Chapter 481: Chapter 414 Caught Cheating (Second Update)

"If you’re not an ordinary person, then you’re a god; gods are hard to find," Yi Luowa said, smacking her lips.

"Are you thinking of something delicious again?" Tong Airui asked with a laugh, looking at her.

"I’m hungry. I want to eat the noodles you make." Yi Luowa looked at him longingly.

Tong Airui hurriedly got out of bed. "I’ll make it for you right now. Do you want vinegar or chili oil in the noodles this time?"

"Both." Yi Luowa swallowed hard at the mention of spice.

"Alright. Wait here and don’t fall asleep." Tong Airui put on his nightclothes and pushed open the door to leave.

As soon as Yi Luowa saw him walk out, she quickly pulled out a pack of spicy snacks from under the pillow. In a few hasty movements, she tore open the packaging and stuffed them into her mouth.

The door suddenly opened again, and Tong Airui returned unexpectedly.

Yi Luowa froze, quickly shoving the remaining snacks into her mouth.

Tong Airui shook his head helplessly. "It’s not that I want to control you, but the doctor said you should avoid eating these. Who bought this for you? Was it that fool Youyou?"

With her mouth full, Yi Luowa could only mumble unintelligibly and gesture with her hands.

Tong Airui immediately handed her a glass of water and brought it to her lips. "How can you handle stuffing such spicy things into your mouth? Drink some water quickly."

Yi Luowa shook her head, then swallowed all the food in her mouth before speaking. "I ate too fast just now. Let me savor the taste first; I’ll drink water in a bit."

Tong Airui gently lifted her head. "Be good; drink some water first. It’s too spicy, and it could affect the baby."

Yi Luowa pouted but obediently drank half the glass of water in his hand.

Tong Airui set down the glass and reached under her pillow. "Was it just this one bag?"

"Yes, I know eating too much of this isn’t good for the baby. But I really wanted to eat it, so I kept just one bag."

Seeing the pitiful look in her eyes, Tong Airui couldn’t bring himself to scold her anymore.

"Alright, I won’t scold you this time. But no more sneaking snacks next time! I came back to ask you, how much noodles can you eat?"

"Two bowls—one and a half for me, and half a bowl for you." Yi Luowa giggled.

Tong Airui smiled and wiped the corner of her mouth. "I’ve been eating with you every day, and now I’ve had to loosen my belt by one notch."

Yi Luowa laughed out loud. "That’s perfect! After I give birth, we can go on a diet together."

"Alright, I’m off to make the noodles," Tong Airui said, playfully pinching her cheek. "Don’t think that the moment I leave, you can sneak food again—I could come back at any moment."

Yi Luowa pouted. "I don’t have anything left to sneak. If you don’t believe me, go ahead and search."

"No time to search. I’ll go make the noodles now."

Once she saw him leave again, Yi Luowa let out a long sigh of relief. Luckily, she had only kept one bag of snacks under the pillow.

But she breathed that sigh of relief too soon—Tong Airui was no rookie. As an "old detective," he had a hunch his wife definitely had more hidden snacks. After setting the water to boil, he went upstairs straight to Youyou’s room and quickly found a big bag of assorted snacks hidden there.

Tong Airui, looking at the pile of unrecognizable items, was so annoyed he threw them all downstairs in one go.

After dealing with that, Tong Airui calmly returned to the kitchen.

Yi Luowa, after eating the noodles, fell asleep contentedly. Tong Airui only closed his eyes once he saw that she was sleeping deeply.

Though their eyes were closed, Tong Airui wasn’t sleeping. He suddenly felt emotional—mothers really are amazing. In the past, if his wife wasn’t held in his arms while sleeping, she’d roll right off the bed. Now, to protect the baby growing inside her, she could sleep in one position the entire night.

Night after night, she would wake up countless times. When one position became uncomfortable, she’d switch to another—lying down, sitting up, even kneeling. When that didn’t work, she’d walk around to ease the discomfort. As tiring as it all was, she never uttered a word of complaint.

Wife, all the hardships you’ve endured, I’ve remembered them all!

...

The days passed quickly, and before long, Long Che and Tong Yao had returned.

In just a few days, Yi Luowa’s belly seemed to have grown even larger. Tong Yao looked at her belly and laughed, "Your belly with two babies is already bigger than mine was with three."

Yi Luowa pouted. "Maybe it’s because I’ve been eating too much these past few days; I feel like my belly is about to burst."

"Eating well is good. It means the babies are getting enough nutrition." Tong Yao helped her sit down and said with a smile, "The Queen of Haotian and the Queen of Beidi both sent over lots of supplements for you. We’ll have a nutritionist look over them later to see what suits you."

"Mom, more supplements?" Yi Luowa’s face crumpled as she looked towards Youyou for help.

Youyou leaned in and whispered, "Sis, did you finish all the snacks I left for you? If you did, I’ll get you more."

Yi Luowa wrinkled her nose. "Don’t even mention it! Out of all the snacks you bought me, I only ate one bag of spicy sticks. The rest were tossed out by Tong Airui. He didn’t even tell me after throwing them out! The next day, I asked Connie to help me retrieve them, and guess what? Not even an empty bag was left! It was only a few days later that I heard from the staff that they found a big bag of snacks behind the house."

Tong Airui walked over laughing. "I was waiting for you to ask me about them. Why didn’t you ask?"

Yi Luowa snorted. "I had no argument! If I had, do you think I wouldn’t have come looking for you?"

Lady Jing Ya chuckled. "Our Luowa is such a reasonable child."

"Mom, how’s Shanshan doing these days?" Tong Yao asked Lady Jing Ya.

"If you ask me, she’s almost ready to give birth. I told her to move in here, but she’s too shy to come. It’s perfect that you’ve returned; after you rest a bit, go pick up your dad and Shanshan and bring them here. That way, it’ll be easier to take care of everything."

"No need to rest; I’ll go pick them up now." Tong Yao looked at Youyou. "Youyou, go with Auntie. If Shanshan still refuses to come, tie her up and bring her."

Youyou smiled and nodded, then accompanied Tong Yao to Autumn Forest Apartments.

Right after they left, Mi Chenxuan ran up to Prince Charles. "Grandpa, since you’re so good at predictions, can you predict when my seventh sister-in-law will give birth?"

Prince Charles laughed. "I calculated a long time ago: April 21."

Mi Chenxuan counted on his fingers. "That’s just one week away!"

Prince Charles smiled and nodded. "Why else do you think your grandmother is in such a hurry to bring Shanshan over?"

Mi Chenxuan chuckled. "What about my fourth sister-in-law? Surely you’ve also predicted hers?"

"Those two little ones, July 8."

Yi Luowa covered her mouth with a smile. "Grandpa, your prediction matches the due date the doctor gave me."

Mi Chenxuan glanced at Yi Luowa and teasingly said to Prince Charles, "Grandpa, since you can predict a child’s birthdate, why don’t you help my fourth sister-in-law figure out where her biological parents are? Save us from running around the world searching."

Prince Charles shook his head helplessly. "I’ve tried predicting Luowa’s case, but there’s never been a result."

Mi Chenxuan looked puzzled. "Why is that?"

Yi Luowa pouted. This was something Tong Airui had already explained to her. He’d asked their grandfather about it, and the reply had been that her fate was too irregular to calculate.

"Luowa was swapped with Youyou in the delivery room, which altered both of their fates. Precise predictions require exact, unaltered birth charts; even the slightest deviation can lead to vastly wrong results. Once, I calculated that Luowa’s parents were in the Pacific Ocean. After that, I gave up."

Mi Chenxuan sighed. "So, does that mean Youyou’s can’t be calculated either?"

"Not until Youyou finds her biological parents. Only then will her fate settle, and I’ll be able to predict again," Prince Charles explained with a smile, looking at Mi Chenxuan. "Speaking of which, Grandfather has calculated something for the two of you as well..."

Mi Chenxuan laughed awkwardly. "What’s there to calculate about us?"

"Your wedding date," Yi Luowa said with a laugh.

Mi Chenxuan chuckled and took a seat. "Alright, Grandpa, tell me. When would be the best time for me to get married?"

"Both you and Youyou are well-suited for a wedding this year. I checked the dates. September is the best time, with October being the second-best. If you miss those two months, you’ll have to wait five years for another auspicious window for marriage."

Mi Chenxuan frowned slightly. "Does my mom know about this?"

Prince Charles nodded. "I’ve discussed it with her. She said she’ll talk it over with the two of you, especially with Ni Lu."

Mi Chenxuan turned to Tong Airui. "Fourth Brother, if I propose filing for a marriage license this year, will you approve it?"

Tong Airui nodded. He couldn’t wait for Mi Chenxuan and Youyou to get married, so that, as his wife jokingly put it, Youyou could start having lots of little monkeys—and settle down in the process.

Grinning ear-to-ear, Mi Chenxuan said, "It might feel a bit early, but getting married doesn’t seem like a bad idea."

"I never thought about it before, but within two years, all you brothers somehow ended up married. It’s happening so fast, I can barely keep up," Long Che remarked, looking at his son. "Once Luowa gives birth, you two should hold your wedding. And as for Ai Nuo, stop dragging it out."

Tong Airui laughed and nodded. He’d been wanting to take care of that for a long time.
