Chapter 288: 288: Journey Ahead

Eden had woken up to Lenny’s message that morning.

It was a message that rang through his mind while he was partially asleep.

Lenny had informed him that he felt where his powers were. He told him that he could sense where he could find his powers.

He could sense where his core was. The core of the wizard of EL. One that could unlock his powers and potentially some memories.

Lenny had told him that he could sense it, and they needed to leave and get there immediately.

"So you should go back quickly. I can’t go back with you," Eden said to Elvis with a soft smile.

Elvis hesitated, staring at him. "But where to...? Why can’t you come back with me...? Are you perhaps leaving me like that..?"

Eden smiled as he said, "I’m not leaving forever. I’m just going to get something. And I promise when I’m done, I’ll come back to meet you at the palace. Okay?"

"But... Can I come with you, maybe? Then when you’re done we can head back?" Elvis requested.

"Is it just me, or did you get more clingy?" Eden stared at him. "Don’t worry, just head back and stay with your mum. She might play strong, but she actually needs you. So go and be with her in this crucial moment, okay?"

"As for me, it’s something I have to do alone. I’ll make sure to return to you as soon as I can," he said with a smile.

Elvis stared at him for a while without speaking. Eden walked up to him and knelt down before him. He pressed his lips against his cheek in a soft kiss and then stared into Elvis’s eyes.

"I’ll be back," he said.

Elvis slowly nodded as Eden added, "And don’t get hard; I don’t have time to service you now." He teased as he got up to his feet and turned.

"Make sure you return. I’ll be waiting," Elvis said.

"Don’t worry. I will."

And so the two of them got ready that morning. Washed up by the riverside and dressed. And after saying their reluctant goodbyes, the two parted ways.

They were soon out of sight as Eden journeyed deep into the woods with Lenny sitting on his shoulder.

"Argh, you two were wild last night. I didn’t even know when to return without meeting you two getting freaky. I had to sleep outside," Lenny snapped.

Eden smiled. "You’re still a kid; you should stay away."

Lenny rolled his eyes. "Whatever."

"So which path do we take?"

"Here," Lenny pointed his paws in a direction after his eyes went purple. And they continued moving.

"Do you really think we’ll find something this time?" Eden asked on their way. "I’m getting nervous as to what we’ll discover."

"Don’t worry, I’m sure this time. I had the vision of it, and I think it’s the right time for it," Lenny explained. "So we’ll find your powers, and you’ll become a full wizard."

"What about going back home? Will it also have answers to that?" Eden inquired.

Lenny shrugged. "I’m not sure about that. I’m only certain about finding the core to your full powers. And you will also get to see a snippet of the wizard of EL or something. Maybe his memory or something?"

Lenny continued, "I think that way you’ll be able to understand this world better. Who the wizard of EL is, why he’s like that, what he wants and stuff. And who knows? You might also find answers for yourself as to how to get back."

Eden slowly nodded. "Makes sense."

They were quiet as they moved for a while.

"I don’t know, but I’m actually nervous about getting to know about the wizard of EL. The book never said anything about him. He was more like a third-rate villain who died earlier. He didn’t have much depth."

Eden continued, "But now we’re going to unravel something about him. I’m nervous as to how his story would affect the general plot and all. I’m nervous as to what really happened to him and if he was actually a victim or just evil..."

"You want him to be a victim so you don’t end up becoming pure evil, huh?" Lenny asked.

Eden shrugged. "I don’t know. Maybe. I want him to have more depth and not just that he became evil like that."

"We’ll have to see. The story never revealed anything. And the book is still ongoing too. So we don’t even know anything about the main villains of the book, so we’ll have to find out through the wizard of EL somehow."

Eden slowly nodded. "I guess so." He stared at his palms. "I’ll be getting more answers on many things. I wonder if I’ll change if I get back the powers... What if the real wizard of EL returns?"

"Then what will happen to you?" Lenny asked.

Eden shrugged. "I don’t know." He kept staring at his palms. "And earlier when I got the powers from Lysander and used them... I actually felt odd."

"Odd? How?" Lenny inquired.

"Like someone else..." Eden sighed as he shook his head. "Never mind, though. Let’s just focus on finding out more about the wizard of EL. His powers and his story. And maybe I’ll get more answers."

Lenny slowly nodded. "Okay, then... If you say so."

They continued moving through the woods, quiet most of the time.

It was a long journey navigating through the thick woods, finding routes that led to where Lenny guided them. They had ended up almost taking the same path a couple of times.

Or similar paths.

It was all mysterious at some point, as though some paths they were taking didn’t even exist. As though these paths kept shifting to somewhere else to seem identical or something. As though it wanted to confuse them.

It was a strange journey, but they kept moving. And when evening had arrived, they finally arrived at their destination.
