Chapter 362: Chapter 321: His Pockets are Cleaner Than His Face (Second Update)

"My fifth brother said you confiscated all his secret stash of money," Mi Chenxuan said with a mischievous grin. "Sister-in-law, did you know my fifth brother still has five million US dollars in hidden savings?"

"His pockets are cleaner than his face—where would he get secret savings from?" Connie had been smiling, but as soon as she said this, her face darkened as she turned to Tong Aino. "Tong Aino, did you take your sister-in-law’s bonus?"

"Nonsense!" Tong Aino pinched Mi Chenxuan hard and quickly ran into the living room.

Connie looked at Yi Luowa. "Sister-in-law, don’t spoil him. He just squanders money recklessly. Just a few days ago, he ordered a new sports car. Later, I’ll get the money back for you."

Yi Luowa chuckled. "You’re so earnest! Old Eight was just teasing you, and you believed him! I didn’t give Old Five any money."

Connie pursed her lips. "Come on, I know what kind of person he is. Didn’t even win the championship, but look how delighted he is—he must’ve gained something extra!"

Tong Airui smiled. His wife was truly generous, but he liked her just the way she was!

"Let’s all head in now." Tong Airui ushered Yi Luowa through the door first.

Mi Chenxuan watched the two of them walk away and then suspiciously glanced at Yuan Hang. "I thought they’d be giving each other the cold shoulder for at least a couple of days. They made up already? This doesn’t match my Fourth Brother’s personality."

Yuan Hang chuckled. "Fourth Master is a completely different man in front of his wife compared to us."

"Love can really change a person," Mi Chenxuan said as he casually placed his arm around Connie’s shoulder. "Let’s go, you and I should head in too."

Connie laughed as she slapped his hand away. "If your Fifth Brother sees this, there will be trouble again."

Mi Chenxuan laughed. "Are you scared of him? In this house, whoever controls the money is the boss. If he dares to make a fuss, just cut off his allowance!"

"Stop giving me bad ideas!" Tong Aino came out, shooting a sneaky glare at Mi Chenxuan before grabbing Connie’s hand and dragging her into the living room. "Old Eight’s specialty is talking nonsense. Don’t believe a word he says!"

Connie, amused, looked at him and asked, "Then can I believe what you say?"

"We’re a couple; I’d never cheat or deceive you," Tong Aino replied with a cheeky laugh.

Tong Yao, sitting on the couch chatting with Yi Luowa, couldn’t help but burst out laughing at the sight of her youngest son acting obsequiously.

"Mom, what are you laughing at?" Tong Aino pouted.

Tong Yao glanced at him, then turned to Yi Luowa. "Since you won another trophy, find some time to send it to your Second Uncle. It’ll make him happy."

Yi Luowa nodded with a smile. "Sure, I’ll go see him this weekend."

"Luowa, you’ve been away for a few days—have you called your Second Uncle?" Tong Yao asked, smiling mysteriously.

Yi Luowa shook her head. "No, my phone broke, and the competition schedule was too tight. By the time I got back to the hotel, it was late at night in the family’s time zone. I didn’t want to disturb anyone."

"How did your phone break? Let me call your Third Brother and ask him to bring you a new one tonight," Yan Zi said as she grabbed her phone.

"Thank you, Auntie." Yi Luowa smiled.

Tong Yao gave a cryptic smile. "Once your Auntie finishes her call, you should also give your Second Uncle a ring. There’s good news."

"What good news?" Yi Luowa immediately perked up.

Tong Airui also looked curiously at his mother.

Tong Yao laughed and said, "Your Second Uncle has finally come around! He went on a blind date yesterday."

Yi Luowa’s jaw dropped in shock. "Really? That’s fantastic news! But it’s only been a few days, and my Second Uncle is suddenly enlightened? That’s so weird!"

Tong Yao chuckled. "What’s so weird about it? The woman is the younger sister of Viscount Xia. She’s beautiful, has a great temperament, but has been married for five or six years without having a child. Her in-laws were desperate for grandchildren, so she had no choice but to divorce. Your Second Uncle really appreciated this about her. He said to me, for this life, you’re the only child he considers his own."

Yi Luowa sniffled. Why must her Second Uncle put himself through such grief! 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

"Mom, how did the blind date go?" Yi Luowa eagerly asked.

"The woman didn’t have any objections. Your Second Uncle said he’d wait for you to come back and then decide," Tong Yao replied, unlocking her phone. "Here, I have her photo. Take a look."

Yi Luowa carefully examined the photo. "She is quite pretty. She seems like a good match for my Second Uncle."

"She’s thirty-three, a few years younger than your Second Uncle."

Yi Luowa nodded in satisfaction. "Mom, can I borrow your phone? I’m calling my Second Uncle right now."

"Go ahead, use the study to call."

Yi Luowa dashed into the study with the phone. Springtime had come for her Second Uncle, and no one was happier than her.

As soon as the call connected, Yi Luowa couldn’t help but laugh. "Second Uncle, I’m back! And I brought another trophy home."

"I watched the live broadcast," Yi Weiyang replied, though his tone seemed low.

Yi Luowa pouted. "What’s wrong with you? I won a championship, yet you don’t seem happy."

"There was no suspense at all."

"Tch! Fine, I was going to bring the trophy over to you, but now I’ve changed my mind. I’m not giving it to you anymore!"

Yi Weiyang chuckled. "All your trophies are at my place. Why would you keep one? Bring it over this weekend! You haven’t been back in ages."

"I was planning to visit anyway. Second Uncle, I heard from Mom that you went on a blind date yesterday. How did it go?" Yi Luowa giggled.

Yi Weiyang let out a soft sigh. "We’ll talk when you get here."

Yi Luowa blinked. "Judging by your tone, are you not satisfied?"

"It’s... fine... *thud*..."

The sound of something falling came through the phone, making Yi Luowa clutch it nervously. "Second Uncle, are you okay?"

"I’m fine... I’ll call you back later."

The line went dead. Yi Luowa was momentarily stunned, then quickly called Huo Li’s number, but there was no answer.

Biting her lip in frustration, she anxiously dialed Auntie Li’s number.

Auntie Li answered slowly but eventually picked up.

"Auntie Li, what’s going on with my Second Uncle? And where’s Huo Li? Isn’t she at home?"

"Second Master is fine, and Huo Li is home, too... they’re arguing in the study. Luowa, if you have time, could you come back? Your Uncle Li and I can’t even get through the door. What are we supposed to do..."

Yi Luowa took a deep breath. That brat! How dare she argue with her Second Uncle! She must have a death wish. "Why are they arguing?"

"I don’t know. Ever since you came back from S Country, Second Master and Huo Li have been giving each other the silent treatment. Yesterday, Second Master went on a blind date, and when he got back, the two of them started fighting. He smashed things, and so did she. Luowa, your Uncle Li and I can only listen from outside; they won’t even let us look."

"She’s really asking for it! I’m heading over right now." Yi Luowa hastily hung up, returned the phone to Tong Yao, and said, "Mom, my Second Uncle isn’t feeling well. I need to go check on him."

"Then hurry!" Tong Yao quickly stood up. "Take some nutritional supplements for him from the house."

"Mom, it’s fine. I’m just going to check on him. I might not be back tonight." Yi Luowa stopped Tong Yao and turned to Tong Airui. "You have work tomorrow; I’ll go alone."

"I’ll go with you," Tong Airui said, frowning slightly at the worry on her face. "Is it serious?"

"Not too serious, but you’d better stay here." Yi Luowa felt it was best not to drag Tong Airui into this.

Tong Airui took her hand. "Let’s go. If something’s wrong, I can help you figure it out."

Yi Luowa pursed her lips, bid her family goodbye, and walked out the door with him.

As the car drove out of Duke Manor, Tong Airui finally asked, "What happened? Is your Second Uncle really unwell?"

Yi Luowa, wearing a distressed expression, said, "Huo Li and my Second Uncle have been giving each other the cold shoulder for more than half a month. Yesterday, it finally erupted. They’re smashing things at home and won’t even let Uncle Li and Auntie Li interfere."

Tong Airui raised an eyebrow. "What’s there for Huo Li and your Second Uncle to argue about?"

"Who knows? When I get there, I’ll deal with her!" Yi Luowa clenched her fist angrily. "This is my affair. Don’t intervene or eavesdrop. I’ll handle it myself."

"Fine. If you need me, just call me," Tong Airui said, taking her small hand in his. "Don’t be too harsh. Maybe it’s not as serious as you think."

"My Second Uncle has a temper, but he’s never smashed things before. This time, he must’ve been utterly provoked."

Sulking in the car, Yi Luowa grabbed Tong Airui’s phone halfway through the ride and called Auntie Li again.

Auntie Li whispered nervously, "They’ve stopped fighting because they heard you were coming. He told me to hurry and clean up the ’battlefield.’ Second Master even scolded me for meddling."

Yi Luowa huffed. "Tell him I said this: no cleaning up! I want to see just how destructive they’ve been. Why not burn the whole house down while they’re at it?"

Auntie Li was still on the phone with her when Huo Li came out dragging a suitcase. Auntie Li grabbed her immediately. "Huo Li, where are you going?"

"I’m going up the mountain to become a nun." Huo Li sniffled, trying to break free from Auntie Li’s grasp.

Hearing this, Yi Luowa shouted into the phone, "Huo Li, if you dare leave before I get there, don’t ever expect to see me again!"

"If I stay any longer, I’ll go insane!" Huo Li sobbed loudly.

Yi Luowa fumed. "After provoking my Second Uncle, you want to run away? Dream on! Wait for me. I’ll be there in forty minutes. By then, if you’re not crazy, I’ll make sure to drive you mad myself!"

"Everyone just bullies me!" Huo Li cried bitterly.

"Auntie Li, hold onto her. Don’t let her leave!" Yi Luowa barked before slamming the phone down and shoving it back to Tong Airui. "She’s still acting like the victim!"

"Sweetheart, calm down. From the way you’re talking, you’re entirely taking your Second Uncle’s side. Of course, she feels wronged!"

Yi Luowa glared at him. "Now this is my fault? No matter what, she’s the junior. Acting out and making such a scene—it’s entirely her fault!"

Tong Airui sighed and ruffled her hair. "You’re always right. Okay, stop being mad. Don’t let yourself get upset; it’s me who’ll feel heartbroken."

Yi Luowa pouted. "What’s even worth fighting about between those two? It’s ridiculous!"
