Chapter 134: Chapter 4: Otherworld Eye Demon!

The Bizarre Realm is definitely not a place for humans.

After humanity retreated to the real world, the territories in the Bizarre Realm that originally belonged to humans transformed into monster domains. Shawn had just passed by a filthy sewage pit when suddenly it turned into a writhing dark green gel, spraying acid that corroded Shawn’s pants.

This damn thing didn’t die from shooting it in an instant; Shawn finally used the Invisible Hand holding cold weapons to bash it into a mess of foul-smelling pus. It looked somewhat like a slime monster, with some elemental life characteristics, low intelligence, and weak strength, but adept at disguise, with its body still containing partially digested snakes, bugs, and rodents. This kind of monster seems to be randomly spawned, found more in swamps, possibly originating from the blood and pus leaked from the Ancient Race.

Some of the massive Ancient Race creatures in the swamp, when their pustules burst, will unleash a swath of such pus monsters, simultaneously altering the surrounding ecosystem, typically considered a source of pollution in the Bizarre Realm.

Shawn looked at the slight corrosive scar on his calf and casually refined the Extraordinary Relic left by this monster.

This minor injury was already of no concern to him.

The dropped Relic was a 0-ring trick that allows summoning a splash of acid via a spell.

The Wizard Path can master spells, mainly those that are the innate abilities of monsters, seizing their Extraordinary Essence for personal use, and after digesting mysterious Wisdom, it becomes the source of spells.

Realizing this, Shawn could also target and hunt monsters to gain the spell knowledge he wanted to master. However, some spells are incredibly rare, and monsters with corresponding abilities don’t operate on the Material Plane.

It’s only just getting dark now.

Shawn rested for three to four hours in the afternoon, restoring his Magic Power to full capacity. It’s currently around six in the evening, roughly an hour before the sun completely sets, when Spirit Realm monsters will project into the Bizarre Realm.

He has now mastered 7 new spells, and having digested too much Extraordinary Essence, spiritual contamination has also increased significantly, and the Knowledge in his brain is much more active than before.

But his strength has indeed improved rapidly, and the resources of the Bizarre Realm are incomparable to the real world.

If one doesn’t go mad, then there’s no contamination.

"Footprints?"

Shawn was cautiously investigating the area; Wizards aren’t as skilled as Wanderers in this regard. His Tracking ability is quite average, but he made a surprising discovery, seeing some footprints on the plains that had been left for quite some time.

These footprints are large, nearly identical to human foot soles, with five toes, traces left by walking barefoot.

"Very tall, heavy, probably weighing about one and a half times my size."

Shawn roughly estimated that the creature leaving these footprints was about two meters tall, weighing at least three hundred pounds; otherwise, it wouldn’t have left such clear footprints. The direction of the footprints is toward the depths of the plains, potentially the dwelling of humanoid creatures.

But it shouldn’t be human—it could potentially be the legendary Giant.

"But if it’s a Giant, the footprints seem a bit small." Shawn looked into the distance, hesitating whether to go over and check it out.

Anyway, it’s dangerous wherever he stays now; going over might lead to finding a resting spot.

Shawn can’t always camp out in the wilderness; seasoned Hunters know that in the wild, if you find a bear cave, you kill the bear inside, and that cave becomes your temporary safe house. Of course, you have to be able to fight the bear first.

Shawn must find a way to survive the first night in the wilderness of the Bizarre Realm.

In the Bizarre Realm, even Abyss City has ’Maze Lock’ protection at night; only those with great skill or courage, the Transcendent, would generally avoid heading out at night lest they encounter ghosts—literally.

"Those monsters that can survive the wilds of the Bizarre Realm mostly have their ways to endure the night."

"Once it’s completely dark, this place will likely enter spawn mode."

Shawn considered for a moment and decided to follow the footprints to check the situation; staying in the wilderness was equally dangerous, as the Spirit Realm creatures would enter reality at night, and when the gray fog began to spread, those colossal Shadow Giants would also manifest in the real world.

They are extremely powerful!

Shawn saw the silhouette of a black Giant when he followed Lorice out from behind the high walls, and these Giant silhouettes gradually disappeared as the sun rose.

In the Bizarre Realm, daytime is a bit safer, but the challenge level at night will spike.

As darkness gradually set in, a faint bluish ghostly light began to appear in the distance, seemingly attracting Shawn to approach. Not wearing Confusion, he could clearly see the ghostly light, and after cautiously avoiding it, Shawn slowly discovered traces of what seemed like human activity.

"Hmm?"

"What’s this? A farm?"

Shawn found a clearly cultivated field, but didn’t recognize the crops planted, resembling dark gray thorns with spikes on them. The fruit it bore was somewhat reminiscent of caltrops, not yet fully mature.

"Farming? Is it a creature of Wisdom?" Shawn was very puzzled.

The traces of humanoid activity were even more apparent here, ahead stood a peak, and the surrounding terrain was somewhat like the grand mountains of the past life, the topography of Yunnan, Guizhou, and Sichuan—with small knolls undulating. These knolls were quite short, distributed quite densely, and some of the plains around were cultivated.
