Chapter 787: Chapter 656: Size (Second Update)

Yi Luowa looked helplessly and said, "It’s not that I want to chase you away, but they’ll be here at four to do my makeup. By then, how will you even sleep?"

Tong Airui kissed her on the cheek, "I’ll also get up at four, so let’s treasure this time and get some sleep now."

The two of them cuddled and napped for a while, and just a bit past three, Tong Airui got up and left the room.

Shortly after he left, Joyina arrived with the makeup artist and knocked on the door before entering.

Yi Luowa had just sat down at the dressing table, and Ai Ni and the others arrived shortly after. While they busied themselves preparing Yi Luowa, they chatted amongst themselves.

Ai Ni grinned and asked, "When my brother comes to pick up his bride later, should we ask for red envelopes?"

"Are you running a fever? Let me feel." Little Raindrop dragged her over by the arm. "What kind of little sister asks her own brother for money!"

"Fine, Ai Ni won’t ask, but I will. Today, I’m officially a member of Yi Luowa’s family," Joyina said with a laugh.

Huo Li chimed in with a laugh, "Sounds good, count me in too. And Youyou. The three of us are going to milk Tong Airui dry today!"

"You’re supposed to be the elder here, and you’re joining in their antics?" Little Raindrop smiled wryly.

"I’m not an elder today! I’m attending this wedding as Yi Luowa’s bestie. Haha, and tonight, I’m totally crashing the bridal chamber. By the way, where’s Youyou? Without her, there won’t be any fun!"

Little Raindrop gave a pointed look, "Youyou is with my sister-in-law and Shanshan, getting the kids ready."

Huo Li held her belly as she laughed, "Make sure to take more pictures later. Give the kids something beautiful to remember."

Ai Ni smirked and said, "I think it’ll be more like a memory they’d want to forget."

Little Raindrop glanced around, "Who cares if it’s a dream or nightmare? Let’s just enjoy today to the fullest... Has anyone seen Connie?"

"Probably with the kids." Ai Ni arranged the wedding dresses for the day in order on the rack. "If I can’t come back to help my sister-in-law change outfits, just follow the numbers on the rack and don’t mix them up! The fifteenth one is for the bridal chamber. Check out how sexy it is!"

"Pfft—" Little Raindrop burst out laughing, pulling the dress off the rack and stuffing it into the closet.

"What’s so funny? You’re laughing so hard you’re shaking." Yi Luowa just tried to turn her head when the makeup artist quickly held her face steady. "Mrs. Yi, try talking less."

"Oh." Yi Luowa pouted.

"You’ll see tonight," Ai Ni said with a grin. "I’m heading off to check on my fifth sister-in-law."

"Go quickly and come back fast. If she’s feeling unwell, let her rest," Little Raindrop reminded her.

Ai Ni nodded and hurried out.

As she passed Connie’s room, she overheard voices inside. Ai Ni raised her hand to knock on the door, but before her fingers touched the door, she heard an unfamiliar woman’s voice from within.

"Vice President Connie, even if you’re pregnant, you should dress up beautifully. Otherwise, men might feel nauseous just looking at you."

"I appreciate your advice, but for the sake of the baby, I’ll skip the makeup."

"Vice President Connie, we’ve worked together for so long, and you’ve always taken care of me... so I want to say something from my heart."

"Just say it. I’ve never treated you like an outsider."

"When it comes to family background, you and Mrs. Yi are on equal footing. But in terms of standing in the Alderich family, you’re far less favored than Mrs. Yi. You cannot let her overshadow you today. I want to make you look absolutely stunning. All these cosmetics are lead-free, perfectly safe for pregnant women."

"You’re mistaken. In our family, there’s no such thing as favoritism." Connie smiled gently. "Besides, I have no intention of competing with my sister-in-law."

"Vice President Connie, you shouldn’t say that. Right now, you hold the financial reins of the Alderich family. But what if one day, Mrs. Yi wants to take back the rights that are originally hers? Then you’ll have absolutely nothing left—"

Before the woman could finish, Ai Ni pushed the door open with a stern expression and snapped, "Who do you think you are to gossip about our family business?"

Baili Zijin froze and fidgeted nervously with her fingers.

Connie smiled, "Ai Ni, what brings you here?"

"My sister-in-law was worried that you might not be feeling well. She sent me to check on you." Ai Ni pointed at Baili Zijin. "And who is this?"

"This is Miss Baili Zijin, manager of the brokerage department at ZHUOYUAN Securities."

Connie smiled and glanced at the visibly awkward Baili Zijin. "Miss Baili, this is Ai Ni, the Duchess."

Baili Zijin bowed respectfully. "Your Grace, Duchess Ai Ni..."

Ai Ni waved her hand impatiently, "How does a mere department manager get to board this yacht? Who brought you here?"

Baili Zijin bit her lip and replied, "The president brought me. After the wedding, we still have a business negotiation."

Ai Ni furrowed her brows, "Well then, save your silver tongue for your business talks. Now, get out!"

Baili Zijin shot her a glance and quietly left the room.

After she left, Connie chuckled, "Did she get under your skin?"

Ai Ni puffed out her cheeks. "What’s this bird doing here, dipping in and stirring up trouble?"

Connie laughed. "Ignore her. I didn’t see through her at first, but now that she’s gaining favor at the company, her true colors are showing. She does her scheming, and I just choose not to listen. By the way, how’s your sister-in-law’s progress?"

"Almost done. Aren’t you going to check on her?"

Connie pouted, "Grandma said pregnant women shouldn’t enter the bridal chamber. I’m off to look after the kids instead."

"Then listen to Grandma. I’ll take you over to the kids now." Ai Ni supported Connie as they left the room. "Don’t take what that Baili woman said to heart. Some people just can’t handle how harmonious our family is."

Connie glanced around and laughed, "Whether they can stand our harmony is one thing. This lady? Her ambitions are massive."

Ai Ni’s eyes widened. "Don’t tell me she’s got her eye on my fifth brother!"

Connie smirked, "I’m pregnant right now—what better opportunity?"

"Where is my fifth brother? I’m going to ask him why he brought this flat-out troublemaker onto this yacht!"

As Ai Ni spoke, she turned to leave, but Connie grabbed her. "Your brother knows exactly what’s going on. He’ll handle it."

Ai Ni studied her closely. "A woman’s eyeing your husband, and you’re not mad?"

"Why would I be mad? If someone’s interested, it just proves my taste is spot on—he’s a man everyone loves." Connie grinned.

Ai Ni laughed, "Honestly, you’re something else. Your heart’s so big! If it were me, I’d have ripped her apart by now."

"I don’t have the strength for physical fights in my current condition. I’ll just crush her spirit bit by bit." Connie chuckled, "Plus, I’m not alone here. I’ve got your fifth brother with me. United as husband and wife, we can take on anything."

Ai Ni rolled her eyes. "Fine, you two have your fun. But if you ever need someone torn apart, don’t forget to call me."

Connie smiled. "You just focus on being a good duchess and leave these messy matters alone."

Ai Ni laughed and escorted her into the children’s room. As soon as they entered, both of them broke into laughter.

Before eight, Tong Airui and his groomsmen arrived to knock on the door.

Mi Xiaoqiao and Mi Xiaosi pressed against the door with all their might.

Huo Li walked over, laughing, and yelled toward the door, "Shout ’Mom’ three times, louder each time!"

Da Peng nudged Tong Airui, "Fourth Brother, hurry up and shout."

Tong Airui shouted at the top of his lungs, "Mom! Mom! Mooooom!"

Queen Haotian nudged Huo Li playfully. "Auntie, don’t be too hard on Airui. Since he shouted ’Mom,’ let him in."

Huo Li shook her head with a smile. "No way. Today’s our one chance to mess with him. Gotta have fun. Tong Airui, listen up! List ten nicknames you use for Yi Luowa."

"Wifey, darling, sweetheart, my lady, baby’s mom..." Tong Airui had clearly prepared and rattled off ten in one go.

Huo Li glanced back at Yi Luowa, who was sitting on the bed, and then laughed as she shouted toward the door, "Tong Airui, tell us Yi Luowa’s measurements."

"88-60-90." Tong Airui finished and then turned to Da Peng. "If you’re ever looking for a wife, just make sure she matches your sister-in-law’s measurements."

Da Peng groaned, "As if that’s easy to find!"

"Hey! Aren’t you guys here to pick up the bride? Why are you just standing out there chatting? Show some sincerity!" Mi Xiaosi hollered from inside the room.

Huo Li rolled her eyes. "Punishment time! Make them all do 100 push-ups."

"If we do them, will you let us in?" Little Fish asked from outside.

"Do them first, and then we’ll talk." Huo Li peeked through the crack in the door. "Tong Aino, You Jia—why are you two sneaking off?"

You Jia laughed, "We’re married men, not part of the groomsmen team."

"Too bad. If you’re here, you’re not leaving. Everyone does the push-ups, or this door stays shut!"

"That’s right! Keep the door shut!" Mi Xiaoqiao and Mi Xiaosi chanted gleefully.

Tong Airui shot Yuan Hang a glance.

Yuan Hang stepped forward and lightly knocked on the door. "Kou’er, Grandpa brought a heap of red envelopes. If you open the door, they’re all yours. Come on, open the door!"

"Arrest Kou’er first! Hahaha... Everyone get down and start those push-ups!"

At Huo Li’s command, the room burst into laughter as they jokingly pushed Kou’er onto the sofa.
