Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 783 - 653: Have Dad and Mom Set the Date? (Second Update)
"Sis, there’s no way to explain it!" Danton struggled to run away.
Tong Airui let go of Yi Luowa’s hand and released Danton.
Watching Danton dash out the door, Yi Luowa puffed up in anger and glared at Tong Airui. "Why did you let him go?"
"Silly girl, do you even need to ask? If he didn’t like you, he would’ve said so long ago."
"If he likes me, he could’ve told me too!"
"He’s just shy! Babe, just let it go. We’ve got two free babysitters at home now—let them take care of the kids while you come with me to the hospital."
Yi Luowa pouted. "Maybe we shouldn’t go. I’m afraid of side effects."
"What if you get pregnant again?"
"Aren’t you going to tell Mom and Dad about this?"
Tong Airui shook his head. "If I tell them, it won’t happen. Let’s go."
Tong Airui pulled Yi Luowa out the door. Before they even got to the second floor, Tong Airui stopped. "Babe, maybe you shouldn’t come."
Yi Luowa looked at him, puzzled.
Lowering his voice, Tong Airui said, "If you come with me, you’ll end up getting scolded too. I’ll just go with Yuan Hang, and you can pretend you knew nothing about it."
Yi Luowa grabbed his arm. "If I stay home and wait, I’ll worry myself to death."
"You don’t trust Old Seven? He’s doing the surgery himself. Don’t worry, I’ll call you as soon as it’s done." Tong Airui bent down and kissed her soft lips. "There’s nothing much going on these days. I’ll take a few days to recover after it’s done—stop worrying."
Saying that, Tong Airui went downstairs. Yi Luowa stood by the railing, her face full of concern as she watched him leave. It wasn’t until he was out the door that she returned to the bedroom, her mind heavy with thoughts.
The room was chaotic with two adults and four kids rolling around on the carpet. At some point, Ziheng had joined in and was now excitedly riding on top of Danton.
Yi Luowa sat on the sofa, her heart in turmoil as she watched them. Not long after, Youyou brought Yu Lin and Yu Xiao into the room, filling it with the children’s laughter.
Unable to calm her nerves, Yi Luowa left after a short while and returned to the bedroom.
Just as she sat down, Ao Lie called. "Luowa, do we want the last trophy?"
"Of course!" Yi Luowa laughed. "We’ve waited years for that trophy."
"Then I’ll go ahead and sign us up."
"Alright. Where’s the race this time? I’m going in person."
"Country H."
Yi Luowa hesitated. "We have to go abroad again..."
"I can go for you. It’s the same thing. The race lasts a week—if you go, no one will be around to take care of the kids."
After a moment of thought, Yi Luowa said, "I’ll join you at practice tomorrow. We can decide then whether I’ll go."
"Alright, I’ll get your car ready tomorrow."
"It’s been a long time since I’ve touched a racing car." Yi Luowa chuckled. "By the way, Brother Ao Lie, have you met that girl I introduced to you?"
"I’ve been busy..."
"Put down the phone and go meet her right now!"
"Luowa—"
"I’m not talking to you anymore. If you don’t meet her, I won’t let you join this race! Even Brother Ao Xiang has become a father—you’re still wasting your time in some monk’s temple, letting life pass you by."
"Whoever said it’s a monk’s temple? Every time we train, there are plenty of female team members watching."
Yi Luowa teased, "Those few girls... Don’t tell me you’ve taken a liking to one of them. If you have, I can help you out."
"No, I haven’t. Stop meddling in my business—go take care of the kids."
The call disconnected, leaving Yi Luowa pouting. She scrolled through her phone and dialed another number.
"Dapeng, where are you?"
"Fourth Sister-in-law, I’m rocking the track out here," came Dapeng’s cheerful reply over the line.
"So you’re at the race track too?"
"How did you guess?"
"Where else would you be trying to act cool? How many of the female team members come for you?" 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
"All of them! Well...actually, only one comes for Brother Ao Lie."
"Is it the girl I introduced to him?"
"Yep. But Brother Ao Lie seems totally clueless and ignores her."
"Wait until I get back—I’ll deal with him." Yi Luowa rubbed her forehead. "You guys are all in the capital these days, right?"
"Yeah, everyone’s here."
"Good. Keep practicing then." Yi Luowa hung up and grabbed a pen and paper to draft an event plan for a social gathering.
After spending some time drafting, Yi Luowa checked the clock and called Jimo Shanshan.
"Shanshan, has your Fourth Brother gone into the operating room yet?"
"He’s in. He’ll be out soon."
Yi Luowa anxiously tapped the desktop. "Are you sure nothing will happen?"
"Nothing will happen. That last time Maizekai hyped up the risks, it was just to scare him out of doing the surgery."
"Really?"
"Really. Don’t worry, I’ll call you as soon as he comes out."
"Okay. I’m waiting for your update."
Yi Luowa hung up the phone and let out a deep sigh.
An hour later, Tong Airui came back, supported by Yuan Hang.
Long Che glanced at his son. "What happened to him?"
"He had a minor surgery." Tong Airui gave a quick signal to Yuan Hang, who helped him upstairs.
Suddenly, Tong Yao shot to her feet. "Rui’er, did you get a vasectomy?!"
"Yeah."
Tong Yao frowned as she exchanged a glance with Long Che, whose forehead was beginning to wrinkle.
"Even if it’s a small surgery, why didn’t you stay in the hospital?" Tong Yao chased after him to support her son.
"Old Seven said it was a minor procedure and didn’t require hospitalization. Uncle Jin will come over and give me a shot later—don’t worry." Tong Airui patted her hand reassuringly. "I’ll be fine in a day or two."
"If you have trouble with the stairs, just stay on the first floor."
"No need. Luowa can just bring meals upstairs for me these next few days."
Tong Yao quickened her pace, catching up, "You and Yuan Hang take it slow. I’ll check upstairs—your bedroom is probably a playground now. How about you lie down in Mom’s room for now?"
"I’ll go to the guest room."
Hearing the commotion, Yi Luowa quickly ran down the stairs. Seeing Tong Airui struggling on the stairs, her eyes filled with tears. "Why didn’t you tell me when you got back?"
Tong Airui gave her a discreet look.
Yi Luowa sniffled.
Tong Yao shot her son a disdainful look. "Alright, stop acting. It’s already done—I’m not going to scold you. Just go get some rest."
Yi Luowa pouted and reached out to support Tong Airui. "Does it hurt?"
"No."
Her eyes immediately became misty. "Yuan Hang, help him upstairs. I’ll go clear the guest room of the kids."
She dashed upstairs in a flurry. Shortly after, Danton and Ruan An Yang led the kids out of the master bedroom.
Danton glanced downstairs and saw his brother-in-law struggling to move. He paused. "Brother-in-law, are you okay?"
"I’m fine. Go play." Tong Airui waved his hand dismissively.
Danton nodded and led the kids into the guest room.
Back in the master bedroom, Fourth Brother finally lay on the bed after shooing away all the unrelated people. He groaned softly.
Yi Luowa hurried over. "Honey, does it hurt? Uncle Jin will be here soon."
"What were you doing just now?"
"I got you some water." Yi Luowa placed the cup on the bedside table. "It’s still a bit hot—wait a while before you drink it."
"Babe, you need to stay with me. When you’re here, I don’t feel any pain. The moment you’re away, it hurts like hell."
Yi Luowa kicked off her shoes and climbed onto the bed, slipping her hand under his neck. "I’ll hold you like this. Does it still hurt?"
"You’re the best wife ever! Now I feel so much better." Tong Airui snuggled into her embrace.
"What are you doing?!" Yi Luowa laughed, playfully swatting his shoulder.
"Imitating our son. When he used to nurse, he’d always burrow into your arms like this."
"Stop it. I didn’t close the door—don’t let anyone see us..."
"Qi Xin, come in," came Tong Yao’s voice from outside.
Yi Luowa gently pushed Tong Airui. "Uncle Jin is here."
"Babe, be more gentle—it hurts—"
Yi Luowa patted his face lightly, coaxing him like a child. "Alright, behave yourself. I’ll hold you again later."
That minor surgery became a big deal for Fourth Brother, who used it as an excuse to keep his wife by his side for three whole days. If she stepped away for even half a second, he’d start groaning about his pain.
Danton, who had been staying over, found himself promoted to temporary babysitter. The three kids even slept with him at night.
Early one morning, Yi Luowa opened Danton’s bedroom door to find one adult and three kids sprawled across a large bed. Upon closer inspection, she noticed a small bump at the foot of the bed.
Walking over suspiciously, Yi Luowa pulled back the blanket gently, revealing Ruan An Yang’s little head.
Yi Luowa shook her head, exasperated.
Ruan An Yang rubbed her eyes and looked up. "Luowa Sis..."
"An Yang, isn’t this uncomfortable? Why didn’t you go back to your own room?"
"I stayed up too late playing with them and fell asleep here." Ruan An Yang sat up. "Luowa Sis, is Fourth Brother feeling better?"
"He’s much better today." Yi Luowa smiled. "Get some more rest. I’ll go check on him. Call me when Ziyan and the others wake up, and I’ll help them get dressed."
"Mm." Ruan An Yang flopped back down onto the bed.
Her motion landed directly onto Danton’s foot, jolting him awake. He kicked her. "Are you trying to cripple me?!"
Ruan An Yang slapped his foot in retaliation. "I’m only a few dozen pounds—stop being so dramatic!"
Danton kicked her again before turning to Yi Luowa with a laugh. "Sis, I overheard Dad and Mom talking about holding a wedding ceremony for you and Brother-in-law. What are you guys planning to do?"
"Have they set the date yet?" Tong Airui entered, steadying himself against the wall.
"Don’t you need to coordinate with Uncle and Auntie first to pick a date?" Danton smirked as he looked at Tong Airui. "Besides, in your current state, you’re in no shape to have a wedding."
Tong Airui walked over to his wife with a grin, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. "If the wedding were tomorrow, I’d be fully recovered by today."
