Chapter 486: Chapter 419: So Let Her Be Reckless? (Third Update)

Madam Jing Ya was 45 years old when she was granted the title, Tong Yao was 40, and Yi Luowa was only 21.

When the news broke, the entire Xiawu was stunned. Such a young Madam of Xiawu was not only unprecedented but might never be seen again.

However, not a single person dared to say no. It wasn’t because they feared the influence of the Audrey family but because Xiawu had never seen someone like Yi Luowa before.

Who else could instantly take out billions to provide for the House Soldiers and their families? And who else could donate nearly 5 billion worth of military equipment?

Actually, there was a small anecdote about the 5 billion donation.

It happened after the accident with Ruan Dawang. Yi Luowa contributed 1 billion, and then she made an additional massive donation.

At that time, the factory had developed a new-generation armored vehicle with excellent performance. Tong Airui was eager to start mass production, but the funding wasn’t accounted for in the budget, making it impossible to proceed.

Seeing Tong Airui worrying about it daily, Yi Luowa took the initiative to offer a donation.

When she did so, Yi Luowa wasn’t seeking any accolades; she was simply thinking of Tong Airui. But today, Tong Airui passed all the credit back to her.

"Honey, by doing this, I feel the weight on my shoulders just got heavier." As soon as she got home, Yi Luowa pouted.

"I’ll bear all the weight for you. You just need to focus on your pregnancy." Tong Airui smiled. "Actually, this recognition wasn’t something I fought for on your behalf; it’s something you earned on your own. Long ago, Great Mutar wanted to grant it to you, but I asked him to hold off till now."

"If I weren’t your wife, no matter how hard I tried, I wouldn’t have received this honor." Yi Luowa pouted again and turned to Tong Yao. "Mom, don’t you think so?"

Tong Yao smiled and shook her head. "No, you truly earned it through your own efforts."

Yi Luowa pursed her lips and looked at Madam Jing Ya.

Madam Jing Ya chuckled, "Your mom and Rui’er are right. You truly earned it. Our family keeps improving with each generation! Back in the day, I got my title thanks to your great-grandfather and your father’s connections. But when it comes to you and your mother, those are absolutely deserved! Your mom educated so many genius detectives for Xiawu and other nations. And you, after marrying into the family, have contributed so much to Xiawu. You undoubtedly deserve this title of Madam."

Yi Luowa giggled and said, "Hearing Grandma say this, I now get it—my title was bought with money. Haha..."

Madam Jing Ya playfully scolded, "Nonsense! What really moved Mutar was your compassion toward the House Soldiers."

"Okay, okay, I’ll stop joking." Yi Luowa laughed merrily. "To block all gossip, it seems I’ll need to do even more charity work." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

"I never imagined that a penny-pinching mother-in-law like me would end up with such a generous daughter-in-law." Tong Yao chuckled, looking at Connie. "She’s the only one who took after me in this regard."

Connie pursed her lips in a smile. "It must’ve been Tong Aino tattling on me again."

"He hasn’t said a single bad word." Tong Yao laughed. "I don’t know what I did in my past life to earn the blessing of having all of you wonderful kids."

"Only the kids are great?" Long Che sulked, shooting her a sideways glance.

"The husband is great too. All my blessings come from you." Tong Yao teasingly glared at him. "Yi Luowa earned you such great honor, and you still stir up trouble!"

"I was merely trying to remind you not to favor a group over an individual. You always praise the kids..."

"Yi Luowa, what are you craving? Mom will cook it for you." Tong Yao interrupted Long Che before he could finish.

Yi Luowa laughed softly. "I’m craving sweet and sour pork ribs."

Tong Airui grinned, "That dish will take some time—just enough for Dad to cool down."

Long Che snorted. "I get it now. All of you are on your mom’s side!"

"One person’s on your side, but you don’t even notice. What’s the use?" After successfully riling up Long Che, Tong Yao left for the kitchen with a smile.

Long Che raised an eyebrow slightly. "That Teng Ai Ni—if I don’t scold her, she won’t come home for sure!"

"Didn’t you refrain from scolding her last time for Pengpeng’s month-old party? She still came back!" Tong Aino grinned, stepping out of the bathroom.

Long Che glared at his youngest son. "Why do you have to show up everywhere? If you hadn’t chimed in, would my words have just fallen flat?"

"Who did I provoke now?" Tong Aino was utterly puzzled; he had just used the bathroom, came out, heard a random sentence, responded kindly—and got scolded!

"Haha..." Tong Airui burst into gleeful laughter.

Madam Jing Ya shot a glare at her son. "You keep using Nuo’er as your punching bag!"

"Mom, it’s not that I use him as a punching bag—it’s just every time..."

Before Long Che could finish, the others exchanged glances and promptly scattered.

Madam Jing Ya chuckled. "You see? You’ve scared them all off."

"These little rascals!" Long Che shook his head, laughing. "Especially Yi Luowa—look at her, almost due, yet she ran off so quickly!"

Yi Luowa giggled. "Dad, I didn’t run off on my own. Tong Old Four and Tong Old Five carried me away."

Long Che glanced at her arms, where two pairs of big hands were holding up—he couldn’t help but laugh. "You two better be careful and don’t bump her anywhere."

"Don’t worry, Dad, we’ve got this." Tong Airui raised an eyebrow at Tong Aino. "The storm’s passed."

Tong Aino muttered, "In our family, I’m just a vegetable!"

"Well, you bring that on yourself. Next time dad speaks, just don’t respond." Tong Airui threw him an unimpressed glance.

"If I don’t respond, I still get scolded." Connie flashed a sly smile.

Tong Aino snorted at her.

The four of them laughed and entered Yi Luowa’s bedroom.

"Connie, how’s your training going?" Yi Luowa asked as she carefully sat down.

"Graduation is right around the corner—it’s been quite rewarding." Connie grabbed a throw pillow and placed it behind her.

Yi Luowa pouted. "Your brother insists I study too. Ugh... Why is my life so hard?"

Connie chuckled, "Learning more can only be beneficial."

"You’re almost done with your training. Once Old Eight and You plan their wedding, the two of you should have yours too." Yi Luowa gently stroked her belly and smiled. "I can tell you really like kids—after the wedding, you two should have one too."

Connie glanced at Tong Aino.

Tong Aino shook his head. "We agreed we’d plan our wedding together."

"I’ll need a long time to recover after childbirth. Why wait for us?" Yi Luowa glared at him. "Listen, just go ahead and plan your wedding now. Otherwise, how will you explain it to Connie’s parents?"

Connie lightly bit her lip. "My parents haven’t said anything about it."

"They’re just being polite." Yi Luowa sighed. "During Pengpeng’s month-old party, your aunt told me she’s getting anxious during our talk."

Tong Aino frowned. "Aunt shouldn’t have burdened you with this."

"Of course aunt should tell me. You’re always announcing to everyone that we’ll plan our weddings together. But as I keep putting it off without a set date, isn’t it natural for people to worry?"

Tong Airui gave her a deep look and then told his younger brother, "Once Old Seven’s wedding is done, go ahead and have yours. Don’t wait for us."

"Bro, what do you mean?" Tong Aino looked a little flustered.

Tong Airui placed a firm hand on his shoulder.

Tong Aino glanced at him and conceded, "Fine, I’ll plan mine first."

"Should I tell Mom or will you two tell her yourselves?" Yi Luowa smiled as she saw him agree.

"Sister-in-law, you rest. I’ll tell Mom now." Tong Aino said, pulling Connie out of the room.

After leaving, Tong Aino asked Connie to go upstairs while he headed to the kitchen.

Tong Yao had just lowered the flame when she saw her son enter and asked with a smile, "What do you and Connie feel like eating? Mom will make something for both of you."

"Mom, don’t bother. Let the chef prepare whatever we want to eat." Tong Aino walked over and gave Tong Yao’s shoulder a playful hug. "Mom, my brother and sister-in-law suggested Connie and I plan our wedding first, and I just agreed with them."

Tong Yao looked at him suspiciously. "The four of you aren’t planning to hold a joint wedding anymore?"

Tong Aino sighed. "I suspect my sister-in-law never intended to have a wedding."

Tong Yao shook her head helplessly. "Ah, I’ve guessed some of her feelings too. You all have both your parents, but your sister-in-law has only her uncle. She doesn’t feel good about it."

"She has me as her mother too." Ni Lu entered, wiping at red-rimmed eyes. "This girl is always making us happy, but she’s never shared her inner pain with us. As for the wedding, I’ll talk to her. A wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event—we can’t leave her with regrets."

Tong Yao grabbed her hand. "Don’t say anything now. Yi Luowa is about to give birth—don’t stress her out."

Ni Lu frowned and asked, "So we just let her have her way?"
