Chapter 753: Chapter 631: No Wonder They Want to Kill Me (1st Update)

Danton curled his lips slightly, "No wonder they wanted to kill me."

An Yang was too young; there were some things he didn’t plan to tell her. When the plane crashed, his mind went entirely blank. When he came to, he was already on that pirate ship.

After boarding the ship, he alternated between moments of clarity and grogginess. During one of his brief awakenings, he overheard two men talking: "Catching Prince Haotian was a major achievement for us. When we return, the master will definitely reward us handsomely."

Danton felt that this plane crash was likely caused by him, but since no one asked him about it, he didn’t speak up either, to avoid making everyone worry about him.

An Yang pouted, "Handsome brother, the past is the past. Don’t dwell on it anymore; you’ll surely get better. When you do, I’ll take you out to play. Crescent Island has so many fun places... and lots of pretty girls too! If you fancy one of the girls from our Bashui tribe, I can introduce you."

Danton glanced at her, "Not interested."

An Yang felt an unexpected delight and teased, "Then, what do you like?"

Danton curled his lips slightly, "I like men!"

"Ah!" An Yang’s eyes widened in shock.

"Haha..."

Danton laughed, and An Yang finally realized she’d been tricked. Pouting, she said, "Handsome brother, you’re so bad! I’m not talking to you anymore!"

"Then go play." Danton said with a smile as he closed his eyes.

"You sleep, I won’t make a sound." An Yang didn’t really want to leave but propped up her chin as she stared at Danton.

Danton’s eyelashes, like little brushes, fluttered slightly.

An Yang immediately averted her gaze.

Danton’s Adam’s apple moved, but he didn’t open his eyes.

An Yang let out a long breath. When he seemed asleep, she resumed resting her chin in her hands, staring at him.

Shui Hui emerged from Queen Haotian’s room, passing by the VIP ward. She saw her daughter gazing starry-eyed at Danton and shook her head helplessly.

Standing at the door, Shui Hui beckoned her daughter to come out. An Yang pouted and dragged herself out.

Shui Hui held her hand and whispered, "Come home with Mom."

"I don’t want to go; I still want to stay with my handsome brother." An Yang tugged at her mother’s hand.

Shui Hui applied a gentle force to hold her daughter’s hand firmly, "Be good!"

"Mom, only Aunt Zhi Lan and Seven Brother are here now. If we leave, there’ll be hardly anyone left."

Shui Hui let out a soft sigh, "Then spend more time with your aunt. Stop running around Danton, the Prince needs quiet rest."

An Yang nodded earnestly, "I know. I went in today because handsome brother was crying. I wanted to console him; otherwise, I wouldn’t have gone in either. Mom, if you’re busy, you can go ahead—I’ll stay here with Aunt Zhi Lan."

Queen Haotian came over with a smile, "Shui Hui, let An Yang stay. I’ll have some company."

Shui Hui smiled helplessly, "Fine, let her stay. If she doesn’t behave, just tell me, and I’ll deal with her."

An Yang pouted, "Mom, I’m being good!"

Shui Hui poked her daughter’s forehead sharply, "You take care of yourself! If I find out you’re misbehaving, I’ll deal with you!"

An Yang yelped in pain, darting behind Queen Haotian, "Aunt Zhi Lan, look at her—Mom’s always rough with me."

Queen Haotian chuckled and shielded her behind her.

Shui Hui glared at her daughter, "If you behaved, would I need to hit you?"

"I’m way better behaved than my brother; you should go home and manage him instead." An Yang waved dismissively at her, "You’d better go back."

Shui Hui smiled helplessly, "Fine, I’ll leave. I’ll make some tasty food at home and bring it here for you."

Before Queen Haotian could respond, Shui Hui hurried off.

An Yang saw Queen Haotian pause and quickly explained, "Aunt Zhi Lan, Mom is just like that—always rushing around in a whirlwind."

Queen Haotian smiled and said, "I wasn’t pausing for that—I was momentarily trying to find the right words to gently persuade your mother not to overwork herself."

"It’s okay, Auntie. My mom doesn’t actually cook. Even if she says she will, she just lets the kitchen staff handle it." An Yang said, stealing a glance at the door of Danton’s hospital room.

Queen Haotian followed her gaze and saw her son closing his eyes, clearly stifling a laugh. Smiling, she patted An Yang’s hand, "Come sit with me for a while."

An Yang turned to glance back at Danton before linking arms with Queen Haotian and heading into her room.

...

Yi Luowa walked straight upstairs as soon as she entered the house.

Youyou saw her returning and jumped off the bed with a bright grin, "Sis, you’re back so soon!"

"Danton’s already awake. Everyone has their own things to attend to, and I was thinking about you and Joyina, so I came back early." Yi Luowa helped her back onto the bed. "How have you been resting these past few days?"
