For several weeks, Julian started a business as a babysitter in the neighborhood where he currently lives. Some people used his services for just a few hours, to look after their children while they were away.

"Oh, you’re Julian? I’ve heard about you from Clara and Sarah. I think I can trust you with my children."

"Of course! I’ll take good care of your children, and you can trust me with everything!" replied Julian. He was happy that his neighbors trusted him after hearing testimonials from Clara and Sarah.

Many of the parents had reasons to go shopping, some went to the movies or had dinner with their partners. Julian accepted all the requests and took care of their children. He learned to take care of more than one child in the same house.

"It’s tiring and it turns out that taking care of two or three children at once is very difficult. But I also feel happy because it feels like having many younger siblings or friends, only they are easier than me!" he said to Arcane after he finished looking after their neighbors’ children.

Arcane listened to all his husband’s stories attentively and nodded in satisfaction because Julian had learned to handle the children around him.

He himself was amazed at Julian’s ability to handle them all by himself. Because he admitted that he didn’t know if he could do the same thing if he were faced with a situation like that.

"Even though I teach at a school, with 30 students in one class. They are all teenagers and know right from wrong. They don’t cause such a big commotion that it becomes a problem. It’s different with toddlers or young children."

Hearing this, Julian felt happy and proud of himself for being able to do it. Especially if they were to adopt more than one child besides Luna, he would definitely be faced with a situation at home with their adopted children.

Considering that Arcane would definitely be busy at school all day and would only play with the children after teaching.

From his small business as a babysitter, he managed to save money, which he put into his savings account for Luna’s future after he came to their house.

"I’ll prepare a family card for us. I’ll put Luna under Romano’s name, so she’ll have my name after hers. Are you sure about that?" Arcane asked.

"Yes, I’m sure. I don’t mind changing my name to Romano either. That way we’ll have the same family certificate under the same name," Julian replied.

The red haired man nodded in understanding, and he would arrange everything after Luna’s arrival later and write the name Romano on Luna’s new birth certificate.

"You’ve learned a lot about raising a child by taking care of several children as a babysitter. I’m sure you’ll be a great Papa for Luna." Arcane ruffled Julian’s hair, feeling proud of him.

Even Julian’s parents, who had been contacting him frequently lately, were delighted to hear the news.

"We’ll come to your house after Luna arrives there. I want to see my granddaughter right away. I can’t wait to meet her!" said Megara, Julian’s mother.

"I can’t wait to see her either! I’ll bring her lots of toys and sweets!" Louis didn’t want to be outdone by his wife.

They laughed over the phone, eager to welcome the new member of their family.

All preparations had been made. They just had to wait a few more days until the three month mark to receive news from the Adoption Center.

Five days after that conversation, as usual, Arcane went to work and Julian stayed at home. That day, he didn’t get any requests to babysit at his neighbor’s house, so he decided to take a break because babysitting was quite tiring.

"It’s nice that I can relax today. Or maybe I’ll think about what other decorations I can make for Luna’s new room," he muttered as he lay on the sofa in the living room.

His eyes closed for a moment, imagining welcoming Luna into their home.

"I’ll prepare confetti, strawberry cake, and other decorations for a surprise. She must be exhausted after a 3 hour trip here, so she deserves a surprise for that," he said with a smile on his face.

At exactly 2:10 p.m., Julian, who was at home, was busy playing with his cell phone, playing the game he always played every day.

RING RING!

As he was focused, his phone screen suddenly changed to show an incoming call from Donald. Startled, the phone fell onto his face, hitting his nose and forehead.

THUD!

"Fuck! Khh... That hurts—" he groaned in pain while rubbing his forehead. It hurt when the phone hit his face.

His phone kept ringing. He picked it up and wondered why Donald was calling him at this hour. If Donald needed something from Arcane, couldn’t he just talk to him directly?

But since he thought it might be something important, he decided to answer the call. He figured there was no harm in answering it.

"Hello?"

"Hello, Julian?" His voice came through the line. Usually, the middle aged man’s voice sounded so calm and gentle.

But this time, it sounded different than usual. It sounded like someone who was in a hurry about something. He could even hear a little noise on the phone, as if the man was not alone.

"Yes, what is it, Mr. Stamford? Do you need something?" replied Julian, who was worried because Donald’s tone sounded very serious.

He was worried that something had happened to Arcane at school, or maybe the man had fallen ill from exhaustion or something like that?

After a brief pause, Donald continued his sentence by asking, without saying directly why he was calling.

"Can you come to school now?" he asked suddenly.

Julian was a little surprised to hear the question. Why would he come to school when he no longer worked there? But since Donald didn’t say why directly, he chose to ask first. "Huh? Sure. But why are you asking me to come to school now?"

At first, Donald fell silent again, feeling a little hesitant to answer. But it didn’t take long for him to tell him after a clearer commotion was heard from the other end of the phone.

"Actually... There’s a police officer who wants to see you."
