Chapter 735: Chapter 618: False Military Report (Three Updates)

"I’ll go with you." Yi Luowa reached out to support her, but Tong Yao quickly took Youyou from her daughter-in-law’s hands. "I’ll accompany Youyou. You don’t need to keep running back and forth."

Yan Zi was pacing, wringing her hands in anxiety. "What can I do?"

Yi Luowa smiled and said, "Aunt, you don’t need to do anything. Just sit and wait."

"You! You’ve given birth to three kids already. What’s there to be so nervous about?!" Madam Jing Ya walked over with Prince Charles on her arm. "Rui’er’s car is already ready. Once Youyou comes out, we’ll head off."

Youyou had been inside for ages, and everyone had waited just as long. Yan Zi nervously walked to the door of the bathroom, gripping Tong Yao’s hand. "Why hasn’t she come out yet? Could something have gone wrong?"

"She was just talking to me earlier and said she had some diarrhea."

Just as Tong Yao finished speaking, Youyou pushed open the door and walked out listlessly.

Yan Zi frowned in confusion. "What’s wrong with you? You look like you’re in pain and completely out of it."

Youyou scratched her head awkwardly. "Um, um, it doesn’t hurt as much anymore."

Yan Zi explained, "Childbirth is like that. It hurts for a while, then doesn’t, and then starts hurting again."

Youyou pouted. "It’s not on and off for me. It was hurting nonstop, but after finishing in the bathroom, it doesn’t hurt as much anymore."

Yan Zi and Tong Yao exchanged glances. Tong Yao laughed and asked, "Youyou, are you sure it wasn’t contractions just now?"

"It doesn’t feel quite like what the nanny described as contractions."

Tong Yao pulled out her phone and called Jin Qixin.

Jin Qixin rushed over. After a quick check, it turned out to be just a case of an upset stomach, not labor.

As soon as Jin Qixin left, everyone burst out laughing around Youyou.

Youyou covered her face with a magazine. "I’m already so embarrassed, and you’re all still laughing at me!"

Joyina snatched the magazine from her hand and laughed. "I’ve never seen anyone as clueless as you! You can’t even tell if they’re contractions!"

"I’ve never given birth before. How would I know?"

"The nanny’s told us plenty of times!"

"She said it, I heard it, but... Hey, get away from me!" Youyou reached out to push her but quickly retracted her hand upon seeing her baby bump.

"We’ll have the nanny explain it to you again later." Yi Luowa stood up with a smile. "Don’t pull another false alarm like this! You scared us half to death."

"Waaah... I want mommy!" A cry came from the bedroom.

Yi Luowa hurried toward the bedroom while Tong Yao’s eyelid twitched with fright.

Tong Airui followed after her, helping her into the bedroom.

"Mommy’s not gone." Sangyu rubbed her eyes and climbed out of bed.

Ziyan pouted and climbed down too. "Mommy, where did you go?"

"Mommy’s in the living room, talking to everyone. Mommy would never leave you two." Yi Luowa smiled and pinched Ziyan’s little nose.

Sangyu tilted her head and pointed at her own nose expectantly.

Yi Luowa smiled and gently tapped her nose.

"Hehe..."

Yi Luowa chuckled as she took both of their little hands. "Come with Mommy to wash your faces and freshen up, then we can go out and play."

"Okay!"

"Alright."

Tong Airui silently followed the three of them into the bathroom.

Yi Luowa glanced back at him. "Why are you coming in too?"

"Just providing added protection," Tong Airui said with a slight furrow of his brows. "Don’t you think Youyou’s a bit silly? Who does things like this? I even called over to Saint Cyr and got Old Eight seven days off, yet she wasn’t even in labor. Why’d he come back for nothing?"

"She’s a first-timer, so she doesn’t have experience. Since Old Eight is back, it’s fine. When it’s time for him to leave, we’ll help take care of Youyou together."

"I’ve never seen someone so silly. Just thinking about it annoys me." Tong Airui pulled his son over and brought him to the sink.

"Daddy, I can do it myself." Ziyan pouted at his father’s stern expression.

"If you do it yourself, your sleeves will get wet, and then you’ll have to change. Don’t make things harder for your mom." Tong Airui shot his son a glance. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Yi Luowa pouted, grabbed his ear, and turned him toward the mirror. "Look at your face—it’s as black as a pot bottom. How can the kids not be scared?"

"Exactly!" Sangyu poked her father’s thigh with a tiny finger. "Bad! Grandpa will spank your butt."

"Ha~" Tong Airui couldn’t help but laugh. "Daddy’s not angry at you two. Now, let Mommy wash your faces."

"I want my hair combed first!"

"Fine, let’s comb your hair first." Yi Luowa smiled gently.

After tending to the two little troublemakers, the four of them finally came out of the room.

Youyou pouted when she saw Yi Luowa come out. "Sis, Joyina and Connie keep laughing at me! And they just won’t stop."

"Let them laugh. Laughing doesn’t cost you any flesh." Yi Luowa grinned. "To be honest, I want to laugh at you too! Hahaha..."

"Ugh! Stop laughing already!" Youyou wanted to crawl into a hole.

Because of Youyou’s false alarm, Ni Lu and Jack had come over early, and Mi Chenxuan had rushed back as well. In the end, everyone waited eagerly, but neither Youyou’s nor Joyina’s stomachs showed any signs of action.

Jack stayed for three days before giving up and leaving.

Mi Chenxuan, however, spent every day with his ear pressed to Youyou’s belly, negotiating with his son to come out quickly.

Sometimes the little guy didn’t respond at all. Other times, annoyed by his dad’s nagging, he’d kick two little feet in protest.

Reclining on the sofa, Mi Chenxuan sighed. "Sigh... Daddy only has two days left before I have to leave. Take care of it yourself, buddy. If you don’t come out, it’ll be another year before we meet."

Youyou tugged his ear. "Not a year. After my confinement period, I’ll take the baby to see you."

"Don’t wear yourself out like that. If you go, Mom will have to follow, and then no one will be here to look after Sis-in-law." Mi Chenxuan turned his head and saw Yi Luowa leading the two kids out the door. Smiling, he waved at Sangyu. "Come over here and let Uncle Eight hold you."

"No!" Sangyu darted behind her mom.

Mi Chenxuan turned to Ziyan with a grin. "Will you let Uncle Eight hold you?"

"No!" Ziyan pouted.

"What’s with this?"

"Haha... These two little rascals!" Ni Lu laughed. "Since you came back, Luowa hasn’t let them play with Youyou, and now they’re holding a grudge."

"A grudge? Against your mom, sure—but why blame me?" Mi Chenxuan laughed as he walked over. "I’m heading out for a walk. Go play with your eighth aunt."

"Uncle Eight, when are you leaving?" Sangyu peeked half her face out from behind her mom.

"Right now. Go ahead, clap your hands in celebration." Mi Chenxuan laughed, ruffling her little bun of hair.

Sangyu huffed and darted away to her eighth aunt’s side.

Youyou laughed, scooping her into her arms.

"Fourth Sis-in-law, our instructor gave a lecture one day about the Four Nations War." Mi Chenxuan said, giving Ziyan’s little bottom a pat. "You go too."

Ziyan rubbed his butt and ran over to Youyou.

Yi Luowa looked at Mi Chenxuan with a smile. "Which four nations?"

"Xiawu, Haotian, Bei Di, and R Nation."

Yi Luowa’s jaw dropped in shock. "Why’s your instructor talking about that?"

"He gave us an assignment to devise battle strategies for it. None of the submissions satisfied him. So, he said, ’You lot are worse than Haotian Princess, who never even went to military school!’"

Yi Luowa clicked her tongue. "Was he complimenting me or dissing me?"

"Obviously complimenting. He spent an entire class analyzing that battle. Fourth Sis-in-law, I really admire you! After class, I bragged to my classmates, saying the Haotian Princess is my sister-in-law..."

"And they all booed you, right?" Yi Luowa chuckled.

"Who’d dare boo me? I have photographic evidence." Mi Chenxuan puffed his chest with pride.

Sangyu grabbed onto Youyou’s arm, pouting. "Why hasn’t Uncle Eight left yet?"

Youyou waved him off. "Stop rambling. Even Sangyu’s sick of you... Ow! My stomach hurts again!"

Youyou clutched her stomach, her face twisted in pain.

With a bang, Joyina pushed open her door, clutching the doorframe. "Old Eight, call your brother quickly! My stomach... it hurts!"

"OMG! Are you two really going to deliver together?!" Ni Lu pulled down her daughter’s hand and, seeing Mi Chenxuan still standing there dumbfounded, urged him. "Xuanxuan, go get the car ready!"

Glancing at Youyou, Mi Chenxuan’s knees nearly buckled. "W-Wait, I’ll go get the car right away."

Yi Luowa shook her head helplessly and made a call to her mother-in-law.

Soon enough, Tong Yao was pulling Yan Zi downstairs.

Yi Luowa quickly placed calls to Maizekai and Mi Chenshuo. Once everything was arranged, she turned around to see the two pregnant women clutching their bellies, wailing on the sofa.

Sangyu and Ziyan blinked in shock, and Yi Luowa quickly led the two little ones upstairs. "You two go play with your aunt and brother for a while. Mommy needs to take your aunts to the hospital."

"But we said we wouldn’t separate!" Sangyu’s little face scrunched into a tiny bun.
