Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 752 - 630: The Three of You Are at the Same Starting Line (Part 3)
The two of them murmured for a while, and Yi Luowa’s earlier worries eased a little. Sangyu couldn’t understand what they were saying and soon fell asleep in her mother’s arms.
Tong Airui quickly picked up his daughter and placed her on the bed. "The kid has been suffering along with us these past few days."
Yi Luowa glanced at him expressionlessly. "Tomorrow, take them back."
Tong Airui turned to look at her. "I didn’t mean anything else."
"I know." Yi Luowa steadied herself against the bedside table and stood up. "You organize things; I’ll go find Ziyan."
Tong Airui raised his eyebrows slightly. "Ziyan is with Dad."
"Oh." Yi Luowa frowned slightly and pushed the door open to leave.
Tong Airui reached out to stroke his daughter’s little face and said, "Your mom is mad at Dad, but I really didn’t mean anything else."
Outside the door, Yi Luowa pursed her lips and walked straight to her father-in-law’s room. By the time she entered, Ziyan was already asleep in his grandfather’s arms.
Long Che saw her come in and asked, "Sangyu’s asleep too, right? These two kids don’t sleep well in new places; yesterday it took quite a while for them to settle down on the hotel bed."
"Yes, asleep." Yi Luowa pressed her lips together. "Dad, let’s head back tomorrow. You and Tong Airui can’t stay away for too long, and my dad needs to meet with Mutta Da tomorrow."
Long Che nodded. "Going back sounds good. Your uncle just became a grandfather. He barely got a chance to enjoy his grandson before coming along with us."
Yi Luowa responded apologetically, tucked her son in with the blanket, and turned to leave the room.
She went to her mother’s room, but before she could speak, the Queen of Haotian spoke first, saying they should leave tomorrow.
Yi Luowa looked at her father, who nodded in agreement. She sighed softly. "Mom, I’ll leave Kou’er here with you. If you need anything, you can have her handle it."
The Queen of Haotian laughed. "I’m not lacking people to look after me. Just relax and go. Once Danton can travel by plane, I’ll bring him back. Kaikai came just now and explained Danton’s condition to us. Don’t stress yourself out. I refuse to believe my son will be paralyzed for life."
The Emperor of Haotian looked at his daughter and laughed. "I think Kaikai is quite confident. As long as he’s confident, Danton will surely be fine."
Yi Luowa recognized her parents were trying to comfort her. She nodded firmly, chatted with them for a while, then went out to arrange everything. In the end, Kou’er and Maizekai stayed behind while the others returned together.
Before leaving, Yi Luowa went to see her brother. Danton knew she was leaving and grinned as he blinked. "Don’t worry!"
Yi Luowa sniffled. "If you really want me not to worry, then recover quickly. Also, don’t do anything foolish again, understand?"
Danton blinked once.
Yi Luowa held his left hand tightly. "When you return to Haotian, I’ll come to visit you."
Danton smiled. "I’ll... visit... you."
Yi Luowa patted the back of his hand and said with a smile, "If it’s hard to talk, then don’t bother saying anything. I’ll be back home. We’ll video call every day, and Ziyan and Sangyu will keep you company while you practice talking. The three of you are just starting on the same level."
Danton’s lips curled into a slight smile. "Alright."
"Focus on getting better and don’t overthink things."
"Okay." Danton rested briefly before straining to say, "Safe... travels!"
"Alright, safe travels." Yi Luowa chuckled and stroked his cheek. Honestly, she wanted to ask him more about the day the plane incident happened, but worried it might upset him, so she refrained.
"Go on." Danton gripped his sister’s hand firmly.
"Okay." Yi Luowa smiled and stood up. "I’m leaving."
After Yi Luowa walked out of the hospital room, everyone gradually came by to bid Danton farewell. The Emperor of Haotian entered last, said nothing, gripped his son’s shoulder firmly, then turned and walked out the door.
Danton watched the backs of everyone leaving, tears streaming from the corners of his eyes.
When the Queen of Haotian was seeing everyone off, An Yang sneaked into the room. "Handsome brother, why are you crying?"
Danton froze. He hadn’t lost his memory, yet who was this little girl? Why couldn’t he recall her?
"Hehe... I’m An Yang," An Yang said as she dragged a chair over to the bedside. "You definitely don’t know who I am."
"Be...n..." Danton smiled, realizing the benefactor his mom had told him about was actually a little girl.
An Yang pouted. "Benefactor? Stop mentioning that! I’ve wanted to visit you for a while, but my parents wouldn’t let me near you. They said you needed to recover."
Danton spoke one word at a time. "I’m... fine... now."
An Yang stared at him intently. "Talking seems difficult. Just lie quietly and I’ll talk to you. What do you like to hear?"
Danton smiled. "Anything."
An Yang scratched her head and grinned awkwardly. "I won’t ask you then; I’ll just talk. If you don’t like something, close your eyes, and I’ll switch to another topic. Handsome brother, let me tell you—I used to dream of enrolling in military school so I could join Dad, Mom, and Brother in protecting the Ba Shui people. But Seventh Sister-in-law said soldiers rarely see their families, so now I’m reconsidering. These past few days in the hospital, I’ve started to feel doctors are pretty great too. If I become a doctor someday, I could treat all kinds of patients like you. What do you think?"
Danton smiled and nodded.
An Yang pouted. "You’re not brushing me off, are you?"
Danton said seriously, "No..."
"Haha, alright, then I won’t disturb you. I’ll keep talking." An Yang smiled at him. "Handsome brother, your whole family is so good-looking!"
Danton chuckled softly.
After Shui Hui returned after dropping people off at the airport, she immediately noticed her daughter sitting in the hospital room. "An Yang, come out! Let Prince Danton rest."
An Yang scrunched her nose, pointed at her mother standing at the door, and said to Danton, "That’s my mom—Ms. Shui Hui. She has severe violent tendencies. If you meet her in the future, avoid her."
The Queen of Haotian overheard this outside and laughed. "This child is quite amusing."
Shui Hui shook her head helplessly. "Spoiled rotten."
"I think An Yang’s quite delightful. Don’t scold her; young people can connect well. Let them chat for a while."
Shui Hui hesitated a little. "I’m just worried she’ll disturb Danton’s rest."
The Queen of Haotian held Shui Hui’s hand and led her away from the door. "Danton’s dad and sister just left; he must be feeling down. Let An Yang keep him company for a bit—maybe it’ll even lift his spirits."
Shui Hui smiled reluctantly. "I’m just afraid she’ll bug him."
The Queen of Haotian chuckled. "Danton has a good disposition; most people wouldn’t be able to bother him."
"You’re lucky to have two such remarkable children."
"I quite like your two as well."
Sitting in the hospital room, An Yang smirked to herself. "My mom rarely speaks so gently."
Danton curiously asked, "What... was she... like before?"
An Yang looked at him with surprise. "Handsome brother, you just said five whole words at once!"
Danton smiled at her. "Tell... me... about it."
An Yang stood up laughing, one hand on her hip and the other pointing at the chair she had just sat in, growling, "An Yang, you little rascal, if you don’t study properly, I’ll crush your bones to pieces!"
Danton almost burst out laughing.
When An Yang noticed his amusement, she continued her performance.
"Watch closely—this one’s about my brother... Ruan Hanmo, if you don’t bring me a daughter-in-law this year, I swear I’ll ruin you!"
After imitating her mother, she switched to imitating her brother, bouncing her foot lightly on the floor. "Mom, keep your composure; watch out or Dad might divorce you."
Just as she said this, she placed both hands on her hips again and retorted, "You little brat! You’re just waiting for your father to divorce me, aren’t you?"
"Haha..." Danton couldn’t help but laugh aloud.
"Shh, don’t laugh too loudly; Seventh Brother and Seventh Sister-in-law said you need to rest quietly." An Yang hesitated a bit. "I think I better not disturb you further."
"An Yang..." Danton quickly called out, stopping her as she was about to leave.
An Yang stepped forward toward the room. "Handsome brother, do you have something to say to me?"
"Yes." Danton raised a finger slightly, signaling her to sit down.
An Yang quickly took a seat, leaning her chin on her hands. "Go ahead, I’m listening."
"My mom told me... you saved me on the island ship?" Danton said, his words not only clearer but also longer this time.
An Yang nodded. "Yep, back then you had a gunshot wound in your shoulder and were lying in a pool of blood. Can you imagine how lucky you were to hold on until I found you?"
Danton frowned slightly. "Were those people really pirates?"
"No, they were soldiers from R Nation. After Haotian destroyed their country, they turned to piracy."
"No wonder..."
An Yang leaned closer to him. "Handsome brother, no wonder what?"
