..." 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"Don’t you feel complete? Like powerful and all? Something like that?" Lenny inquired.

Eden nodded. "Sure... I do feel like that too. I feel complete."

"Try using your powers," Lenny instructed.

"Oh." Eden nodded as he stared at his palms. "Let’s see..."

Eden wanted to make a mirror appear, and so he waved his hands into thin air. Purple smoke flushed and a mirror appeared.

Eden smiled, impressed. "It worked without me messing up." He got up and walked up to the full-length mirror. He looked at himself. His silver-like hair and purple eyes.

They looked majestic on him. He couldn’t help but feel his hair for a while. "It actually looks good. I guess the Wizard of El does have some taste..."

"Forget about that now. First of all, what memories did you uncover about the Wizard of El?"

As Lenny asked him, Eden paused. The awful memories came back to him as he shook his head. He didn’t wish to think about it, at least not for now.

"Let’s get out of here first, then we’ll talk," he said as he looked around the mountain top that now gave him chills.

"Oh. Okay then. Let’s go." And so the two of them headed out. They found their way through. And with Lenny’s guidance, they found another tree which opened a portal for them.

Lenny was the first to go through the portal. And before Eden went through it, he paused for a while.

Eden turned and took another glimpse of the Soul Mountain as shivers went down his spine.

If one thing was for sure, it was that he could feel all Lyeian went through in his veins. As though he was the one who went through it. And he never wanted to set his feet on this spot anymore.
