Chapter 38: The Mech Rider.

The volcano’s guardian had returned, and upon its back, like a warlord ascending from myth, stood Nioh.

The updraft of fire and wind whipped through his silver hair, his bare torso glistening with sweat and soot. His golden eyes burned with an unearthly glow, and a wicked grin stretched across his face as he balanced effortlessly on the beast’s crown. His scythe gleamed, reflecting the molten light, the curved blade vibrating as if hungry—starving—for war.

The watchers lost their minds.

Lunatic66: "WHO THE HELL IS THAT?! AURA TIME THOUSANDS!"

SkyWatcher77: "NIOH! NIOH IS ON THAT THING!"

MechBrawler42: "Godlike entrance?!"

Lunatic66: "What kind of madman rides a Mecha Wyvern straight from a volcano?!"

WickedHex25: "WHERE DID HE FIND A MECHA WYVERN?!"

SteelSoul28: "WHAT IS GOING ON?"

BlazeVanguard99: "THIS IS INSANE. WHAT A HYPE MOMENT!"

FrostMarauder51: "He’s bringing fire to the frontlines. Literally."

NovaFire89: "The tides are turning. I can feel it. We’re gonna win this!"

FrozenShroud01: "THAT THING IS A BEAST—IT’S NOT EVEN JUST A MECHA!"

The survivors on the ground, once paralyzed with fear, erupted in cheers.

"It’s Little Uncle," Sol said feeling excited. "It’s on our side!"

"WE’RE STILL IN THIS!"

Then the Wyvern Mech moved. Its wings contracted for a split second, the internal engines screaming as it gathered power. Then—detonation.

It vanished in a burst of molten wind, and its body turned into a golden blur, warping the air from the heat.

Then it descended.

Like a falling comet, the Wyvern Mech streaked toward the swarm, turning its massive frame into a vision of divine wrath. The stone locusts had no time to scatter— fire and annihilation followed in its wake.

Flames erupted from its fanged maw, forming a torrent of hellfire that consumed the sky, vaporizing thousands of locusts in a single breath. The biocore-infested creatures screeched, while their carapaces boiled and split, bodies igniting like paper before they could even attempt to flee.

Nioh leaped, twisting midair, his scythe a spiraling crescent of death. He cut through the locusts like they were nothing—each swing effortless, precise, absolute.

Wings of fire spread behind him, and the aftershocks of the Wyvern’s dive sent shockwaves through the battlefield.

The mecha was dying, its power running on sheer hatred alone. It did not care.

This machine, this relic, had not slept for centuries—it had waited. Waited to kill biocores.

And it would burn its own existence to nothing to see that mission through.

The sky became fire, locusts incinerated by the thousands. The ground below turned into a blazing ruin, blackened shells piling up as the mechanical deity raged.

Nioh landed next to his teammates. Iris was panting trying to heal Cryo while Kol and Sol were covered in blood and sweat. They had been through a lot during the time they didn’t meet each other. "Are you okay?" he asked tucking his scythe back.

Sol ran into his arm "Little uncle I knew you would come back, for us" he patted her head and looked at the group of survivors. He made a hand gesture denoting he didn’t have his hearing aid and could not understand speech.

"You guys did well in my absence. You can step back I will handle the rest" he said looking at the Wyvern Mecha wreaking havoc on the locust horde.

Its movement where becoming duller and duller.

"Are you sure?" Cyanide who was panting also asked but got no response.

"He is missing his hearing aid. But if my captain promises something he will deliver" Iris said with a smile. "Yes! That’s right" Kol said dropping his weapon and relaxing, Sol followed the rest, under the astounded expression of Cyanide.

"What is happening?" a commentator asked on the feed

"Are they giving up?" another questioned. "No, they look so relaxed". "Of course, they look relaxed captain is here for them. They feel safe"

FrozenShroud01: "How strong is Prince Nioh for them to have this much faith in him"

SkyWatcher77: "We are about to witness it."

Nioh cracked his neck and stepped forward, rolling his shoulders as if shaking off rust. His scythe, now tucked onto his back, shimmered, the small bells adorning its blade trembling with anticipation. The battlefield was still drenched in blood and fire, the Wyvern Mecha pressing forward, its golden frame now battered, wings sluggishly flaring as its burning hatred fueled its final moments.

The locust horde—though thinned—was still vast. And he would cut them down to silence.

Nioh exhaled, slow and measured, then gripped the handle of his scythe. His forehead glowed gold, and his partial morph activated. His horned helmet and pitch-black exoskeleton encased his muscular body.

A single step. A deep breath. Then—he moved.

He swung, and the world sang.

The bells on his scythe chimed, not softly—but violently, their sound splitting the air with a piercing shriek. The space around him quivered as the force of his strike created sonic shockwaves that exploded outward. The nearest locusts were torn apart mid-flight, their armored bodies ripped asunder, their essence shattered by the vibrating force. free𝑤ebnovel.com

The survivors watching from the high ground felt the sound rattle their bones. "What... what was that?!"

"My ears are ringing!"

Nioh twisted, bringing his scythe into another arc—this time with precision, the edge humming with raw frequency. With each movement, Ekoh pulled soundwave toward him, turning the space around him into a living vortex of noise and vibration. The air itself seemed to bend, warping around his form as the battlefield became his orchestra.

And then—the scream.

A low sound built in his throat, growing louder, deeper. The ground beneath him cracked as energy condensed in his core. Ekoh this cunning being drawer sound from every dying scream, every clash of metal, every explosion in the distance.

His body vibrated with it.

Then—release.

A devastating roar burst from his lips, forming a sound inhuman, and unnatural.

The moment the wave hit, the stone locusts disintegrated. Their bodies, made of reinforced mineral and twisted biocore, shattered like brittle glass. They were caught in an unseen force that ripped them apart at almost a molecular level.

The ground beneath them split, trees snapped like twigs, and the air howled as the scream carved through the battlefield.

Even the Wyvern Mecha, still ablaze with fury, paused. It turned its head, its fading eyes locking onto Nioh.

Then, something unexpected happened. The machine responded.

With a thunderous bellow, the Wyvern roared back, its own soundwave colliding with the remnants of Nioh’s scream, sending flaming debris hurtling in every direction. The force of their combined destruction sent locusts flying like ragdolls, turning entire sections of the battlefield into ash.

Through the smoke and the blazing ruin, Nioh strode forward, his golden eyes burning, his exoskeleton pulsating with golden light.

The locusts had no chance.

Because silence followed wherever he walked.
