Chapter 158: Chapter 11: Abyss City! A City Without Children_3

Aemon didn’t mind, and calmly said, "In my memory, all foreigners possess extraordinary command talent."

"A true fated legend will have followers, clans, and servants of their own."

"Next action, you should also command a team of demon guards for training."

Shawn was silent for a moment, then nodded, "Alright."

Aemon certainly wasn’t a good person, but by staying by his side, Shawn could indeed learn many things.

In front of a magnificent and grand palace, Aemon seemed to be taking a stroll, and said lightly, "I’m planning to clear the outskirts of the entire swamp zone in three months, and then build an Abyss Fortress at your trial site, to serve as an outpost for the attack on Supreme Cliff and Death Swamp."

Aemon turned to take a glance at Shawn, and calmly said, "You’ll develop this outpost."

This was adding more difficulty for Shawn.

Shawn nodded, "Understood."

Aemon smiled, seeming to have a trace of appreciation in his eyes. He liked people who knew the times, and with a smile, he said, "After spending a few days in the Bizarre Realm, what are your impressions?"

Shawn stopped, pondered for a moment, and said, "Very dangerous."

"But the resources are also very abundant!"

Resources.

As a Transcendent on the Wizard Path, Shawn’s promotion requires a wealth of resources, which can only be met in the dangerous Bizarre Realm.

There are too many relics and curios here; a day’s yield surpasses that of several months in the Realm of Reality.

It’s just that all of this requires gambling your life.

Aemon admired, "Resources, huh?"

"Indeed."

"Humanity’s retreat from the Material Plane to the Realm of Reality equals giving up the vast resources of the entire world."

"However, there have always been extraordinary relics flowing into the realm of reality."

"Can you guess?"

"Where do all those extraordinary relics end up?"

Upon hearing this, Shawn remained silent.

Those extraordinary relics certainly didn’t end up in the hands of ordinary people; the greatest possibility is that they fell into the hands of certain classes in the Realm of Reality. Shawn realized he didn’t know that much about the Realm of Reality either; he had just lived in Dorne City for a while.

Dorne inherited the civilization of Earthlings, making it a special case on its own.

Aemon said lightly, "Human greed is indelible, not even the ideas foreigners bring can change that."

"The Realm of Reality is becoming a prison."

He turned around, walked into the palace, casually waving his hand, "Go prepare for your own things."

"At midnight, I will personally hold the promotion ceremony for you."

Was it finally time to advance?

Watching Aemon’s figure leave, Shawn felt a slight thrill.

Without stepping to the next advancement ceremony in the Bizarre Realm, one can never raise their extraordinary level limit. Only by completing the Second Stage fusion ceremony can Shawn raise his extraordinary level limit to Ten.

First fuse, then digest.

The power of transcendents is all stolen or snatched.

Abyss City.

This was Shawn’s first time strolling alone within Abyss City. The place resembled the fantasy cities in his traditional knowledge, only it was a domain for evil creatures.

Here, there were taverns, inns, blacksmith shops, brothels, stores, markets–almost all life necessities were available. They also have their own laws, currency, traditions, etc. It felt close to the legendary Bottomless Abyss; there was a touch of order amidst the chaos, with everything else left to freely develop.

The common currency in Abyss City was the Soul Stone, formally called Soul Crystal Stone, under which metal currencies were accepted, but their value was far beneath that of Soul Stones.

Shawn planned to first dispose of the curios he held.

However, as he strolled through the streets of Abyss City, he quickly noticed something rather strange.

"There are no children here..."

In the Realm of Reality’s Dorne City, you could catch sight of children on every street corner; they might be playing, or already helping alleviate family burdens at a young age.

In Dorne City children were very common, but in Abyss City, there wasn’t a single one.

No sign of children here.

Shawn saw no trace of children here, not even the elderly, weak, or women. Those rare figures resembling children had all transformed into dwarves, with their racial template having shifted from human to the Otherworld’s dwarf kind.

"Not a single child’s figure..."

This small discovery revealed to Shawn the brutal truth behind Abyss City’s prosperity and strength.

No elderly, weak, or women here; only transcendents.

Shawn took a deep breath, calmed himself, and turned to enter a curios shop called ’Purgatory Fire Horn.’ The shops here resembled ancient scrolls from previous life games, with a sign at the entrance bearing the corresponding emblematic symbols, like a hammer, weapon, cup, etc.

"Welcome to Abyss City."

A soft and charming female voice sounded, apparently very polite. Though the residents of Abyss City were very evil, many were quite polite, perhaps influenced by Aemon.

The alluring figure walking toward him wore half-revealing snug light armor, exposing fair arms with faintly purple demon tattoos. She had a pair of small curved horns on her head, a pair of spread bat wings on her back, and a tail with a stinger poking out. Her lush form swayed slightly as she walked, smiling like blooming flowers, "Guest. Is there anything you need?"

Enchanting Demon.

She had fully transformed into a demon race, utilizing the monster level instead of extraordinary level. This advancement method allowed one to acquire more racial talents, and demons adapted to any extreme natural environment.

Demons were immune to electricity and toxins, boasting resistance to strong acid, fire, and cold, well-suited for surviving in today’s Bizarre Realm.

Being immune to toxins allows adaptation to many extreme environments.

Looking at the enchanting demon before him, Shawn couldn’t help but think of Lady Diana from the Roman Imperial Palace. She was also a Transcendent on the Monster Path, but didn’t transform into a demon form.

He calmly said, "I’m preparing to sell a batch of curios."

Upon hearing Shawn’s words, the enchanting demon’s eyes immediately lit up, becoming incredibly enthusiastic. She approached coyly, a sweet fragrance wafting to his nose. Her voice was like molten honey, "Purgatory Fire Horn recycles all extraordinary relics and curios equipment."

"Our prices are the fairest."

"Honorable guest, please follow me."

Enchanting demons are basically green pools and green teas; Shawn watched her enthusiastic manner with indifference.

This time he needed to prepare a lot, counting on exchanging his curios for a batch of Soul Stones.

The power of the Invisible Servant could only lift about ten kilograms. If he directly let it carry explosives to self-destruct, he would have to prepare quite a quantity.

If he used it to trigger explosive traps, Shawn would need even more explosives.

Shawn couldn’t currently summon a group of Invisible Servants; summoning a group would probably drain his resources.

A bit costly.

In the future, he still needed to learn a bit of alchemy.

The Invisible Servant could serve as assembly line workers; if they could manufacture explosives themselves, that’d be great.
