Chapter 377: Chapter 332 Purity is to Oneself (Second Update)

She said she did this because she wanted to stay by my side. Mi Chenshuo shook his head helplessly; fans nowadays are really going crazy!

Third Master drowsily fell asleep, but in the middle of the night, while still in his dreams, he was jolted awake by a loud "bang," followed by a petite figure swooshing onto his bed.

"Mi Chenshuo, I don’t dare to close my eyes. The moment I do, there are a dozen guns pointed at my head." Joyina yanked the blanket and burrowed under it.

Mi Chenshuo froze for a full three seconds before sitting up. He looked at the small, trembling figure hidden in the blanket and swallowed back the words he was about to say.

"You sleep here, I..."

Before Mi Chenshuo could finish speaking, his arm was yanked into Joyina’s embrace. "Don’t leave, I’m begging you. I’m scared."

"I’ll go sleep on the couch..." Mi Chenshuo tried to pull his arm away, but Joyina only clung to it tighter.

"Don’t go... Wuwu... I’m scared." Joyina burst into tears. "Tomorrow I’ll go see a therapist, or else I’ll end up crazy sooner or later."

Mi Chenshuo sighed. "I think you really should see a doctor. I’ll take you to the hospital tomorrow."

Joyina looked at him with big, watery eyes. "Can I borrow an arm while I sleep?"

Mi Chenshuo hesitated for a moment, then leaned back against the headboard. "You can borrow my arm. Go to sleep."

"You’re not sleeping?" The little pitiful girl asked tearfully.

"I’ll sleep sitting up."

Joyina pouted. "If you’re sitting, how am I supposed to hug your arm?"

Seeing how she had to raise her hand high to hold onto his arm, Mi Chenshuo reluctantly lay back down on the bed.

"Thank you." Joyina smiled contentedly. "Goodnight, Idol."

"Goodnight."

With a little girl lying next to him, Mi Chenshuo couldn’t fall asleep no matter what. Meanwhile, the person who’d been complaining about being scared fell quickly into a deep slumber.

"Mom..." Joyina furrowed her brows tightly in her sleep. "Mom, I’m scared..."

Mi Chenshuo turned his head to look at her and saw her shoulders trembling with quiet sobs. He reached out and gently patted her shoulder. "Joyina, it’s okay now. Don’t be scared. I’m here with you."

"Mom..." Joyina let go of Mi Chenshuo’s arm and dove straight into his embrace, her tiny hands clutching his pajamas tightly.

Mi Chenshuo sighed helplessly. Great! Somehow, he had officially become her mom.

Mi Chenshuo only managed to get a wink of sleep late into the night.

In the morning, he was startled awake by Yan Zi’s scream.

Before he could react, Yan Zi had already rushed to the bedside. "Son, you... you... what is this...! Ay!"

His mom stomped her foot in frustration. Mi Chenshuo froze, then looked down at Joyina curled up in his arms. The little girl was still sound asleep, her small hands tightly clutching his pajamas.

Mi Chenshuo reached out and patted Joyina’s shoulder. "Wake up!"

Joyina frowned in displeasure.

Yan Zi grabbed her son’s ear. "Get up right now!"

"I can’t get up," Mi Chenshuo pointed at the two tiny hands clinging to him.

"You! You’re going to be the death of me!" Yan Zi let go of her son and tried tugging at Joyina’s hands. "Joyina, wake up, wake up!"

"Mom, let her sleep a little longer. She fell asleep really late last night," Mi Chenshuo said as he gently tried to pull his arm free.

Yan Zi shook her head in exasperation. "This girl sure sleeps soundly. With all this commotion, she’s still not waking up."

Mi Chenshuo got out of bed helplessly. "Mom, let’s talk outside."

Yan Zi shot him a glare and left the room begrudgingly.

Mi Chenshuo followed his mom. Just as he stepped out, Yan Zi suddenly spun around and shoved him back into the room. Mi Chenshuo was momentarily stunned, and then he heard Tong Airui and Yi Luowa laughing outside the door.

"Auntie, why did you push my third brother back inside?" Tong Airui teased.

Yan Zi rolled her eyes at him.

"Auntie, what exactly did you see just now to make you scream so loudly?" Tong Airui pressed on, undaunted.

"I didn’t see anything!" Yan Zi raised her hand, threatening to smack him.

Tong Airui backed away with a chuckle.

Tong Aino came running up the stairs. "Auntie, what’s going on?"

"Nothing happened. Can’t I practice my vocals in the morning?"

Yan Zi said as she turned around to shut the door, just as Mi Chenshuo, adjusting his pajamas, walked out.

"Mom, nothing happened. The more you act like this, the more they’ll tease you. It’s better to just tell the truth."

Yan Zi took a deep breath and shouted angrily, "How am I supposed to explain this clearly?!"

"What happened?" Joyina, looking groggy, poked her head out from behind Mi Chenshuo.

Tong Aino’s mouth fell open in shock.

Tong Airui and Yi Luowa exchanged a glance, both suppressing their laughter with great difficulty.

Earlier that morning, Yi Luowa had been worried about Joyina and decided to check on her. When she arrived, she found Joyina’s door wide open. Then, she noticed one of Joyina’s slippers outside Mi Chenshuo’s room, and the rest was pretty self-explanatory.

Yi Luowa went downstairs to tell Tong Airui, who insisted on coming up to watch the drama. When they reached the top of the stairs, they heard Yan Zi’s scream.

Yan Zi frowned at Joyina. "All of you hurry up and get ready for breakfast. If we delay any longer, whether it’s work or school, you’re all going to be late!"

After saying her piece, Yan Zi huffed off downstairs.

"Is Auntie mad?" Joyina pouted. "Luowa, why are you all here?"

"To call you for breakfast!" Yi Luowa said with a sly smile.

Joyina tilted her head towards Tong Aino. "And you? Why are you here?"

Tong Aino grinned mischievously. "I came to call my third brother for breakfast, and look at that, you both happened to be in the same room. Saves me the trouble."

Seeing Tong Aino’s wicked grin, Mi Chenshuo coughed lightly. "Last night, Joyina had a nightmare and got scared, so she came to..."

"Brother, didn’t you say you were in a hurry to get back to the base? Shouldn’t you head down for breakfast?" Tong Aino interrupted, grabbing Tong Airui and dragging him downstairs before Mi Chenshuo could finish explaining.

Yi Luowa laughed and followed the two brothers down.

Joyina seemed to catch on and looked up at Mi Chenshuo. "Did they just misunderstand us?"

"..." Mi Chenshuo glanced down at her wordlessly.

Joyina quickly stepped out from behind him, grabbing the stair railing and shouting at the three people descending, "We really didn’t do anything! Don’t overthink it!"

The three people on the stairs didn’t even look back. Tong Aino muttered as he walked, "Third Brother, you really know how to go for it!"

Yi Luowa couldn’t hold back and burst into laughter.

"Ah..." Tong Airui shook his head, laughing.

Tong Aino shot him a look. "Don’t pretend! You’re the one in this family who’s the most impatient!"

"How am I impatient?!" Tong Airui kicked him.

"You always resort to kicking when you’re at a loss!" Tong Aino scurried down a few steps.

Joyina banged on the railing. "Hey, hey, hey! I’m trying to talk about serious matters here! Why are you two bickering now?!"

Mi Chenshuo glanced at Joyina, then turned back into his room. Clarifying was too much of a hassle, and the innocent had nothing to fear.

Seeing him head back to his room, Joyina pouted and returned to hers. As the door closed behind her, a small, satisfied smile played on her lips.
