Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 561 - 482: Twenty-One More Updates
During breakfast, Yi Luowa was feeding Tong Airui while laughing as she shared Connie’s story.
Tong Airui also laughed after hearing it, "Tell me, should I notify Old Seven and tell him to hide in Z Country?"
"I think that’s necessary!" Yi Luowa chuckled while feeding him another spoonful of porridge.
"This will be my last bite. After that, you should eat too, or your food will get cold."
"No rush, I’ll take my time feeding you until you’re stuffed." Yi Luowa said as she brought the bowl back to his lips.
Tong Airui smiled and pushed the bowl aside, "The IV drip is finished, I can eat on my own."
"You rarely get sick; let me take this opportunity to show how much I care."
Under Yi Luowa’s insistence, Fourth Master finished a small bowl of porridge cleanly.
"Honey, I have to go to the hospital with Connie later."
"Alright, accompany her and get some definite answers so she can feel at ease."
"I also need to call Joyina to let her know I can’t visit her today." Yi Luowa took a bite of her food. "Will you let me go once you’re better?"
Tong Airui tilted his head toward her, "Once I’m better, I’ll go with you."
"Sigh... You really need to listen to Grandma and stop exhausting yourself like this." Yi Luowa pouted, "Even though it’s nothing serious, you still scared me half to death."
"I’ll be more careful in the future, but only if you stop teasing me so much. You rile me up and then leave me hanging—who can stand that?"
Yi Luowa glared at him and buried her head in her food.
"Doesn’t it unsettle you not seeing the kids?"
"Not unsettle, no, it’s just... empty."
"When Dad leaves for work later, sneak a peek at them, but don’t get too close."
"No, what if I carry bacteria to them? That’d make things worse for the kids."
"Then go to Uncle Jin’s later and get some preventative medicine."
As soon as Tong Airui finished speaking, You entered with the medicine.
With a droopy face, You handed the medicine to Yi Luowa, "Sis, don’t worry, we’ll definitely help you find Mom!"
"I already have two moms, what’s there to look for?" Yi Luowa chuckled, patting You’s little face. "Stop pouting like someone owes you money. I’ll take you out to play later."
Hearing the word "play," You’s eyes immediately lit up. "Where to?"
"To visit your Seventh Brother and Sister-in-law."
"I don’t like playing with them; they’re so slow!" You pouted and turned to Tong Airui, "Fourth Brother, are you still feeling unwell?"
"I thought you only had eyes for your sister!" Tong Airui glanced at the IV drip. "Once this bottle’s done, I’ll be mostly recovered."
"Every day, you don’t let my sister have a moment’s peace!" You scratched her head and sat down beside Yi Luowa. "While I was eating earlier, I heard Grandma and Auntie tell a joke. Let me share it with you—it might cheer you up."
"What joke?" Yi Luowa looked at her, amused.
"It’s about my Seventh Brother and Sister-in-law. One day, they had a day off. The night before, the two of them planned to take Pengpeng to the park the next day. But by the time the second day came and it was almost noon, they still hadn’t left."
"What were they doing?"
"Grandma was puzzled too. She went in to check and found Shanshan packing things to bring, while my Seventh Brother was sitting on the bed putting on socks. Grandma said she wasn’t exaggerating—my Seventh Brother took five minutes to put on one pair of socks! And my Sister-in-law was even worse; it took her four minutes just to fold and pack one piece of clothing."
"In the end, Grandma couldn’t stand it anymore. She and Grandpa took Pengpeng out to play. By the time they came back after having their fill of fun, my Sister-in-law still wasn’t done packing. Then, from the bedroom, they heard my Seventh Brother yelling: ’Jimo Shanshan, give me a straight answer! When on earth are we leaving?!’"
"And then?"
"My Sister-in-law didn’t get angry at all. She calmly replied, ’Once you take off your backward-worn underwear—with the elephant’s trunk facing behind—you’ll find me about done packing as well.’ Hahaha..."
"Hahaha... Your Seventh Brother still wears cartoon underwear?"
"Apparently, he still does."
"Does your Eighth Brother still wear them?"
"Yes, I love seeing him wear cartoon underwear. Just the other day I even asked Sixth Sister if she had more in stock, so I could get a few dozen more." You glanced slyly at Tong Airui as she spoke.
Tong Airui hurriedly clutched the blanket, wary that unpredictable You might pull it off him next.
You smirked, withdrew her gaze, and said, "Sis, hurry and finish eating. I’m going to wake up Mi Chenxuan." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
With that, You bounced out of the room.
After finishing the IV drip, Tong Airui felt much better. His throat didn’t hurt as much, and he sat on the bed making about ten phone calls in one go. By the time Yi Luowa and Connie finalized their plans, he was ready to head out with them.
Yi Luowa pouted, "We’re going to the obstetrics and gynecology department. You’re coming too?"
"I’ll wait in the car. Once Connie’s done, let’s leave. I want to go on an impromptu trip with you."
"You’re still sick. Are you sure?"
"We’ll bring medicine, and if worst comes to worst, we’ll bring a doctor along too."
Knowing he just wanted her to have a break, Yi Luowa didn’t argue further. The two of them drove their RV to the hospital.
Connie arrived earlier than them. Yi Luowa accompanied her to have her blood drawn, and then the two of them went to Jimo Shanshan to wait for the results.
Half an hour later, the results were ready.
Jimo Shanshan took the test report from the nurse, glanced at it, and calmly placed it on her desk.
Yi Luowa and Connie stared at her expectantly, but Jimo Shanshan stayed silent.
"I feel like smacking her!" Yi Luowa said, wrinkling her nose at Connie.
"I feel like punching her!" Connie pouted.
Jimo Shanshan glanced up at them lazily. "It’s not good news."
Connie looked at her nervously and asked with a trembling voice, "Am I not pregnant, or... do I have some serious illness?"
Jimo Shanshan sighed, "There’s going to be a death! One from your family and one from mine as compensation."
Connie swayed slightly, "That serious?!"
Yi Luowa carefully considered Jimo Shanshan’s words. Picking up the test report from the desk, she took a closer look.
"Connie, there’s a plus sign here. It says ’positive.’ You’re pregnant!"
"Ah!" Connie was momentarily dumbfounded.
"I’m not lying. Here, look for yourself." Yi Luowa handed the test report to Connie.
Connie looked at the report, her face breaking into a silly grin. "Shanshan, you’re so bad! I thought I had some incurable disease!"
Jimo Shanshan massaged her temples. "Sister-in-law, could you hold off sharing this news with my Fifth Brother until I’ve hidden Mai Zekai?"
Connie huffed, "I’m going to tell him right now! That’ll teach you for scaring me!"
In a flash, Jimo Shanshan bolted out of the room.
Yi Luowa and Connie exchanged glances. Whoever dared call Jimo Shanshan slow again—they’d have a bone to pick with them!
Connie cradled her stomach, smiling as she looked at Yi Luowa, "Sis-in-law, this isn’t a dream, right?"
"Shall I pinch you to prove it?" Yi Luowa helped Connie up with a smile. "Let’s get you home so you can rest and take care of the baby."
"I want to go to the office."
"Then I’ll take you there. Such a happy occasion deserves to be shared with your Fifth Brother. After all the waiting, this little one has finally arrived. Our family is going to be even livelier now."
Connie nodded with a smile and left with Yi Luowa.
Yi Luowa personally escorted Connie to the Aldridge Building, watching her step into the elevator before leaving.
Connie was still grinning in the elevator. By the time she stepped out, that smile hadn’t budged.
Tong Aino emerged from the meeting room and spotted Connie standing outside his office, looking radiant but not going inside. Suspicious, he walked over.
"Where have you been? President Zheng came by earlier, and we almost couldn’t find the contract for the collaboration."
Connie turned to glance at him, grabbed his tie, and pulled him into the office.
"This silly girl!" Tong Aino chuckled, looking at his visibly excited wife. "What’s going on—did you lose your mind or win the lottery?"
"I won something priceless!" Connie pulled a test result from her purse and handed it to Tong Aino. "Take a look at this!"
Tong Aino glanced at it, still confused, then looked again—still nothing clicked.
"You went to the hospital? What’s wrong?"
Connie laughed and pointed to her stomach.
"Your stomach hurts?"
Connie leaned against the door in frustration, "I’m being so obvious! Can’t you guess anything else?"
Tong Aino studied her deeply, then reached for the phone on his desk.
"What are you doing?" Connie asked, baffled.
"I’m not guessing. I’m calling Old Seven to ask directly."
Speechless, Connie walked over and took the phone from him. "Old Seven is avoiding you like the plague right now. Even if you called, he wouldn’t pick up. I’m pregnant!"
"Why would he avoid me... Wait—you’re pregnant?!" Tong Aino froze on the spot. "Honey, you’re not joking, are you?"
Connie pouted, "Do I look like I’m joking?"
Tong Aino shook his head, "Damn it, he fooled me!"
