Chapter 372: Chapter 329: Accidents (First Update)

Yi Luowa smiled, "My husband gave me this as a birthday present; I have to wear it for a few days, don’t I?"

"My mom gave you a necklace, and I haven’t seen you wear that!" Joyina pouted angrily. "That was made from the finest Turquoise from Beidi."

Yi Luowa immediately got her drift. "I’ll wear it when Seventh Brother gets married. Right now, I’m still in school—I can’t wear something that expensive."

Joyina pursed her lips. "If you don’t wear it then, I won’t let you off the hook!"

Yi Luowa laughed and wrapped her arm around Joyina’s shoulders. "I’ll definitely wear it! Oh, by the way, Seventh Brother’s wedding—is your family coming with us? This time, there’s no chance of seeing anyone from Beidi."

"Of course I’m going!" Joyina beamed and nodded enthusiastically.

Yi Luowa patted her cheek. "Are you still scared about what happened yesterday?"

"I was pretty scared at the time, but after sleeping on it, I forgot all about it." Joyina looked at Yi Luowa and asked, "Luowa Jie, I really admire you—you didn’t seem scared at all."

Yi Luowa puffed out her chest arrogantly. "That’s because I knew my husband would protect me."

Joyina bit her finger. "Is it really that great to have a husband?"

"Why don’t you give it a try and see for yourself," Yi Luowa replied with a laugh.

Joyina blinked innocently. "But I don’t have anyone! How do I try? Luowa Jie, maybe I should date my idol instead?"

Yi Luowa chuckled and smacked her lightly. "Are you stupid? You can’t just randomly pick someone to make it work. You have to like him, and he has to like you. Haven’t you ever been in a relationship?"

"Not even close! Ever since I returned home, I’ve been locked up in the palace and forced to cram lessons—I haven’t had the chance."

"Have you ever met a guy who made your heart flutter?"

Joyina nodded without hesitation. "I have!"

Yi Luowa leaned in curiously. "Who? Is he good-looking?"

"My idol!" Joyina burst into giggles after answering.

Yi Luowa rolled her eyes at Joyina’s joking demeanor. "I’d believe you if you said you liked my Third Brother, but I can definitely say you’ve never entertained the thought of marrying him."

Joyina grinned mischievously. "Turns out my acting skills are so good, even you were fooled. Honestly, I dream about marrying my idol all the time, but I’d never dare express it. If your family ended up disliking me and kicked me out, what would I do?"

Joyina’s words were half-truth, half-joke, leaving Yi Luowa half-convinced.

Joyina laughed and teased, "Luowa Jie, tell me—who’s better-looking, my idol or your husband?"

"Of course, my husband!" Yi Luowa shot her an annoyed look.

Joyina pouted in displeasure. "No wonder they say birds of a feather flock together. Your answer is just as predictable as Connie’s—even your annoyed glare is identical to hers!"

Yi Luowa raised an eyebrow suspiciously. "You asked Connie too?"

"Just for fun," Joyina replied, laughing like she couldn’t care less. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

The two arrived at the revolving restaurant. Mi Chenshuo was already there waiting for them. As the three of them sat down, Tong Aino and Connie joined them.

Joyina shot Mi Chenshuo a glare.

Mi Chenshuo smiled without saying a word.

Tong Aino chuckled. "Joyina, you don’t need to look at my Third Brother like that. He asked me to come up here for a reason!"

Joyina snorted. "What reason? Don’t tell me he wants you to pay the bill."

"Keep dreaming! I’m not footing his bill! What he wanted was, in case my brother went off on him, I’d take half the scolding on his behalf!"

Yi Luowa pursed her lips and smiled. "I’m the one treating today—to shut the two of you up. No way you’re tattling to Tong Airui that I snuck out. Honestly, I’ve just been so stressed lately and needed a break."

Connie grabbed Yi Luowa’s hand with concern. "Sis, I heard about what happened to you last night—it scared me half to death..."

Yi Luowa quickly made a "shush" gesture. "There are too many people here. I’ll tell you all about it when we’re back home."

Joyina glanced at Mi Chenshuo. This morning, hadn’t she practically spilled everything in front of a child? Hopefully, it wouldn’t lead to trouble?

Mi Chenshuo frowned slightly. Back then, he’d given her at least two warning looks, but she insisted on finishing her story anyway. Only now did she realize the consequences—too late! Luckily, the kid in the elevator seemed rushed and didn’t appear to have paid much attention to Joyina’s rambling.

After the five of them finished lunch, Joyina dragged Connie along to the audition hall.

Mi Chenshuo sat in the front row with the director and screenwriter, while Yi Luowa and the other three sat in the back. Kou’er and Qing’er stood behind Yi Luowa and Connie. No matter the occasion, no matter how lively, they never forget their primary mission: to keep their mistresses safe, no matter what.

After three actors performed for the male lead role, Mi Chenshuo exchanged a few brief comments with the others seated up front, then marked a check below one of the names.
