Chapter 247: Chapter 247: A Night to Remember

~Zayn’s POV~

As our tears subsided and we managed to compose ourselves, Evric reached under the table. He pulled out a small, velvet box and placed it on the table next to a set of keys.

"What is that?" I asked, my voice still raspy.

Evric didn’t open the box. He took my hand and stood up. "Come with me."

He led me out of the private dining area, down the elevator, and out to the front of the restaurant, where the valet was already waiting. Moments later, a sleek, midnight-black luxury car glided to a stop, its polished surface gleaming under the city lights, the kind of car that turned heads without needing a name.

I stopped short, my pulse quickening. "Evric, what did you do this time?" My voice came out softer than I intended, half afraid, half hopeful.

He smiled—a soft, boyish grin that carried both pride and tenderness. "This is for you, my love," he said, his voice low and full of emotion. "For your patience, for believing in me when I didn’t deserve it... for everything you’ve done to love me right."

I couldn’t believe it. I ran a hand over the smooth hood, tears of shock and delight mixing with the remnants of my earlier grief. I turned and threw my arms around his neck, hugging him tightly.

"You’re trying to buy my love," I whispered into his ear, my voice trembling with joy.

Evric chuckled softly, pulling back just enough to meet my eyes. "I wouldn’t dare," he said with a playful firmness. "Before, I used to wait for you to ask, hoping you’d let me spoil you, but you never did. This time, I’m not asking whether you want it or not. If I see something that reminds me of you, I’ll get it. From now on, I’m going to spoil you shamelessly."

He opened the velvet box, revealing a breathtaking, custom-designed diamond bracelet that shimmered under the soft lights. "And this, Zayn," he said tenderly, "you must never lose it. I know we already share matching jewelry, but this one... this one is the most precious, and the most meaningful piece we’ve ever made together."

I smiled softly, my chest tightening as I looked at the bracelet glinting in his hand. "You know I always keep everything you give me safe," I said quietly, meeting his eyes. "I’ve never lost a single thing that came from you."

I collected the car key, and Evric collected the bracelet. He fastened the glittering diamond piece around my wrist. We both stood there, admiring the symbols of his commitment.

Evric immediately pulled out his phone, snapping a picture of our clasped hands, his fingers intertwined with mine, the new diamond bracelet gleaming softly between us. Then he took several photos of me sitting inside the car, his expression full of quiet pride.

"Can I post this?" he asked, excitement blazing in his eyes.

"Yes!" I cheered, too excited to care about privacy. "Post it!"

Evric immediately posted the photos with the caption:

For the one who deserves to sparkle and ride in style. 💎🚘

Immediately, responses flooded in, including one from his father: Congratulations, sons. Proud of you both. Keep shining together.

I leaned in and kissed him deeply, a genuine, appreciative kiss. "That’s all you get," I said, pulling away.

Evric chuckled. "That’s enough."

The driver took the new car away, and Evric escorted me back to the waiting car.

"Baby," Evric said once we were settled, his tone gentle. "Will you pass the night with me?"

He quickly added before I could respond, his tone gentle and sincere. "I booked a suite for us, just to relax and enjoy the night view together. Nothing more. No sex, no intimacy. I promise. But if you’re not comfortable with it, I can cancel it right now."

I almost laughed at his rapid-fire assurance. "I don’t want it," I said flatly.

Without hesitation, Evric pulled out his phone and started dialing. "Cancel the hotel reservation," he said quickly.

My eyes widened. "Wait! I’m joking!" I grabbed his hand to stop him, laughing. "Evric, stop. I’m just kidding. Yes, I’ll come with you."

He sighed with relief and told the driver the plan was still on.

We arrived at the luxurious hotel suite, which did indeed have a breathtaking view of the city. Once we were inside, I turned to him.

"Thank you, Evric," I said, putting my arms around his neck and giving him a soft, affectionate hug. "Thank you for tonight. Thank you for listening to me. Thank you for trying." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Evric held me tighter, his voice warm against my ear. "I’d do anything for you, Zayn."

We settled into the expansive living area and poured ourselves celebratory drinks. I drank quite a lot because I was genuinely happy and relieved. Evric, however, barely touched his glass. He was careful, sipping just enough to be sociable, ensuring he was in full control so he wouldn’t make a mistake or try to take advantage of my relaxed state.

I drifted off to sleep first, passed out peacefully on the giant bed. Evric joined me later, slipping in gently beside me. He didn’t touch me intimately; he just pulled me into a protective cuddle, resting his head against mine, and placed a soft kiss on my forehead. He fell asleep holding me, without crossing the line.

The sun was high when I finally stirred, the soft, luxurious sheets tangled around my legs. I opened my eyes, expecting the space of my temporary room, but instead, I met the gaze of Evric.

He was propped up on his elbow, inches from my face, doing the very thing I had always loved and sometimes feared: watching me sleep. But now, the possessiveness was gone, replaced by profound tenderness. He was playing with my hair, gently brushing the strands back from my forehead, his fingers tracing the curve of my nose and the line of my lips.

The moment my eyes fluttered open, Evric’s eyes slammed shut. He threw his arm across his face and let out a loud, exaggerated, rumbling snore.

I couldn’t help but laugh, the sound muffled by the pillow. "Since when did you start snoring, Evric?"

He continued his fake performance, so I retaliated, digging my fingers into his ridiculously toned waist and starting to tickle him. He exploded into genuine laughter, the sound loud and free, and we tumbled into a playful mess of limbs and sheets, laughing until we landed with Evric suspended over me.

We stopped, breathless, our eyes locking. His gaze was dark and burning, full of desire and everything we hadn’t said. All the tension from our time apart came rushing back, heavy and electric. He hovered over me, so close, so tempting, so heartbreakingly irresistible, that every inch of me ached to close the distance.

Then the new Evric showed himself. He immediately pulled back, rolling onto his side of the bed. "Good morning, baby," he said softly, his voice still rough with sleep, as he turned his back to me. He was respecting the boundary.

That small act of self-control, the discipline to stop when his desire was clearly visible, was the sexiest thing he had ever done. It showed me he was actively choosing respect over entitlement.

I made the move instead.

I moved closer, tracing the sharp line of his shoulder blade with my fingertips. I didn’t need to be chased anymore, I just wanted to be desired freely, and I wanted him the same way. I pressed a soft kiss to his neck, then to his jaw, slowly guiding him back toward me.

What followed was slow, tender, and deliberate—a careful exchange of touch, lips, and hands. Every movement burned with passion and warmth, a silent agreement to let go of while of tension and fear through closeness, not control. We never crossed the line of penetration, it wasn’t about that. It was deeper than sex, the truest kind of intimacy, built entirely on trust, consent, and love.

Afterward, exhausted and utterly content...
