[BL] Mr. Romano Contracted Husband-Chapter 87: Better Not to Do
A few days later, their lives returned to normal. The same was true for Arcane’s life at school. Everything was fine, especially since no one knew that he was the principal’s son.
He and Donald agreed to remain professional and not cause any more trouble at school if anyone found out about their real relationship as father and son.
Despite this, they often spent time together during lunch breaks, sitting at the same table. Some teachers thought they might be starting to become friends, while others didn’t pay much attention to it.
It wasn’t their business to know why Arcane was now so close to him.
Until, when Arcane didn’t have any classes scheduled at that time, he sat on a chair under a tree, enjoying the fresh air that day.
"What should I cook for dinner? Lately, Julian has been saying he wants to eat grilled meat. Maybe I can ask him to buy some meat this afternoon and some potatoes to make French fries," he muttered as he typed a shopping list on her phone to send to his husband.
Just as he was about to put his phone down, a man walked over and sat next to him. Arcane, who noticed his presence, immediately turned his head, only to find that it was the principal, Donald.
"It looks like you’re thinking about something. Is there a problem you’re currently facing?" he asked.
"No, I’m just thinking about the groceries Julian needs to buy this afternoon for dinner."
Actually, there was something Donald wanted to tell him, but he hesitated to say it. However, he felt he had to discuss this with Arcane, so he finally told him about his plan.
"Actually, there are a few things I’ve been thinking about lately. Since I already know you’re my son, I want my family to accept you too. I don’t care what they say about you, but my children, I mean Sofia and Stefano, already like you. They will definitely be happy when they find out that you are their half-brother," he said.
Arcane was a little surprised when he heard the plan. He knew his father only wanted to unite their family, acknowledge Arcane as one of them, and even add his name to the family register.
Maybe this was a good idea, because in the end Arcane could become part of his father’s family. He was also sure Sofia and Stefano would accept him well, because they already liked him.
However, there was only one problem in that family, and that was Alina. It was very clear that Alina didn’t like Arcane, and he was also sure that the woman Alina was talking about was actually Wilona.
He was sure that his father’s wife had seen the photo of Wilona that he always carried with him, and realized that Wilona was his senior at school.
"I don’t mind if you want to introduce me to Sofia and Stefano as your children. But I’m not sure about doing this with Alina. It’s clear that she doesn’t like me," he replied.
He was worried that this would only make Donald’s relationship with Alina worse.
The answer Arcane gave was indeed true. Especially if the identity of Arcane, who was the son of another woman, were to be revealed, it would clearly ruin his reputation.
"It’s better not to do it. But if you want to tell Sofia and Stefano about me, we can do it behind Alina’s back. Although there is a possibility that they might accidentally reveal this," said Arcane again, giving him advice.
He suggested that Donald reconsider his decision. Because there would be many consequences that might happen afterwards. The middle aged man finally agreed and tried to reconsider his decision. He was just worried that Arcane would feel it was unfair not to be legally recognized as his son.
"I want you to have my name too. I want everyone to know who you are, no matter what they think. Like your mother always said, don’t let other people dictate your life," said Donald.
"I don’t need other people’s recognition or the law to prove that I am your son. Having you by my side and treating me like I’m part of your life now is enough for me at the moment." Arcane responded with a smile on his face.
He also admitted that he wanted to keep the name ’Romano’ in his surname. It wasn’t because he didn’t want to have his father’s surname, but because he wanted to keep his mother’s name with him. Donald respected that.
They then talked about Wilona’s family. Donald explained that the Romano family had long since passed away. They had no other children besides Wilona, so after she was kicked out of their house, they lived alone until they eventually died. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"I don’t intend to meet them either. They weren’t good parents. If they were good people and worthy of you meeting them... They shouldn’t have kicked my mother out when they knew they were pregnant with me."
"You’re right. When I tried to come and ask about your mother, they didn’t seem happy and immediately kicked me out," said Donald.
The two of them talked together under a tree while class was in session, thinking that no one would hear their conversation.
But unbeknownst to them, from the window of one of the classroom corridors, a girl was quietly listening to their conversation, and it seemed as if she wanted to take advantage of the situation for her own benefit.
"So it turns out that Mr. Romano is the principal’s son? This will definitely be interesting gossip if people find out about it," she said.
She walked away from the hallway, devising a plan to get what she wanted.
That afternoon, when Donald returned home, he was immediately greeted by his two children who were sitting watching TV. He smiled at how excited they were to see him.
"Dad!" Sofia ran and hugged her father.
"Hey, princess. How was your day at school, hm? Everything okay?" Donald asked, rubbing his daughter’s head.
"Yes! Everything was great! Today I..."
Sofia began to talk about her daily life at school, as did Stefano. They were so excited to tell him about the interesting things they had done.
The middle aged man smiled as he watched them enjoying their days so much. Even though they were born to a woman he didn’t love, he loved both of his children.
’It may sound cruel and unfair to Alina, I understand that. She gave birth to my two children, but my feelings for Wilona remain the same. But...’
He knelt down and hugged his two children. "Daddy loves you both very much."
"We love you too, Daddy!"
’But... Is this my fault? It’s hard to change what’s already happend.’
