[BL] Challenge: 100 Baby in Fantasy World-Chapter 260: Betrayal
They returned to the dorm tower with Gara still trying to digest Mona’s words.
Their steps came to a stop when they ran into Revan and Andine. The mermaid girl’s eyes were swollen and red, she must’ve been crying not long ago.
Surprisingly, it was Fian who approached her first, looking visibly guilty. So unlike his usual calm self.
"I’m sorry, Andine," he said, voice low with remorse.
Andine blinked, startled. She had prepared herself for another round of scolding, not an apology. "F-Fian?"
"We’re sorry— no, I’m sorry, Andine." Gara stepped forward too, sharing the same apologetic look.
"What’s going on?" she asked, glancing at the four young men in confusion before turning to Revan.
But Revan looked just as lost as she was.
Not wasting any time, Gara explained everything about Mona. Miki jumped in now and then to fill in the details, confirming Gara’s account.
Andine clasped her hands, too shocked to speak.
Revan was equally stunned, though beneath the shock, he was already thinking about what to do next. How to restore Class S to normal again.
But more importantly, he couldn’t let such criminal acts go unpunished.
When Gara finished, Andine broke down, crying even louder.
Thankfully, they were already on the sixth floor, Class S’ floor, so no curious students could overhear them.
"I really thought all of you hated me~" she sobbed between hiccups.
Gara gently patted her head. "Of course not. You can like whoever you want. It’s your choice."
As Andine tried to calm herself, Miki spoke up. "Apparently, someone did tell a few students in the class to stay away from mermaid girls.
They said doing that would help them get better grades and connections with higher-ups. Honestly, I believed it was your doing, Gara— well, before I knew the truth."
"I doubt anyone would’ve believed it if Mona was the one saying it," Madha added thoughtfully. "There must be someone else behind it, someone more trusted."
They exchanged uneasy glances. Deep down, each of them began guessing who it could be.
"It can’t be Vania, right?" Miki muttered.
"Vania doesn’t have that kind of influence," Gara replied, shaking his head.
"I’ll report this to Professor Langga. He should be able to help us figure out who’s behind all this," Revan said, already turning to leave.
But Gara quickly stopped him. "Don’t—"
He cut himself off when everyone turned toward him, confused.
Clearing his throat, he continued, "I mean... maybe we should bring this to someone with more authority. Professor Langga is still a young professor. If someone’s orchestrating this, they might hold a higher position."
Gara didn’t want to admit what he was really thinking, that the person he suspected most was Langga himself.
Remembering Mona’s words, he realized just how fitting Langga’s Trait —Cunning— really was.
’No wonder he has that Trait. He completely fooled me.’ Gara’s thoughts darkened, disappointment mixing with quiet fury. ’I won’t let this go.’
If Langga could order his own student to approach the enemy while the enemy was also his student, then it wasn’t impossible he was the mastermind behind everything.
If that was true, then everything finally made sense.
"Maybe we can ask Sir Agus Soren for help," Madha suggested. "We can meet him tomorrow, and with Revan’s help, it’ll be easier to bring this matter to light."
"I agree," Gara nodded.
"Alright then. I’ll come with you to meet Grandpa tomorrow."
...
Even though the Class S Duel had just ended, Gara still went to the alchemy lab that day. He didn’t really need rest anyway.
On weekends, the academy was quiet, with barely any students wandering around. Gara didn’t expect to run into anyone—
And yet, fate decided otherwise.
At the far end of the corridor, a tall man with striking silver hair walked toward him. From a distance, the man smiled brightly the moment he saw Gara.
’That smile... what a lie.’ Gara’s eyes narrowed. ’If Mona hadn’t told me everything, I might still believe that smile was genuine.’
He didn’t return the smile. Instead, his cold glare said everything.
Langga immediately noticed something was off.
Before Gara could walk past, Langga gently grabbed his arm. "What now?"
Gara let out a sharp, bitter laugh. That one word —now— as if he was always the one causing trouble. Maybe that was what Mona thought too. Maybe that’s how Langga had always seen him.
Without holding anything back, Gara told him everything Mona had revealed.
Langga’s expression changed instantly. His jaw tightened, his eyes turned cold.
That look wasn’t new to Gara.
He had seen it before during their first meeting, when Langga had mistaken him for someone working with the one who gave him the drug. Back then, Langga had been ruthless and terrifying.
Seeing that same look again made chills run down Gara’s spine. It reminded him that the kind, patient Professor Langga everyone admired... was just a mask.
Gara clicked his tongue, eyes burning.
"An advisor who tells his student to bring another down through deceit. No wonder your students always end up as top graduates. But if that success comes from manipulation and lies, then I want no part of it."
"I never meant for Mona to commit a crime," Langga said, tone firm. "All I wanted was for her hatred to fade after spending time with you, to turn it into friendship."
"Of course you’d say that now, after everything’s out," Gara shot back. "You could’ve told me the truth from the start."
He stepped closer, voice sharp as a blade. "You’re the kind of man who justifies any method to make your students stronger. Even if it destroys them in the process."
Langga opened his mouth to reply, but Gara raised his hand, cutting him off. He didn’t want to hear another word.
"I’m done. I won’t continue the special training."
He turned on his heel and walked away, fury boiling inside him.
This betrayal wasn’t just about trust between student and mentor. It was personal.
’I was a fool to even think about introducing him to the triplets. What would become of them with a father like him around? No... not just that. Someone like him would use my children for his own gain. I won’t let that happen.’
Betrayal burned in his chest, but anger toward himself burned even hotter.
He was furious.
Furious at Langga.
And even more furious that he had once let his guard down.
Langga could feel Gara’s anger, cold and real.
That glare wasn’t a bluff.
From afar, he could only watch as Gara’s back grew smaller, walking away from him without hesitation.
’What in the world did Mona do?’ he thought bitterly. ’She was supposed to use that anger to find Gara’s weaknesses —his Bloodline, his Talent— not poison him.’
Running a hand through his silver hair, Langga let out a rough sigh. For a split second, his blue eyes glinted blood red.
"Rucian... you’ve ruined everything."
...
That night, after returning from the alchemy lab, Gara slept in his room inside the Dimensional Home.
When he came out the next morning, he was greeted by Wina, who had already prepared breakfast for him.
"Mom made you some warm soup, Gara," Wina said cheerfully. "How’s your morning sickness?"
Her gaze dropped to Gara’s belly, which had started to show.
Now five months in, if Gara was even a bit late drinking his morning Niskara tea, his morning sickness would hit hard.
"Thanks, Mom. Honestly, I wouldn’t mind taking a break forever if it means you keep making me soup," Gara said with a playful smile.
And truthfully, that’s what he wanted.
With his current condition, he didn’t want to stress his body or mind with classes or training. But he also knew, this was the path he had chosen.
"You should just have breakfast here every morning," Wina suggested, though she knew it wouldn’t be easy for him to keep that up.
From the other room, Madha had been listening to their conversation. He stepped out and walked toward them, a faint smile on his lips.
"A few more weeks and it’ll be winter break," Madha said softly. "Just hang in there a little longer, okay?"
He reached out, gently rubbing Gara’s stomach.
Gara nodded, smiling faintly. Even that small gesture was enough to ease his stress.
Having the father of his child by his side made this pregnancy completely different. Even though back then he had his mother and Madha too, it wasn’t quite the same.
Gara finished breakfast before the others.
Just as he set down his bowl, Fian and Ares entered from the side door, sweaty and slightly out of breath, probably just done with morning training.
"Go eat first," Gara said. "After that, we’ll move the Autumn Apple seedlings from the clay pots to the side yard."
That was actually the main reason Gara stayed in the Dimensional Home for the weekend. There was work waiting to be done.
"After that, we can also harvest the Black Lavender," he added.
The three men, his so-called "workers", nodded in silent agreement.
