Chapter 690: Chapter 584: The Direction Home (Second Update)

"The baby is crying!" Little Raindrop shouted. Everyone looked at each other, and this sound of crying was a relief for many.

The Queen Haotian patted her chest. "The little one is fine, Holly must hold on!"

"Holly will be okay." Tong Yao rubbed her chest to ease its tightness, comforting her.

"We’ve grown old; we can’t handle such scares anymore." The Queen Haotian reached out and grabbed Tong Yao’s hand, and the two supported each other to sit down on the waiting chair.

Yi Luowa was completely out of sorts, and upon hearing the baby’s crying sound, she couldn’t quite believe it. She looked up at Tong Airui and asked, "Is the baby crying?"

"Yes." Tong Airui patted her head. "Silly wife, your reaction time is way too slow."

Yi Luowa broke free from his embrace and ran to the delivery room’s door, grabbing Little Raindrop and asking, "Sister, did the baby cry just now?"

"Cried, really cried! There’s movement inside; maybe they’re bringing out the baby now." Little Raindrop said as she hugged Yi Luowa tightly. At this moment, she was truly afraid Yi Luowa might collapse like before.

The nurse quickly came out carrying the baby. "Take a look; I’ll take him to the nursery room."

Yi Luowa, being closest to the door, glanced at the baby and immediately asked, "Is the baby okay?"

"He’s fine. During delivery, the umbilical cord had wrapped around his neck, causing brief suffocation. The doctor has checked, and all his indicators are normal now."

Yi Luowa reached out for the baby. "He’s fine, so let me hold him. We don’t need the nursery room."

Tong Airui shook his head helplessly. His wife was acting up again!

"Wifey, this entire floor is ours; there are no other babies around."

Yi Luowa refused firmly. "No way, I promised Holly I’d keep an eye on the baby for her!"

Yi Luowa practically snatched the baby and held him tightly in her arms.

Haotian lowered his head in guilt as he looked at his daughter’s intense focus on the baby.

Tong Yao gently patted the back of Yi Luowa’s hand and turned to the nurse. "Is it a boy or a girl? Has Holly’s bleeding stopped?"

"It’s a boy. The mother’s bleeding hasn’t completely stopped, but it’s much less than before."

Yi Luowa anxiously looked at Jimo Shanshan. "Shanshan, when will Dr. Hong arrive?"

"Here he comes!" Dr. Hong hurried over. "Don’t worry, I’ll go check things out."

Yi Luowa looked at Dr. Hong like he was her savior and pleaded, "Please, I’m counting on you!"

"Mrs. Luowa, rest assured, I’ll do my best." Dr. Hong reassured her as he followed the nurse quickly into the delivery room.

As the door opened, Yi Luowa, tears in her eyes, shouted inside, "Holly, you better hold on! Otherwise, I’m selling your son!"

Holly didn’t hear this, but Yi Weiyang did. He tightly clutched Holly’s hand, his eyes reddened, and he choked up, saying to the unconscious Holly, "You haven’t even seen your baby yet, and Luowa’s already threatening to sell him..."

Holly’s eyelashes fluttered slightly. She wanted to open her eyes and yell at Yi Luowa, but her eyelids were so heavy that the more she tried, the more impossible it felt.

In her daze, she saw her mother approaching, saying as she walked, "Come with me, dear. My world has no sickness, no deception..."

"Go away!" Holly mustered all her strength with her one movable hand, desperately pushing away.

Yi Weiyang was startled. "Holly?"

"Don’t agitate the patient! You, go outside." Dr. Hong put on gloves and moved toward the delivery bed.

Yi Weiyang sighed, stood up slowly, and walked out.

Inside the room, the doctors worked anxiously to save Holly. Outside, emotions were a mix of elation and worry.

When Yi Weiyang came out, the family surrounded him. Yi Luowa asked with teary eyes, "Uncle, is Holly okay?"

Yi Weiyang shook his head. "She’s fine; she was talking just now."

Tong Yao patted Yi Weiyang on the shoulder and said resolutely, "Second Uncle, don’t worry too much. Holly will surely be fine... You haven’t seen the baby yet, have you? The little one is so cute; he even has blue eyes like his mom!"

"Blue eyes, huh! Looks like our Dylan finally has some company in the family!"

Teng Ai Ni put Dylan to sleep and hurried over. As she entered the lobby, running into Uncle Li and Auntie Li coming out of the elevator, they overheard Tong Yao’s words.

Tong Yao made a silencing gesture to her daughter. "Don’t shout; Holly’s still inside."

Teng Ai Ni quickly tiptoed.

Three more hearts joined in worrying for Holly outside the door, while inside, the intense silence was unnerving.

Two hours had passed since the baby was born, yet Holly was still inside.

Yi Luowa held the baby tightly, nervously staring at the delivery room’s door, not daring to make a sound. She knew everyone was on edge, and she feared her words might snap someone’s nerves.

Yi Weiyang kept his eyes closed to rest, but his slightly glistening eyelashes betrayed his emotions.

Finally, the door opened again, and Dr. Hong stepped out, visibly exhausted.

The family crowded around him.

"The mother is out of danger and will be out soon."

Everyone immediately cheered with joy. Yi Luowa blinked and reached out to push her uncle’s shoulder. "Uncle, did you hear that? Holly’s okay!"

Yi Weiyang nodded vigorously.

"Uncle, hold the baby for once!" Yi Luowa brought the baby to him. "You’ve never held him since the moment he was born!"

Yi Weiyang gave his son a loving glance and replied with a smile to Yi Luowa, "You hold him for now; I’ll wait for Holly to come out."

For the first time since arriving at the hospital, Yi Luowa smiled. "Uncle, looks like you care more about Holly than this little guy."

Yi Weiyang chuckled. "Is that so strange?"

Yi Luowa shook her head quickly. "Not strange, not at all."

As the uncle and niece joked around, Holly was pushed out.

Tong Airui immediately helped Yi Weiyang and Yi Luowa up.

Holly looked at everyone’s concerned faces and apologized, "I’m sorry to make you all wait so long..."

"We’re family; don’t say things like that. Be careful, or everyone will gang up on you later!" Yi Luowa walked over holding the baby. "Let’s head back to the ward; we can talk there."

Holly was taken back to her ward. As soon as she lay down, she said to Yi Weiyang, "Uncle, make sure no one goes hungry."

"Still full of energy, eh!" Tong Yao laughed. "No need to worry about us; Rui’er already took care of everything."

Holly smiled and said, "It feels so good to be alive, and even better to see you all..."

Her gaze fell on the baby in Yi Luowa’s arms. "Piggy, whose baby are you holding?"

Yi Luowa smiled. "My uncle’s. Want to take a look?"

"No."

"Really, not even a peek?"

Holly pouted. "Why should I look? What does he have to do with me?"

"Seems like the two of you really don’t have much to do with each other!" Yi Luowa rolled her eyes at her and hid behind her uncle, holding the baby.

Yi Weiyang turned and glanced, smiling as he received the baby. "Luowa, you go eat with everyone else; I’ll stay here with Holly and the baby."

Yi Luowa smiled and nodded. Now that Holly and the baby were both safe, she was willing to do anything.

Holly recovered quickly and sneaked back to the manor after just five days in the hospital. She was worried that if she stayed any longer, Long Che and Tong Airui might assassinate her.

It wasn’t just Luowa watching over her constantly—it was also her two moms who never left her side. Their statuses made it almost laughable to have them tending to her postpartum recovery.

Yi Luowa understood Holly’s concerns, so she didn’t say much. Holly stayed at home, and Yi Luowa kept visiting the manor.

Just as Holly’s postpartum care was completed, Connie started showing signs.

Tong Aino was sleeping soundly in the middle of the night when his wife said her stomach hurt. Without notifying anyone, he took Connie to the hospital.

As they arrived at the hospital entrance, Connie grabbed Tong Aino’s hand tightly and said, "Honey, it doesn’t hurt anymore."

Tong Aino negotiated with her. "Well, since we’re here, we might as well go inside."

Connie looked at him pitifully and said, "I’m scared; I don’t want to go in."

Tong Aino helplessly patted her head. "Alright, let’s go home then."

As soon as the car reached the Duke’s residence, Connie’s stomach began hurting again.

Tong Aino promptly asked Yun Jin to drive back to the hospital.

Connie was restless all night, leaving her speechless. When they arrived at the hospital, the pain subsided; when they went home, the pain returned. Thankfully, Tong Aino humored her every whim. They neither checked into the hospital nor went home, but instead stayed in the car all night.

At dawn, Tong Aino finally called their parents to inform them Connie was in labor.

Tong Yao was stunned after hearing his son’s explanation. "So where are you two now?"

"We’re in the car," Tong Aino replied, looking outside the car window. He asked dizzily, "Yun Jin, are we heading home or to the hospital?"

Yun Jin stifled a laugh. "We’re headed home."

Tong Yao exploded in anger upon hearing this. "Drive to the hospital right now! Your dad and I will head over immediately!"
