[BL] Mr. Romano Contracted Husband-Chapter 75: You Really Look Like Her
A few days later, Arcane received a message from Marshal saying that Ryan had asked him to send a message to Arcane to meet that night at around nine o’clock.
Reading the message, Arcane was certain that this was the night of their plan. Including Ryan’s plan to get rid of him. He discussed this with Julian, and the man agreed to go with Arcane but hide inside his car.
"Alright, I understand. I’ll bring my baseball bat if I need to beat him up later!" Julian said enthusiastically.
"Relax, I’m sure Hans’ connections are enough to silence him. You don’t need to get involved and get yourself into trouble again just for someone like him," said Arcane, rubbing his head.
As usual, in the morning he would go to teach at school, doing his usual activities. At school, he was greeted by Kyle, who had also just arrived and put his bag on the table.
"Good morning, Arcane. You look tired. Are you having problems?" asked the white haired man.
"Not really. I just didn’t get enough sleep because I was preparing new material for today. I forgot to do it yesterday, so I did it last night," replied Arcane, lying because he couldn’t possibly tell the truth about the problems he was currently facing.
Kyle just nodded his head, not daring to ask any further questions because it was obvious that Arcane was starting to distance himself from him. This did make him feel a little lonely and sad, but he had to realize that he could never have him.
Especially after the little warning Julian had given him on New Year’s Eve in front of the cake shop. Julian didn’t give him a direct warning, but the way he hugged Arcane in front of him meant that he was marking his territory.
"Then I have to get ready to teach. You get ready too, the first class will start in 10 minutes," said Arcane, then he began to busy himself preparing the materials he would bring.
Throughout the day, his mind was filled with thoughts of his plan for that night. He was still worried about his friends and Julian because he didn’t want to trouble them. But this was the only way to stop Ryan, because it wasn’t just his problem. He was sure that man had caused many similar problems for other people.
Therefore, in his opinion, Ryan had to be stopped before there were more victims. Especially if Arcane was eliminated, Julian would be in danger.
The math teacher then sat on a chair under a tree, right in the school garden. He needed some fresh air to calm himself down after teaching.
While sitting alone, someone approached him, causing him to turn around and find that it was the principal.
"Mr. Romano, what are you doing here alone? Usually the teachers gather in the staff room for the next lesson," said Donald, then sat down next to him.
"I’m just clearing my head. Sometimes, even though I’m good at math, my head hurts from trying to remember all the formulas," he replied, looking for an excuse even though he never actually felt that way.
Donald nodded his head, agreeing with him because he also taught physics, which also relied on calculations and formulas.
For a moment, they were both silent, lost in their own thoughts. Until Donald spoke again.
"It seems like you have a problem."
Arcane looked at him and shook his head. "It’s nothing. Just something unimportant."
The answer sounded so normal, but Donald laughed. "Nothing is unimportant if you make a face like that. I’m sure you have something on your mind right now."
The red haired man was silent for a moment, before finally admitting that he did indeed have a problem he was facing at the moment. But he didn’t know how to deal with it without involving other people. He just wanted to face it alone if he still could.
"I see. Sometimes it’s okay to ask anyone for help. If we really can’t handle the problem ourselves, then it’s okay to ask someone else for help. There’s nothing wrong with that," Donald replied.
He explained that no matter how strong humans are, in the end they will always need others to help them with their problems. Because if not, it will only destroy them. Just like how he felt right now, seeing how Arcane was not himself.
"Don’t let something destroy you. It’s okay to get help, it means they care and love you very much."
Hearing his father’s answer, Arcane felt his confidence return. It did sound a bit strange that he could finally hear advice from this man. He felt his heart grow warm, even though he didn’t understand why he felt that way about someone who had never even been present in his life until now.
’Is this what they call the bond between a father and son?’ he thought.
Without realizing it, Donald smiled as he continued to look at him. He seemed to be recalling the past, standing under the same tree with someone who resembled Arcane.
And the reason he had finally approached the man was because he had been startled to see Arcane sitting alone under the tree, which reminded him of someone.
"You look so much like her. Could you really be hers?" he muttered.
"Excuse me?" asked Arcane, who hadn’t quite heard what he said.
But again, Donald just laughed and shook his head. He waved his hand dismissively, saying it was nothing.
"I didn’t say anything," he said, patting Arcane on the shoulder. "I don’t know what problems you’re having right now. But I’m sure you can handle it."
"Okay, thank you for your advice."
The middle aged man then stood up from his seat, intending to leave Arcane behind to walk around the hallway checking on the students at school.
Arcane could only stand silently watching his father’s back in front of him. This was the first time he had ever had a conversation with the man outside of their business, such as about work.
’It turns out it’s not bad to talk to him. But soon I will leave this place and no longer think about him.’
Before leaving, Donald stopped in his tracks and turned back to look at Arcane.
"If you need anything, you can ask me for help. You’ve helped my two children. Now it’s my turn to help you."
