Chapter 663: Chapter 563: It’s Already Worthless Now (Second Update)

Tong Airui turned his head to glance at the door and whispered, "This is a war between Muta DaDa and Royce’s aunt. I’d better not get involved."

Yi Luowa nodded in agreement, "Luckily Constar isn’t Muta Uncle’s son. If he were, how could he not resent you? By then, even if Aunt and Leon stood by you, Muta DaDa would always have a barrier with you."

"Let’s not talk about other people’s business anymore. Shouldn’t these two in our family eat something?"

Yi Luowa glanced at the time, pushed open the door, and walked out. In no time, she brought the nanny inside, and the four adults catered to the two little ones as they ate something.

Sangyu and Ziyan ate until they were full, then leaned back on the sofa, twisting their little legs, and started chatting gleefully.

Yuan Hang and Kou’er knocked and came in, noticing the heated chatter, and smiled as they looked at Yi Luowa, "What are they talking about? Do you understand them?"

"Not a single word." Yi Luowa laughed and invited them to sit.

Kou’er sat down next to Ziyan, reaching out to lower his chubby little leg from its twisting position.

Ziyan glanced at Kou’er, raised his little leg, and twisted it again.

Kou’er chuckled and put it down again.

Ziyan furrowed his tiny brows and reached out, giving Kou’er a smack.

Kou’er burst out laughing.

Yuan Hang, smiling, also playfully smacked Kou’er. "Stop teasing the kids!"

"But it’s so fun!" Kou’er laughed, grabbed Ziyan’s chubby little leg, and adjusted it. When Ziyan seemed to enjoy it, she mischievously lowered it again.

Ziyan furrowed his little brows deeply, staring at Kou’er, his tiny pout so exaggerated it could have hung an oil flask.

Tong Airui glanced up from his desk, then lowered his head to continue reading the document.

Yi Luowa didn’t say a word either; she just wanted to see how long Ziyan could take it.

Kou’er played for a while. Instead of getting upset, Ziyan became even more nonchalant. While Kou’er kept playing her game, he tilted his little head and started chatting gleefully with his sister again.

When Ziyan stopped engaging, Kou’er lost interest in playing and released his chubby leg, then turned to Yi Luowa to chat.

"If you like kids so much, you better hurry and have one yourself." Yi Luowa peeled an orange and handed it to Kou’er.

Kou’er glanced at Yuan Hang and jokingly asked, "Luowa Sis said we should have a baby. Shall we?"

Yuan Hang furrowed his brow slightly, "Didn’t we agree to wait until Ziyan and Sangyu got a bit older first?"

Yi Luowa sternly replied to Yuan Hang, "Wait until they’re older? And when will that be? You better hurry; you’re almost forty!" 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

"That’s up to him," Kou’er pouted and looked at Tong Airui.

Just as Tong Airui raised his head, he saw his son, moving astonishingly fast, grabbing onto the sofa and standing upright. In no time, Ziyan had grabbed Kou’er’s hair.

"Ziyan!" Yi Luowa hurriedly stood up, trying to pry her son’s hand away.

In her haste, she failed to notice Sangyu crawling over and biting Kou’er’s hand.

Yi Luowa was flailing about trying to manage both kids.

"Hahaha..." Tong Airui and Yuan Hang were nearly crying from laughter as they sat nearby. Kou’er, besieged from both sides, was laughing herself silly and kept telling Yi Luowa, "Luowa Sis, don’t worry about them, let them play."

"These two kids! I thought they had forgotten, but who knew they would come back for revenge!" No matter what Yi Luowa tried, her son wouldn’t let go, which infuriated her enough to lightly smack his little bottom, "Alright, that’s enough! You’ve been pulling her hair for so long, it’s time to let go."

Ziyan pouted and reluctantly released Kou’er’s hair.

When Yi Luowa glanced down, she saw her daughter still clinging to Kou’er’s hand, teeth sunk in, and she raised her hand ready to smack her—but Ziyan immediately sprawled on top of his sister.

Yi Luowa’s heart instantly melted; this was such a tiny child, yet he already knew how to protect his little sister.

Tong Airui was startled as well, halting his laughter. He walked over and scooped up his son, prompting Sangyu to finally release Kou’er when she saw her father holding her brother.

Snuggled in his father’s arms, Ziyan pointed at his tiny bottom and pouted, "Owie!"

Tong Airui felt a pang of sympathy, gently rubbing his son’s little bottom, and asked him softly, "Who hit you?"

"Egg!"

"Hahaha..." Everyone burst out laughing.

Long Che entered the room just as everyone was still laughing. Uncle Che’s first gaze landed on the kids, and after confirming they were both fine, he relaxed and picked up his granddaughter.

"Dad, what brings you here?"

"I wasn’t feeling at ease, so I came to check." Long Che smiled, planting a kiss on his granddaughter’s little cheek. "Did you miss Grandpa?"

Sangyu patted her chest forcefully. "Missed—"

Long Che chuckled, "Grandpa’s love wasn’t wasted on you!"

Sangyu tugged at her grandfather’s garment, signaling him to walk towards her brother. Long Che carried her to Ziyan, where Sangyu pointed at her brother’s tiny bottom and pouted, "Hit! Hurt!"

Long Che furrowed his brows slightly, "Who hit your brother?"

Ziyan and Sangyu simultaneously raised their tiny hands, pointing at their mother.

Yi Luowa smiled sheepishly, "Dad, don’t listen to their nonsense! Could I even use much force?"

Long Che asked sternly, "So you’re admitting you did hit Ziyan?"

"I didn’t hit him, just gave him a gentle pat." Tong Airui quickly intervened to defend his wife.

Long Che scowled at his son, "The kids have only been out of my arms for a short while, and you’ve already hit them!"

Yi Luowa obediently extended her hand towards her father, "Dad, I was wrong! Please don’t be angry. You can hit me to vent your frustration."

When Yi Luowa saw her father actually raise his hand, she hurriedly retracted her right hand and switched to her left one. "Haha... I remembered wrong; it was this hand I used to hit. Dad, go easy on me, I’m scared of pain."

Long Che gave her a long look, "You’re forgiven this time, but no hitting the kids next time!"

"Mmm, mmm, I won’t hit them, no more hitting!" Yi Luowa nodded repeatedly.

Seeing his daughter-in-law’s candid attitude, Long Che gave his grandson’s little bottom a gentle rub. However, turning his head, his gaze landed on the coffee table piled with red envelopes, and his lips twitched slightly, "Tong Airui, did you bring the kids here to collect money?"

"Everyone insisted on giving them to me, and I couldn’t decline. You can take these later; please help your grandchildren save them." Tong Airui passed a meaningful glance to Yuan Hang.

Yuan Hang quickly pulled out a big bag and, together with Kou’er, packed up the red envelopes.

"Who said I’d leave? I’m free this afternoon; I’ll stay here with the kids." Long Che settled down with his granddaughter in his lap. "It’s been ages since I had cafeteria food; I’ll give it a try today."

Yi Luowa asked with a smile, "Dad, what would you like to eat? I’ll have them make something for you."

"Whatever they make, I’ll eat. No need for anything special. Luowa, go call your second uncle and old Colin, I’ll chat with them for a bit."

"Okay." Yi Luowa walked out smiling and returned shortly, bringing Sheng Duheng and the others in briskly.

The old companions chatted as Yi Luowa arranged for Kou’er to buy new bowls and chopsticks for her father.

Close to mealtime, Leon and Bert returned.

The pair saw the room was occupied, exchanged glances with Tong Airui, and the three stepped out into the meeting room next door.

"How did it go? What was said?" Once seated, Tong Airui asked.

Bert let out a sigh, "That woman fooled my father terribly! My dad was drunk that time, but he didn’t do anything with her!"

Tong Airui’s lips twitched, "Who orchestrated this?"

"The woman said she doesn’t know exactly, only that it was a big shot in Haotian. Generous, too—paid her five million in one shot."

"Where did the DNA samples come from?"

"Mine... that wench Lan Ji stole my hair. I’m only now realizing, when a woman becomes vicious, it’s beyond imagination. She was interrogated thoroughly, but we couldn’t uncover anything."

Tong Airui rubbed his temples, "So this points back to Kai Di again. But Kai Di is already dead. Who brought up this matter again?"

Leon spoke gravely, "It might be Kai Di’s people; perhaps one of her insiders leaked the details."

"Let’s hope you’re right." Tong Airui frowned, gazing out the window. What he dreaded wasn’t Kai Di’s remnants but the true mastermind hiding in the shadows. This person pulled all the strings yet stayed concealed. As long as they remained, his mind wouldn’t be at peace.

Approaches from the outskirts remained fruitless in targeting this individual. Was there anyone who could get closer?

Xia Rou was one possibility, but she was already dead.

Nancy! If Nancy could be captured, maybe there’d be some clues.

Tong Airui curled his lips slightly—perhaps in a few days, Old Eight and Youyou would bring him good news.

Tong Airui stood up, "It’s time to eat. Let’s grab dinner first."

Leon also rose. "Airui, how are we dealing with that family of three?"

"They serve no purpose here anymore. Handle the remaining details yourselves." Tong Airui sighed and opened the door, walking out first.
