Chapter 686: Chapter 581: Please Think Hard About It With Your Knees! (Second Update)

Yi Luowa snatched the phone from his hand, pointed at the name on the screen, and asked, "Can you be any more childish?"

Tong Airui’s lips twitched. He had changed the name yesterday, after scolding Joyina and going upstairs, but he hadn’t expected his wife to discover it so quickly.

"Honey, I learned this from you. You and Huo Li have nicknames for each other, don’t you?"

Yi Luowa angrily threw the phone onto the bed. "Stop blaming everything on me. Change the name back right now! And listen, if you ever drag me or Senior into this mess again, I won’t let you off easily!"

Tong Airui lowered his head obediently and picked up the phone, changing the name back. "What did he say to you, anyway?"

"Don’t assume everyone is as petty as you!"

Tong Airui chuckled. "I just clarified a few things with him. If he weren’t petty, why would he call you to tattletale on me?"

"Who said he tattled on you to me?" Yi Luowa shot him a disdainful look. "He tried calling you, but you didn’t have your phone with you."

"I used your phone to call him. The moment I hung up, he called my phone next. What does he want? Use your knee to think it through thoroughly!"

"Well, now I know—you’ve been thinking with your knee all along! No wonder your thoughts always stray off the human track."

Tong Airui looked deeply at his fuming wife and burst out laughing. "I’m not going to argue with you about this anymore. I won’t fall for his schemes. If we start fighting, he’ll be the one pleased!"

Yi Luowa gave him a dissatisfied sideways glance.

Tong Airui raised his hand and gently stroked his wife’s cheek. "Don’t be mad anymore. From now on, if I can’t sleep, I’ll chat with someone else—not him. Did he say what’s up? Don’t delay important stuff."

Yi Luowa pouted and lay back down. "He didn’t say anything to me. Call him back and ask yourself."

Tong Airui pressed the redial button; barely a ring later, Justine answered the call.

Tong Airui asked firmly, "You called me for something?"

"Airui, please apologize to Luowa for me. I thought you’d have your phone on you, but I ended up waking her up instead."

Tong Airui raised an eyebrow, slid his hand under the blanket, and gave his wife a light pinch.

Yi Luowa instinctively covered her chest, glaring at him fiercely.

Tong Airui grinned and said, "Honey, don’t sleep just yet. Your senior asked me to apologize to you on his behalf."

"If there’s an apology owed, it’s from us to him. You two talk business; don’t worry about me."

Tong Airui chuckled. "Did you hear that? My wife says to talk business."

Justine laughed helplessly. "Childish fool! I just wanted to ask, how many students this year got into Saint-Cyr?"

Tong Airui furrowed his brow as he climbed into bed, then reached out to pull his wife into his arms. "Did you hear that? Your senior disturbed you early in the morning just to talk this kind of business!"

Yi Luowa rolled her eyes dramatically inwardly. Clearly, those two were equally unreliable.

Tong Airui noticed his wife dismissing her senior too, and laughed as he replied to Justine, "Three or four."

"Oh—then that’s all I needed."

Justine ended the call just like that. Tong Airui frowned and looked at his wife. "Him bringing that up made me feel restless all over again."

"I’m restless too!" Yi Luowa sat up. "I reckon Old Eight already spoke to Youyou about this yesterday, but who knows how she reacted."

"This matter’s ultimately up to them. If they don’t want to go, I’d understand."

"Normally it’d be less complicated. The thing is, Youyou’s pregnant... I can’t think about it anymore. The more I think, the more my head hurts." Yi Luowa shook her head irritably and got out of bed.

"You’re not sleeping anymore?" Tong Airui asked, feeling a bit sorry for his wife. She’d hardly slept a wink last night after he drove her crazy, and now Justine, that mule, had disturbed her again.

"I won’t sleep. I’ll catch up during the day." Yi Luowa massaged her sore waist as she slowly walked into the bathroom.

Tong Airui paused for a moment, then followed her inside. The couple freshened up and headed to his mother’s place. The two little ones had already woken up and were sitting on the bed playing with Grandpa’s toys.

Sangyu smiled brightly at her mom, showing off her little teeth.

Yi Luowa pressed her lips together and smiled. It looked like her daughter was in a good mood today.

Sangyu pointed eagerly at her head, urging her mom to take a look.

Yi Luowa glanced at it. It was still the same little bun hairstyle—nothing unusual!

Long Che chuckled. "She’s wearing a new hair clip. You’ve got to compliment it or she’ll get upset."

Yi Luowa pretended to be surprised as she walked over. "Oh wow! Mommy just noticed—Sangyu’s new hair clip looks amazing!"

Sangyu beamed with satisfaction, hugging a doll nearly as big as herself as she stood up on the bed.

"Hug!"

Yi Luowa laughed and scooped up her daughter.

Ziyan lifted his eyes to glance at his mom, then at his sister, before pouting and bending his head back down to focus on his blocks.

Yi Luowa smiled as she patted her son’s little head. "Come here, let mommy hug you too."

Ziyan lit up with excitement and stood up, sticking his little tush out.

Tong Airui laughed and said, "I’ll take him. You’ll get tired hugging two of them at once."

"It’s alright. I can hold them both for a little while." Yi Luowa pulled her son and daughter into her arms.

Tong Yao stepped through the door.

Long Che glanced at her. "What’s Yan Zi and Ni Lu’s position?"

"They both agreed to let Xuanxuan go. Now they’re discussing who’ll stay with Youyou there." Tong Yao said while reaching over to take her grandson from her daughter-in-law’s arms. Noticing his discontented expression, she sweetly coaxed him, "You two are heavy—you’ll tire mommy out. Grandma will hold you. Our Ziyan is the sweetest and most obedient kid!"

Ziyan nodded obediently.

Sangyu blinked her eyes, cupping her mom’s face, and asked, "Tired?"

"Mommy’s not tired." Yi Luowa smiled and kissed her daughter on the cheek, then turned to ask her mother-in-law, "Mom, did Xuanxuan and Youyou argue over this matter?"

"They didn’t argue, but things weren’t peachy either. Last night, the two of them talked from the bedroom to the living room, then from the living room to the yard. If it weren’t for Grandpa stepping in to find Xuanxuan pinned under Youyou getting beaten up, I doubt they’d have stopped until morning."

Yi Luowa’s mouth twitched awkwardly. "Youyou’s always taking advantage of Xuanxuan’s leniency. But honestly, if Xuanxuan ever got serious, she might not even stand a chance against him."

"Did they reach a conclusion?" Tong Airui chuckled and asked.

"Yeah, they did. Xuanxuan will go to Saint-Cyr, but Youyou’s insisting on going with him. That means she’ll be there for two years—the baby will even be born there. Now your aunt and Ni Lu’s mom are debating which of them will go along to look after Youyou."

Long Che chimed in, "Let Yan Zi and Xiaotian go. We have a house there."

Tong Yao shot him a conflicted look. "But Ni Lu pointed out, Joyina’s pregnant too. If Yan Zi and Xiaotian leave, Joyina might overthink things."

Long Che furrowed his brows slightly. "Doesn’t Joyina have us? Let me tell you something—you go inform Yan Zi there’s no way Ni Lu should take care of Youyou. She can’t even manage her own kids, and you want her to handle grandchildren? No way."

Tong Yao glared at him playfully. "You’ll be the one telling her that!"

"Fine, I’ll say it! What am I afraid of?" Long Che said, heading downstairs.

Yi Luowa and Tong Airui exchanged glances, holding back their laughter.

Tong Yao pursed her lips. "I sometimes wonder how I’ve managed to live with him for so many years." 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"You weren’t saying that during the happy times, were you?" Tong Airui laughed and hugged his mom’s shoulder.

"Your father and I didn’t have happy times. It wasn’t until these two little ones came along that I truly understood happiness." Tong Yao smiled as she gently stroked her grandson’s cheek. "Come on, let’s go see what madness Grandpa is up to downstairs."

Ziyan said solemnly, "Madness!"

"Yep, Grandpa is an old eccentric!" Tong Yao laughed, carrying her grandson out the door.

Yi Luowa shot a playful glare at Tong Airui, who was still standing there. "Don’t you care about Mom? She’ll have a tough time carrying Ziyan downstairs."

Tong Airui glanced at her. "Are you sure you’re okay? You didn’t sleep a wink last night. I’ll carry Sangyu instead."

"I’m fine. You go carry Ziyan."

"No need. I’ve got enough strength to carry a child." Tong Yao’s laughter echoed from outside the room. Everyone says daughters are like delicate cotton jackets for their mothers, but her daughter-in-law? She’d trade ten daughters for her.

In the end, Fourth Grandpa carried the daughter, while Yi Luowa’s arms were occupied with the large doll her daughter had handed off. The family of three headed downstairs.

Downstairs, Joyina was seated on the sofa, talking to Yan Zi. "Mom, you and Dad don’t need to factor me in. My film’s last stop is Bei Di. Once I finish the promotions, I plan to stay there for a while. After all, it’s not as convenient to travel back after having the baby."

"How long do you plan to stay?" Yan Zi asked.

"Maybe until right before giving birth?" Joyina giggled. "Or, when I’m about to deliver, I’ll head to F Country and have the baby there alongside Youyou. That sounds good too."

"You two better not have your babies in F Country. That place gives me a headache just thinking about it." Madam Jing Ya rubbed her forehead. "I don’t care where you stay these next few months, but when it’s time to deliver, you must come back here at least a month in advance. I need to oversee the births, or I won’t be at ease."

"Alright, we’ll listen to Grandma." Joyina cheerfully hugged Madam Jing Ya’s arm.

Youyou guiltily tugged on Joyina’s hand. "Third Sister-in-law, I’m sorry about everything, especially for me—"

"Did I hear that right!? She just called me Third Sister-in-law! Haha..." Joyina laughed. "As thrilling as that title makes me feel, I have to be honest with you. I’m heading to Bei Di not because of you, but because I miss my mom. No need to feel guilty, and definitely don’t show me any gratitude for this."

Youyou pouted. "Pfft~ I’m not feeling guilty anyway! And I’m certainly not thanking you! Go ahead and go to Bei Di. When I’m in the mood, I’ll bring Mom and Dad to visit you."

"Hey, don’t get in the mood to come! I’ll welcome Mom and Dad wholeheartedly, but if you come, it’ll be purely to annoy me. I won’t welcome you!"

"The less you welcome me, the more I’ll come! Once a month!"

"What are you, a pesky period?"

Haha... The family burst into laughter.

Yi Luowa laughed along too. Despite their usual bickering, she knew the two of them were far more dependable than anyone when it really mattered.
