Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 680 - 576: Flaying Alive (Third Update)
Joyina angrily punched Mi Chenshuo. "What are you thinking! How could my brother and I ruin Lowa and Fourth’s business? My brother has been looking for Nancy too. He said that as long as she lives one more day, Lowa will be in danger for one more day."
Mi Chenshuo gave her a deep look. "Why does your brother care so much about Lowa?"
"Because of me! Lowa is my savior!" Joyina pushed him aside. "Don’t block my way."
"Wait a moment before you leave!" Mi Chenshuo grabbed her arm. "Don’t go to the film premiere in two days."
"No way, I have to go! That movie is like my baby, I worked on it like a ten-month pregnancy. I can’t miss any of its important days."
Mi Chenshuo’s face darkened. "Why are you becoming more and more disobedient lately!"
Joyina glanced at her belly and gently patted it. "I have someone backing me up now, haha... From now on, I won’t argue with you anymore."
"Be gentle, don’t smack the baby into having a birthmark!"
Joyina pouted. "Shows how inexperienced you are! Birthmarks aren’t caused by hitting! Silly! Don’t say such brainless things in front of me anymore, or our son will laugh at you!"
Joyina let out a huff and walked out. Before Mi Chenshuo could follow, she rushed back in. "Hubby, my mom told me to tell you something, and I’ve forgotten it for days!"
Mi Chenshuo’s face darkened like a pot bottom. "Can you stop running around?"
"Next time, I promise!" Joyina gave a cheeky smile and hugged his arm.
Mi Chenshuo looked at her helplessly. "What did Mom want you to tell me?"
"Mom said, Uncle already has two kids, Connie is also pregnant, and now both Youyou and I are pregnant too. If we keep living here, Aunt will be overwhelmed. She suggested you talk to our mom about whether we should move back to the Viscount’s mansion."
Mi Chenshuo frowned slightly. "I’m afraid it’s pointless to bring it up. Mom and Grandma, along with Aunt, are inseparable."
Joyina pouted. "Honestly, I don’t want to move back either; it’s boring there. But after Mom mentioned it, I think we’re being too much. Tell me, since we got married, have we even lived at the Viscount’s mansion for a month?"
"We’ll talk to Mom about it shortly."
Joyina nodded firmly and quietly held his hand. "Both my dad and brother say Uncle is hard to deal with, but I think he’s actually easygoing. Otherwise, with all of us living here, wouldn’t he have kicked us out already if he was difficult?"
"Don’t listen to your dad and brother’s nonsense! My uncle is a good man!" Mi Chenshuo took her hand and led her off the balcony.
At this moment, Tong Yao was directing the servants to prepare rooms on the ground floor for Joyina and Youyou. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Mi Chenshuo glanced at his aunt and then at his mother, hesitating before he said, "Mom, maybe we should stop troubling Aunt and move back."
Tong Yao turned her head to look at him. "Worried Aunt can’t take care of your wife properly?"
"Aunt isn’t like that!" Mi Chenshuo gave an awkward smile. "I’m just worried you’ll be worn out—two kids and three pregnant women in the house..."
"There are so many servants at home; do you really think I’d be worn out?" Tong Yao shook her head with a smile and told the servants, "Move the bed closer to the balcony for better sunlight."
Yan Zi stood up. "Shuoshuo, drop it. I just discussed this with your aunt, and she nearly blew up at me."
Tong Yao, seeing the servants finish arranging the bed, smiled as she walked over. "It’s not like I enjoy arguing. But if you went back, you’d just keep worrying about Mom here. If you run back and forth, you won’t take care of anyone properly. It’s better to stay here; that way, everyone gets cared for, and the house stays lively."
"If you don’t mind me, I’ll stay here forever."
"I’d love for you to stay forever. Then, at least I’ll have someone to talk to." Tong Yao said with a chuckle, looking at Joyina. "You and Shuoshuo should go check out the new bedroom. If you don’t like anything, get them to fix it."
Joyina smiled shyly. "Aunt always considers everything so thoroughly. There’s no need for me to check."
Tong Yao shook her head with a smile. "I’m getting old and out of touch. Watching them panic and stress out while I can’t help makes me anxious too."
"Aunt, you’re worried about Lowa, right?" Joyina said with a smile. "Don’t worry! My brother is about to deploy troops to help Uncle and Emperor Haotian take care of country R."
Tong Yao paused. "Does your uncle and Rui’er know about this?"
"My brother said he’d call Uncle and Airui as soon as he got off the phone with me."
Tong Yao smiled as she heard this. "Lowa is truly fortunate, always meeting benefactors."
Mi Chenshuo glanced around. "Aunt, where’s my uncle?"
"In the study, on the phone with your Uncle Muta. Why, looking for him?"
Mi Chenshuo hesitated, then shook his head with a smile. "No, just wondering."
...
The three nations of Summer Wu, Haotian, and Northern Di joined forces once again, and overnight, tension flared along Country R’s border.
Before dawn, Sato Hara called Emperor Haotian.
"Emperor Haotian, what do you think you’re doing? Can’t we resolve this with words?"
"Haven’t I tried talking to you? My people have approached yours countless times, but you keep claiming you don’t know this person Nancy. Now I don’t want the person—I want your country!"
"Your people must be mistaken. We really don’t have Nancy here. But I’ve already issued a directive: if anyone finds her, they are to report to me immediately, and I’ll send her to you right away."
"If I don’t see her by seven o’clock, you’ll bear the consequences!" Emperor Haotian said bluntly. Just as he was about to hang up, he heard a voice on the other end.
"Lord Zuo Teng, there’s been a sighting of Nancy."
"Where?"
"On a fishing boat, but..."
Emperor Haotian strained to hear as the other side suddenly fell silent. After a moment, Sato Hara’s voice returned.
"Emperor Haotian, Nancy’s been found, but... her condition isn’t good."
Knowing full well the theatrics, Emperor Haotian suppressed his rage and asked, "What’s wrong with her? Are you trying to hand me a corpse?"
"She’s alive, but living might be worse than dying... Here’s the deal: I’ll have her sent to international waters immediately, and you can pick her up there. Hurry, or else she might indeed become a corpse, and that won’t be my fault."
Emperor Haotian furrowed his brows.
Sato Hara continued, "Emperor Haotian, I’ve found the person for you. Isn’t it time your alliance’s armies withdrew?"
"I’ll decide after I see her! My men will reach international waters in thirty minutes!" Emperor Haotian slammed the phone down and swore under his breath before calling Tong Airui.
Tong Airui, upon hearing they were about to receive a severely injured individual, was visibly furious.
"Airui, I know you must be angry, and I’m just as outraged by that old fox. But on second thought, having her in our hands feels better than leaving her out there, don’t you think?"
"Hmm." Tong Airui responded darkly. "When she’s back, our troops can’t withdraw right away either. That old fox—I’ll deal with him sooner or later!"
"Alright, I’ll arrange for the pick-up at international waters."
After ending the call, Emperor Haotian contacted one of his subordinates.
At dawn, Nancy was carried into the military camp. Marcus gasped in shock at the sight on the stretcher.
"Is that even a person anymore!"
Her entire body was skinned, the exposed flesh resembled a roasted pig.
"Holy shit! They flayed her alive. How are we even supposed to tell if she’s Nancy?" Marcus kicked the bedside furiously. "Is she still breathing? Can she talk?"
"She’s breathing, but she can’t talk... her tongue was cut out." The military doctor glanced fearfully at Masco before lifting the white sheet covering Nancy. "Her tongue is gone, and so are her hands and feet."
Masco turned pale with disgust at the sight of the limbless torso on the stretcher and nearly vomited as he fled the room with his phone.
Once outside, Masco called Emperor Haotian. "King Randy, we brought her back, but she’s a complete cripple now. We can’t even verify if she’s Nancy."
"What happened?"
"..." Masco detailed how Nancy had been turned into a human stump.
Emperor Haotian clenched the phone tightly. "Do a DNA test immediately! I want her identified as soon as possible!"
"Yes!"
"Tell the doctors—they can’t let her die. Even if she’s barely breathing, I want her alive!"
"Understood!"
"Prepare the cannons and stay ready for battle!"
"Yes!"
Emperor Haotian dropped the phone and punched the desk. "Sato Hara, you dare to mock me!"
The desk phone suddenly rang, and Emperor Haotian picked up the receiver.
Tong Airui’s voice came through, furious. "Dad, I hear Sato Hara sent you a human stump."
"She’s been skinned alive, her hands, feet, and tongue are gone. We can’t even tell if it’s Nancy."
Tong Airui clenched his fists. "Start the war..."
"..." Emperor Haotian’s mobile phone rang again. He glanced at the caller ID and abruptly hung up, but the other party persistently called back.
"Take the call first. I’ll call you in five minutes." Tong Airui said grimly and hung up.
