Chapter 700: Chapter 592: Plane Crash (Part One)

Yi Luowa pouted and said, "He’s so disobedient! Let him suffer a little, I won’t feel sorry for him!"

Tong Yao chuckled and said, "You’re all talk! If you weren’t worried about him, would your mood be this bad?"

Yi Luowa glanced helplessly at her mother-in-law. "Mom, sigh..."

"Alright, stop sighing like an old lady. Rui’er will definitely help you find Danton. You’ve been flying around these past few days; you must be tired. Go upstairs and rest for a bit. I’ll call you when it’s time to eat."

Yi Luowa sniffled. "Mom, I’m not tired. The moment I came back, my mood improved. I’ll go check on Zi Heng and come back down shortly."

"Little brother!" Zi Yan’s eyes lit up when he heard his mom mention his little brother’s name, and he turned to look at Sang Yu.

Sang Yu was sliding off her grandpa’s lap. "See little brother!"

"You two stopped giving each other the cold shoulder?" Long Che asked with a chuckle.

"Look at little brother with big brother!" Sang Yu stubbornly climbed down from her grandpa’s lap and stretched her hand out toward her older brother.

Zi Yan broke into a wide grin and tightly held his little sister’s hand. The two siblings held hands as they walked toward the stairs.

Yi Luowa was worried they might fall and was just about to help them when Tong Airui pulled her back. "Leave them be. You can’t always be there for them."

"But what if they fall?"

"Then they’ll pick themselves up where they fell."

Yi Luowa looked nervously at the two children.

Zi Yan held his sister’s hand tightly as he stepped onto the first stair.

Sang Yu’s legs were obviously a bit short, and climbing just one stair made her break into a sweat.

Zi Yan glanced at her, hesitated for a moment, and then let go of her hand. "Climb!"

Sang Yu looked up at the tall staircase, then bent down.

The two little ones quickly climbed halfway up the stairs on hands and feet. Long Che followed behind them, laughing.

Tong Airui smiled and said, "They’ll be just fine without us."

"When you were little, did Dad train you this way too?"

"When we were little, Dad pretty much ignored us," Tong Airui said with a smile, glancing at his mother. "Mom, at that time, did Dad secretly wish he could give us all away?"

"Stop making up stories about me!" Long Che shot his son a sharp look.

Tong Yao chuckled and said, "No matter what, Rui’er is doing a better job as a dad than you did!"

"I didn’t do such a bad job, and they all turned out great, didn’t they? Ask those old guys to compare their kids to ours and see who’s better!"

Tong Aino heard the noise and walked out of the nursery, leaning on the railing with a big grin. "Wasn’t I always a disappointment in your eyes? Now hearing you praise me, why am I not the least bit happy?"

"You were a fluke. Don’t tell anyone outside that you’re my son!" Long Che glared at him.

Tong Aino pouted and then saw the two little ones nearly at the second floor. He smirked and said, "Poor kiddos, why did you get stuck with such heartless parents who don’t even care about you? Don’t worry, if they don’t care, your uncle will."

As Tong Aino spoke, he headed downstairs and reached out to pick up Sang Yu. Sang Yu quickly pushed his hand away. "I can do it myself!"

"You little rascal, then I’ll carry Zi Yan instead." Tong Aino laughed and reached out to Zi Yan.

Zi Yan snorted, "I can do it myself too!"

"I get it now, in this house, it seems my son is the only one who doesn’t mind me," Tong Aino said with a laugh as he stood back up. "Sister-in-law, why are you back so soon from Hao Tian?"

"Your brother wouldn’t let me stay," Yi Luowa said briskly as she headed up the stairs.

Tong Aino teased, "Since when could he control you? Did you get news about Danton?"

"Not yet. We just didn’t want anyone finding out that Danton isn’t at the palace and getting any bad ideas. Your brother and I brought Danton’s stand-in back home," Yi Luowa said, turning to look at Tong Airui, who was still downstairs. "Did you get that person settled?"

"Yes, all set."

Seeing the two kids had reached the second floor, Yi Luowa quickly called out, "You two, wash your hands before going to see your little brother. Aino, is Zi Heng awake?"

"He just woke up. Let them go straight in; no need to wash their hands!"

"Staying clean is a good habit," Long Che said as he led his grandchildren by the hand toward his room.

Tong Aino said with a grin, "The moment you left, Dad seemed to lose his mind for a few days..."

Yi Luowa playfully kicked him. "Do you even know how to talk?"

Tong Aino winced and gave a toothy grin. "But I’m not wrong, am I?"

Tong Yao, still downstairs, laughed and said, "No wonder your dad calls you a fluke. If he hears what you just said, he’d definitely put you in your place!"

Tong Aino scratched his head, suddenly realizing something, and then chuckled. "Whatever I do, Dad doesn’t approve of me anyway, so I might as well bask in it! Brother, still no news about Danton?"
