Bizarre Realm-Chapter 154 - 10: Plane Merchant! All About Backstabbing! (Part 2)
The Divine Investiture ritual requires concentrating the World Law of a specific concept onto a single person, transforming the Domain of Death into the Divine Position of Death, ultimately directly influencing the entire world’s Death Concept.
No one dares to act rashly!
"Only nameless people during the Dark Era are capable of self-sacrifice, fighting to save humanity. Who else would be willing to be someone else’s sacrificial pawn?"
"How many people dedicate their entire lives and still fail to step onto the Path of Destiny."
"Which Legendary Powerhouse willing becomes someone else’s stepping stone for Divine Investiture after completing the Path of Destiny?"
The last idealists all perished in the most desperate and cruel Dark Era.
Shawn is not an idealist; he can’t sacrifice himself to fulfill others.
This stalemate has probably persisted for a long time.
Who would have thought that humanity’s strongest Path of Death is the most fiercely competitive Path of Destiny.
In the Bizarre Realm, only one True God can correspond to each concept. In the past, unable to withstand the mad pollution, the last of humanity’s destined had to share ’Death,’ leading to many Death Demigods. But even so, forcibly crossing paths to ascend lead this group to gradually fall into madness and decline, leaving successors with no ability to reconsolidate the Power of the Law of Death.
A powerful Death True God was forcibly split into over seventy Death Demigods.
Eventually, the power of the Path of Death continued to fragment, resulting in no one able to consolidate the Law of the Divine Position of Death.
This Law Power is too dispersed.
"To see a true Death God, the Bizarre Realm can no longer have so many Death Demigods!..."
"But who would be willing to perish?"
The power of the demigod Witch Demons is very strong, but there’s a problem: they themselves don’t suffer from Instant Death Spells. So when demigod Witch Demons fight each other, many of their abilities are nullified, neither able to do anything to the other.
If you are ambushed, as a human and your opponent a Witch Demon, casting a Death Finger would have no effect, but if the opponent casts a Death Finger, you might drop dead instantly.
This is incredibly disadvantageous.
"No wonder Aemon said there are already enough Witch Demons in this world!" Shawn began to understand what Aemon meant at that time.
Everyone wants to save their own life and fears being ambushed.
The most life-preserving transformation in the Path of Death is becoming a Witch Demon. A Witch Demon has a phylactery, and as long as the phylactery isn’t destroyed, they can keep resurrecting. Eventually, all survivors of the Path of Death are Witch Demons.
Ms. Hecate isn’t a Witch Demon, perhaps because she’s particularly formidable.
Aemon said if Shawn doesn’t want to become a Witch Demon, he needs to follow his instructions. Knowing all his future competitors would be Witch Demons, Shawn already felt his scalp tingle—a feeling as if he too was being forced to transform into a Witch Demon.
It’s just internal competition to the death!
If this stalemate isn’t broken, the real world will only tentatively preserve itself. Otherwise, there’s an opportunity for cross-domain promotion, exploring sub-branch concepts within the Death Concept to see if it’s possible to consolidate the corresponding Divine Duty Law.
Ms. Hecate’s esteemed name contains concepts like Netherworld, Hell, ghosts, and paths; this should be a kind of attempt.
Since the Dark Era, no True God holding the World Law has been born in the Bizarre Realm.
Nightfall descended.
Shawn tidied his emotions, preparing to endure his second night here.
No matter what, even if the same sequence path is internally competitive, that’s a matter for after the destined Legendary. Having just ascended and grasped a trace of Law Power, there’s no need to worry about so much yet—a Transcendent must first possess a corresponding concept’s ’Domain’ to transform it into a higher authority’s ’Divine Position.’
In the future, Shawn just needs to be cautious of Transcendents on the same path.
If everyone is an Ascender, it’s equivalent to no one being an Ascender!
No wonder some people in reality lay flat and never continue to ascend throughout their lives.
Hiss, hiss, hiss.
Outside came a strange sweeping sound; it was certainly those Flying Head Monsters again. This time, however, they circled over the Eye Demon Territory, seemingly discovering traces of battle from the daytime.
Shawn immediately grew tense.
Fortunately, these Flying Head Monsters still seemed somewhat wary of the Eye Demon, circling low before following the ghostly shadows away from this area.
They probably also felt some fear, perhaps wondering if something more sinister had arrived.
Ding!
Who knows how long had passed when the alert spell Shawn set up was suddenly triggered, an alarm ringing in his heart. He immediately stood up, fully armed, cautiously making his way to the entrance.
Someone’s here!
The intruder activated Shawn’s vigilance trap; he even heard a faint hint of footsteps.
In the Bizarre Realm, those who come out at night are ruthless characters.
The footsteps outside grew closer, but the intruder did not enter, seemingly wary, cautiously standing outside the cave, about ten meters away.
"Esteemed one inside."
A hoarse, sharp male voice rang out, sounding as if it carried a hint of glass scraping; it directed towards the cave: "I am Screamer - Bader, as you can see, a herding night sorcerer."
Night sorcerer?
That eerie creature from yesterday?
It hadn’t left?
Aren’t night sorcerers nomadic? Why is it still around here?
Shawn used a cloak to cover his face, making himself appear more like an eerie creature, and slowly walked to the entrance, his voice cold: "What is it?"
Screamer - Bader raised its head, its exposed face a dark green like a fierce ghost, its mouth full of fine and sharp teeth, with blood traces at its corners and remnants of Soul Worm flesh between its teeth, seemingly just having fed.
