[BL] CRAVING HIM: Addicted to His Voice-Chapter 306: A Heart Crying for Attention
~Zayn’s POV~
But I couldn’t. I stepped closer, dropping to my knees in front of him. Wrapping my arms around his waist, I pressed my forehead to him.
"I’m so sorry, baby," I whispered, tears slipping down my cheeks and soaking into the fabric of his trousers. "Please... please forgive me." 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
He was silent. He didn’t push me away or say a word, but I could feel the tension start to drain from his body. I looked up, meeting his hurt gaze.
"Please, Babe, forgive me," I begged again. "This will never happen again. I’m very sorry, babe, please forgive me."
His voice, when he finally spoke, was barely above a whisper, fragile, like something inside him had cracked. "You even picked up your phone... and carried the lunch you made for me."
He swallowed hard, eyes glistening. "Zayn... don’t you love me anymore? Tell me, Zayn—has your love for me started fading?"
"No, babe, trust me, I love you so much," I insisted, my voice thick with tears.
"Then if you love me, why did you sleep without hearing my voice?"
"I’m sorry," I murmured, dropping my gaze. "I have no excuse."
"Don’t do that again," he pleaded. "Because I honestly thought you didn’t love me anymore."
In my mind, I sighed, Just because I didn’t reply for a day, my love is fading?
What a dramatic soul. But I never dare say that aloud.
Instead, I said softly, "I love you so much. I swear it."
"You won’t do that again, right?"
I nodded vigorously. "No, never."
He reached down and gently helped me up from my knees. I met his gaze, which was now filled with tenderness, though still shadowed by worry.
He gently held my face between his hands. "I’m sorry if I hurt you just now, by ignoring your tears."
"It’s okay," I quickly assured him, reaching up to cover his hand.
"Know, I didn’t ignore them," he corrected softly. "I only wanted you to understand how much it hurt me, too."
"I’m sorry," I repeated.
He smiled faintly and apologized as well. "I’m sorry, too."
We stared at each other for a long, quiet moment, basking in the fragile connection we had rebuilt. He leaned in and kissed me, a deep, restorative kiss. "I love you so much, Zayn."
"I love you more," I replied.
He pulled back slightly, his expression settling into a serious, earnest calm. Gently, he took my hand in his. "One more thing," he said softly. "Never think I’m upset because of Liam. I’m truly okay with him. He’s my son, too, you know. I love both of you."
"I was only angry because I didn’t hear from you," he clarified, his thumb tracing a soothing pattern on the back of my hand.
"Okay," I agreed, understanding fully now that his anger stemmed from fear of abandonment, not jealousy or triviality.
He kissed my cheek, a genuine, warm kiss, then took my hand and walked me back over to the sofa where I had been sleeping. "Serve me," he said, a genuine smile finally returning to his beautiful face. "I’m hungry now. I can finally eat."
I smiled, relieved and incredibly happy that the storm had passed. I pressed a grateful kiss to his lips, then quickly opened the lunch box and served him the meal I had prepared, placing the plate on the low table in front of him.
He began to eat, and I moved closer, holding one of his arms, content just to stare at him. I watched him savor the food. After a few bites, he glanced at me.
"So," he asked, "What is your conclusion about Liam? What did Meera say?"
I told him I had spoken to Meera, and she had agreed to cancel her travel plans for a while. "She’s letting me have Liam this coming weekend, too. We’re going to work out a new schedule."
He stopped chewing, looking delighted. "That sounds great, Zayn. Really great."
A wave of affection washed over me. I wanted to be closer, to feel his pleasure. "Feed me," I mumbled, leaning in.
He tried to lift the fork with a piece of chicken on it.
I tilted my head, teasing, "Feed me."
"Babe, that’s what I’m trying to do," he said, bringing the fork toward my mouth.
"No," I whispered, reaching up to cup his jaw, my gaze locked on his mouth. "Feed me from your mouth."
His eyes widened, then a slow, sexy smile spread across his face. He set the fork down, brought the bite of food he was chewing to the very edge of his lips, and looked at me, his eyes full of heat.
I leaned in. With extreme care, I parted my lips and took the piece of chicken from his mouth to mine. Our lips brushed, the intimacy startling and sweet. I chewed slowly, savoring the taste of the food mixed with the faint taste of his mouth.
When I finished, I giggled. Evric watched me, his expression melting with pure adoration. He reached for another bite, placing it on his tongue, and leaned in for me to take it again.
When we separated, I licked the remaining sauce from my lip, and he let out a satisfied sigh, completely melted.
After we finished eating, Evric climbed onto my lap, wrapping his arms around my neck. "Babe," he murmured, nestling his head into the crook of my shoulder.
"Yes," I answered, stroking his hair.
"When are we going to see your mom?" he asked.
"For what?" I asked, confused. "Is it just for a visit or...?"
"No," he said, pulling back just enough to look at me, his eyes bright with purpose. "To tell her officially we are getting married soon. We need to tell her, discuss the necessary traditional steps, what kind of prize I need to bring, and so we can pick a wedding date."
I felt a rush of warmth and excitement. "Whenever you want, baby. But," I leaned in playfully, "I hope on our wedding day you do not forget to give me flowers this time. Because when you proposed to me, you didn’t give me flowers. I guess you forgot to add them." I teased, "Why did you skip the flowers?"
He didn’t answer right away. Instead, he let out a long, weary sigh. "Babe... I’m exhausted. I just want to sleep. I didn’t get a wink of rest last night because I couldn’t hear your voice."
"Okay, baby, now sleep," I whispered, pulling him close again.
He pulled me close, wrapping me in a tight hug, and pressed a soft kiss to my shoulder. "I’ll do anything to make you happy, Zayn. Whatever you want, I’ll get it for you. And don’t worry, I didn’t forget the flowers, I just didn’t add it, okay?"
"Okay," I smiled, holding him. "Sounds like you have another plan."
He just held me tighter against my chest. "I will sleep now."
"Okay, baby," I agreed.
He raised his head slightly and pouted, his eyes heavy with exhaustion. I pressed a gentle, lingering kiss on his mouth. Satisfied, he rested his head back onto my chest and immediately drifted off to sleep.
I chuckled softly and began stroking his back, feeling the even rise and fall of his breathing. I whispered the words I meant with all my heart into his hair. "I love you so much, Daddy."
I heard a sleepy murmur against my chest. "I love you more, Zayn."
Then...
