[BL] Mr. Romano Contracted Husband-Chapter 37: Different Treatment
One afternoon, Kyle had just finished cooking dinner for his husband and placed it on the table. He sighed softly, as if preparing to wait for Ethan, his husband, to come home.
He didn’t have to wait long. The man finally came home, wearing a blue collared shirt and dirty work gloves. Kyle immediately ran over to him and took his hat and jacket.
"I made soup fish balls today. I hope you like them," he said softly.
"Whatever you cook is fine. As long as I can eat it and it’s not bad, I’ll accept it."
Unlike Kyle, Ethan responded with a cold answer that didn’t sound gentle at all. The words he used weren’t harsh, but they lacked emotion or affection as a couple.
Kyle could only nod his head as he watched Ethan walk to the bathroom. He seemed to be used to the way his husband treated him.
The cold and indifferent attitude was always what he received from him. Sometimes he wondered, Does that man love him?
It had been almost a year since they got married, but there had never been a single sign of it. Even after making love, Ethan would coldly leave him while smoking.
’I know I have no other choice, and I feel like I’ll always be stuck with him,’ he thought at the time.
Then he remembered how Arcane treated Julian so romantically. Arcane’s smiling face every time he talked about Julian was enough to make Kyle jealous because he could never get that kind of treatment from his own husband.
Especially last week when they had lunch together to celebrate the school’s anniversary. He kept watching Arcane being so attentive to Julian.
"Even when Julian was busy eating, Arcane kept looking at him and smiling. It was as if his world revolved around Julian," he muttered, hugging Ethan’s jacket tightly.
He also wanted to be treated like that, treated so gently and lovingly. Even when Julian had an allergic reaction, Arcane immediately moved quickly to take him away.
He wanted to feel all of that, but not from Ethan, but from Arcane.
’I know this is wrong. But I can’t deny these feelings anymore.’
His eyes closed as he recalled how Arcane treated him, and how he smiled at him every time they met. Something he had never felt before.
And he wanted to feel that every day.

Julian woke up in the morning, and when he opened his eyes, he saw Arcane’s face still fast asleep. His face looked very innocent, with slow breaths coming from his mouth.
Since they had confessed their feelings to each other, they had started sleeping in the same room. Sometimes they slept on Arcane’s bed, but sometimes they slept in Julian’s room.
Although Julian himself was not used to sharing a bed with someone else, every morning when he saw his husband’s face, he felt his spirit immediately lift.
"He looks so innocent when he sleeps. But when he wakes up, he can be really annoying sometimes. You’re lucky I like you!" he muttered as he gently brushed Arcane’s bangs with his fingers.
"But... I don’t regret being near you. Being with you makes me realize what life is really like. Life isn’t as easy as I thought. And you’re here to help me. Thank you."
He kissed Arcane’s cheek softly so as not to wake him. His fingers still played with the man’s bangs so they wouldn’t cover his handsome face.
"So handsome..."
Unexpectedly, his wrist was suddenly grabbed by Arcane, who had woken up to Julian’s words. He kissed him husband’s fingers and opened his eyes.
"So you think my face is annoying, huh? But look at yourself. You’re even more annoying and clumsy," he said in a hoarse voice, having just woken up from sleep.
Julian was startled to find that Arcane was already awake. He felt embarrassed about what he had said earlier about the man.
"Wait, did you hear everything I said to you?" he asked frantically.
"Because my ears still work very well. So of course I could hear everything you said about me. I know I’m much more handsome than you," Arcane replied teasingly.
Ashamed that his words had been heard, Julian tried to break free and get out of bed. However, Arcane held him back, wrapped his arms around his waist, and buried his face in Julian’s neck.
"Why are you in such a hurry? It’s still too early to get out of bed. We still have time to relax before I have to go teach," he whispered in a spoiled tone.
Arcane never used that tone of voice with anyone else except his mother. Now he was using that tone again, which sounded very childish. But he only did it with his husband.
Knowing he couldn’t escape from him, the green haired young man finally chose to stay on the bed while playing with Arcane’s hair.
They enjoyed the quiet morning without saying a word. Even so, their hearts seemed to speak to each other, giving them a warmth and affection they had never felt before.
"If you keep playing with my hair like that, I’ll be too lazy to go teach today."
"Don’t be like that! Your students need you to teach them. Don’t be lazy just because of something trivial like this. We can do it again after you get home from work!" Julian tried to pull away and look into his eyes.
Arcane chuckled when he heard him, then sat up on the bed and stretched his body. Julian woke up too, sitting next to him and scratching his hair like someone who had just woken up.
"What are we having for breakfast this morning?"
"What do you want us to eat today? I’ll make whatever you want as long as it’s simple for breakfast," replied Arcane because he had to go to work.
The young man sitting next to him was silent for a moment, thinking about his answer.
He turned his head after getting the answer, a smile on his face.
"Toast?"
"You can make that yourself." Arcane flicked Julian’s forehead because he could make it himself instead of Arcane having to do it.
"Then I’ll make it! You go take a shower and let me prepare breakfast for you!"
When Julian got out of bed and was about to leave the room, Arcane grabbed his wrist and pulled him into a quick kiss.
"You forgot your morning kiss," he said.
Hearing that, Julian kissed his lips and cheeks. "I’m giving you a bonus for my mistake."
Without saying another word, he ran out of the room. Leaving Arcane to smile and shake his head at his husband’s adorable behavior.
