Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 566 - 487: Haven’t I Not Finished Speaking Yet?! (Four Updates)
Yi Luowa’s hand had just left, and the Little Boss frowned.
"Your hand is warm, like Mom’s."
Yi Luowa softly asked, "Missing your mom?"
The Little Boss nodded vigorously.
Yi Luowa turned to Jimo Shanshan, who had been standing behind her all along, "Shanshan, can he go out to eat like this?"
"Better not." Jimo Shanshan glanced at the time. "The hospital meal will be delivered shortly."
"Doctor, I’ve never been reckless in my life. Can you give me one chance to be reckless?" The Little Boss adorably looked at Jimo Shanshan.
Honestly, with that face of his, even if he wasn’t trying to be cute, he could make hearts flutter. When he acts cute, you absolutely can’t resist him.
Without thinking, Jimo Shanshan nodded slightly.
The Little Boss immediately broke into a radiant smile. He grabbed Yi Luowa’s hand and headed toward the door.
Yi Luowa, worried he might trip, gave him a tug, trying to slow him down.
The Little Boss turned back, puzzled, glancing at her, then suddenly thought of something: "Dr. Jimo, why don’t you come with us? You worked so hard yesterday; I really owe you."
Jimo Shanshan shook her head. "I still have work to do. You two go ahead. Don’t go too far. There’s a great restaurant right across from the hospital. Get something quick and come back soon."
"Alright!" The Little Boss nodded cheerfully.
Yi Luowa let him lead her to the elevator. Kou’er closely trailed behind them, her face twitching involuntarily. Luckily, Fourth Master wasn’t home. If he were, that pretty little paw of his would have been chopped off!
Once the two got into the elevator, he was still gripping her hand tightly. Yi Luowa herself didn’t feel it was inappropriate, but under Kou’er’s gaze, she started feeling uncomfortable, finally withdrawing her hand discreetly.
The Little Boss’s eyes dimmed slightly. He raised his gaze and glared at Kou’er, visibly unhappy.
Kou’er pursed her lips, turned her back to him, and pretended to ignore him. This kid’s like a magnet; you shouldn’t lock eyes with him—lest you get sucked in.
The Little Boss raised a fist and playfully waved it behind Kou’er’s head.
Yi Luowa burst into laughter, "Kou’er saved your life, and you repay her with threats?"
"Didn’t you save me?"
"Hmm? Who said I did?"
The Little Boss thoughtfully blinked his big eyes, gazing adorably at Yi Luowa. "That doctor, Dr. Jimo! She told me someone who saved me would come see me soon—and then you showed up."
Kou’er snorted, "It was all of us who saved you. When you fainted right in front of our car, we couldn’t just leave you there!"
With pursed lips, the Little Boss avoided arguing with Kou’er. He turned his head to look at Yi Luowa, asking, "What’s your name, kind savior?"
"Big Sister Boss!"
"Pfft~ You’re just teasing me now!"
"Glad you figured it out!" Yi Luowa crossed her arms, pouted arrogantly.
The Little Boss chuckled mischievously, "I can do that too!"
Kou’er turned around to see what the two were up to, and nearly choked trying not to laugh.
Both of them had their arms crossed, identical arrogant pouts on their faces, perfectly synchronized! The resemblance uncanny!
"How old are you? So immature!" Kou’er asked while trying to suppress laughter.
"Nineteen! Older than you, right?" The Little Boss huffed pridefully.
"Hah! Not older than me! Call me sister from now on." Kou’er shot him a look. "You know your age but not your own name? How are you going to patch up that lie?"
"Selective amnesia!"
Yi Luowa chuckled, glancing at the Little Boss. "Does your family know you’re here?"
"I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned it to them," the Little Boss smiled. "Don’t try to dig answers out of me. When I want to tell you something, I’ll definitely tell you. Big Sister Boss, thank you all so much for saving me. I know the medicine you got for me wasn’t cheap..."
As he spoke, the Little Boss pulled out his wallet from his pocket, took out a card, and handed it to Yi Luowa. "I don’t know how much is in here, but it’s definitely enough for the medicine."
Yi Luowa didn’t accept it.
The Little Boss looked at her with wounded eyes, "You don’t want it?"
"I’ll take the card once you tell me who you are."
The Little Boss hesitated for a moment before putting the card back in his wallet.
Kou’er eyed his wallet. It was packed with cards—nothing else, not even an ID! Suspicious!
"Want it?" The Little Boss held the wallet out toward Kou’er. "Take it all!"
Kou’er scoffed, "Like I care about your pocket change! By the way—no ID, no passport in Xiawu? You’re asking to get detained by the police."
"I have you guys, don’t I?" The Little Boss grinned. "Big Sister Boss, what would you like to eat?"
The elevator doors opened just then, and Yi Luowa stepped out smiling, "Today’s on me. What do you want to eat?"
"How about lobster? And some vinegar-glazed shredded potatoes—that’s all I need. You?"
"Then let’s get two orders! Yi... Big Sister Boss likes those dishes too." Kou’er laughed as she glanced at Yi Luowa. "Wow, someone with the same taste as you!"
Yi Luowa smiled modestly, "It’s not that I must have them, but those dishes have a story behind them. Sometimes I order them to reminisce."
The Little Boss, curious, asked, "What’s the story?"
"Can’t say!" Yi Luowa chuckled, shaking her head.
"I know! But I won’t tell you!" Kou’er giggled triumphantly.
The Little Boss squinted his eyes, teasing, "If you don’t share, you’ll never get married!"
"Sorry to disappoint you—I’m already married! Hahaha..."
The three of them, like old friends, bantered cheerfully as they walked out of the hospital.
Yi Luowa’s car had been waiting by the entrance long ago.
Kou’er opened the car door for Yi Luowa, but Yi Luowa gestured to the Little Boss, "You get in. I’ll take the other side."
The Little Boss hesitated for a moment, then got into the car.
Kou’er darted to the other side and opened the door for Yi Luowa, who got in with a smile.
The Little Boss turned his head to look at her, momentarily dazzled by the sunny smile on her face, "You smile a lot! Don’t you have any worries?"
"Plenty!" Yi Luowa chuckled. "Starting now, for every question you ask me, you’ll have to answer one for me... Do you have any worries?"
"I do! Tons!"
Not wanting to be interrogated by Yi Luowa, the Little Boss chose to keep quiet after answering that question.
At the restaurant, Kou’er booked a private room on the second floor. To accommodate the recovering Little Boss, Yi Luowa and Kou’er slowed their pace as they climbed the stairs.
The Little Boss smiled apologetically, "Sorry for holding you back. I just recently got off a wheelchair, so walking is still a bit tricky."
Sympathy flashed in Yi Luowa’s eyes as she reached out to support him.
"Take it slow."
The Little Boss’s gaze fell on her hand again. Calling these hands a masterpiece wouldn’t be an exaggeration. But what fascinated him wasn’t merely their appearance—it was the indescribable sense of familiarity he felt when they touched him.
His fixation on her hands made Yi Luowa recall Park Shunyan, sending a slight chill down her spine.
"We’re here." Yi Luowa let go as they reached the last step.
When her hand left his, the Little Boss felt a fleeting sense of loss but quickly adjusted.
Inside the private room, after ordering the food, they sipped tea and began chatting.
"Did Dr. Jimo tell you that you’ve been poisoned?" Yi Luowa asked, a pang of sorrow surfacing unexpectedly.
"She did."
"Did you know before?"
The Little Boss shook his head. "No, I was fine until I turned five. But after my fifth birthday, I fell ill, getting worse day by day. My parents sought out countless renowned doctors, but none could figure out what was wrong with me. Two years ago, I nearly died.
This past year, I improved slightly thanks to a folk remedy. This time, I left home because I wanted to see the world—I don’t want to pass away one day without knowing what the world really looks like."
"Ah... Life is unpredictable. You never know where you might stumble. But when you do, remember to get back up. Facing life with a smile is the secret to finding happiness."
The Little Boss smiled and nodded, "You asked me one question earlier. Now, it’s my turn. Who are your family members? Are they all in Xiawu?"
Yi Luowa laughed, "You asked me two questions!"
"Then next time you can ask me two."
Yi Luowa smiled and nodded, "I’ve got grandparents, my parents, my second uncle, and a whole bunch of siblings..."
"Cough, cough... You forgot the most important part!" Kou’er reminded her helpfully.
Yi Luowa grinned, "I wasn’t finished yet."
