Chapter 324: Chapter 293: Die for Me! (Part 1)_2

"Show-off! Hurry up and eat your food!" Tong Aino slammed her cup onto the table. "Sis, you better eat quickly too, or you’ll be late."

Yi Luowa glanced at the time—she really wouldn’t make it. She hurriedly gulped down her milk and said to the group, "I’m heading out first. Chen Xuan, I’ll buy something tasty for you when I get back!"

Tong Aino eyed the untouched burger on her plate and grumbled, "Finish your burger before you leave—why do you always make people worry!"

Yi Luowa picked up her burger and ate it while walking, "Look at you! There’s no adult at home now, and here you are acting all grown up, trying to boss us around."

"I’m not pretending! I am an adult."

Yi Luowa jogged out but came back after just a couple of steps. "Chen Xuan, Connie, let me know what you want to eat—just send me a message."

"Bring me back a durian," Tong Aino said, grinning at her.

"Not for you!" Yi Luowa darted upstairs.

Tong Aino shook his head helplessly. "You tell me—my brother spends all day babysitting her. Isn’t he tired?"

Mi Chenxuan snorted and said, "Fourth Sis is way more mature than you!"

"Eat your food!" Tong Aino shot him a glare.

...

In the afternoon after school, Mi Chenxuan actually came to pick up Yi Luowa. The two stopped by a nearby supermarket, bought three or four bags of groceries, and hopped into the car with cheerful energy.

"By the time we get home, I bet my mom and dad will already be back," Mi Chenxuan said with a smile.

"That’s great—things felt so quiet around the house with so many people gone." Yi Luowa fastened her seatbelt. "Let’s head out—I want to get home early."

Mi Chenxuan started the car with a laugh. "Back when I was with Team One, my fourth brother came to see me. After watching me train, he left without saying a word. Did he ever talk about me when he got back to you?"

"Of course he did! He said you’re super talented and that if you apply yourself, you’ll definitely carve out your own bright future."

Mi Chenxuan glanced at her. "You made all that up, didn’t you?"

Yi Luowa pursed her lips and grinned, "Your fourth brother may not have said all that, but he did say you were excellent."

Mi Chenxuan pulled a pitiful face and begged, "Fourth Sis, can you ask my fourth brother tonight what his plans for me are? Not knowing what’s next has me restless."

Yi Luowa looked at him, smiling. "Chen Xuan, it’s only been a few months, but not only has your complexion darkened—you’ve matured quite a bit. You look like you’re ready to take on the world."

"Fourth Brother’s place really toughens people up!"

"I’ll ask him tonight." Yi Luowa nodded and then gazed out the window, wondering what kind of changes she’d face if she went to Shen Ying.

Mi Chenxuan’s mood brightened, and he drove quickly, getting them home in no time.

When Yi Luowa walked through the door, she saw the entire family gathered in the living room, which made her laugh—finally, the house felt lively again.

Tong Airui, knowing his grandparents would return today, had made a point to come home a little earlier. When he arrived, there were only Yi Luowa and Mi Chenxuan seated among the guests, playing a newly-launched mobile game together.

Fourth Master saw his wife sitting so close to Mi Chenxuan and strode over unhappily. "Hand over the phone."

"What for? There’s only one boss left—defeat it, and we’ll win." Yi Luowa shot him a dissatisfied look.

"Be good. You’ve been playing too long—it’s bad for your eyes." Tong Airui held out his hand.

"Next time, then." Mi Chenxuan glanced at Tong Airui, hesitated for a moment, and then exited the game.

Yi Luowa, seeing Mi Chenxuan quit, pouted and said, "We were about to clear the stage—why’d you quit? What a waste!"

Tong Airui took her phone and tapped away furiously.

Yi Luowa narrowed her eyes and grumbled, "Hurts your eyes!"

"Just one hit left." Tong Airui unleashed a couple of skills, and the boss collapsed in defeat.

"That quickly?!" Yi Luowa exclaimed in delight.

With a sly smile, Tong Airui lightly tapped to exit the game, which led to Yi Luowa’s furious expression as she watched him uninstall it!

"Tong Airui!"

"Hurts your eyes. From now on, no more messing around with this kind of stuff." Tong Airui sternly slipped Yi Luowa’s phone into his pocket.

Mi Chenxuan sat nearby, chuckling, "Petty guy—I’ve barely been around, and Fourth Sis playing games with me makes you this jealous."

Tong Airui shot him a warning look. "I catch you gaming again, and I’ll cancel your leave immediately!"

"No, no, don’t!" Mi Chenxuan joked, "I’ve been away so long—I came back just for home cooking. Let me enjoy for a few days before kicking me out."

"Tong Airui, do you know where Old Eight got assigned?" Yi Luowa still hadn’t calmed down and directly addressed Tong Airui by his title.

Tong Airui furrowed his brows but didn’t respond.

Seeing him act so smug, Yi Luowa wanted to pick a fight, but remembering Old Eight’s request, she swallowed her anger!

At that thought, Yi Luowa instantly changed tactics, putting on a sweet smile. "Honey~ can you tell me?"

Tong Airui glanced at her but kept his silence.

Yi Luowa puffed up her cheeks. "Tong Airui, you better tell me, or else things won’t end well tonight!"

Ah, tonight—a loaded implication. Fourth Master picked up on the hint of threat and decided not to push further. He pulled her into his arms with a grin. "If I tell you, will there be a reward?"

Yi Luowa pushed him away, smiling mischievously. "No reward—but if you don’t tell me, there’ll definitely be punishment! Hurry up."

"Swordblade," Fourth Master confessed straightforwardly.

"Swordblade?" Mi Chenxuan burst into laughter.

"Swordblade?" Yi Luowa asked, puzzled. "What kind of place is that?"

"Fourth Sis, better not ask. It’s a top-secret location—nobody knows where it is." Mi Chenxuan grinned so wide he practically jumped with joy. "I have to share this good news with my parents!"

Watching Mi Chenxuan dash upstairs, Tong Airui laughed and shook his head.

"Not allowed to ask?" Yi Luowa gave Tong Airui a questioning look.

Tong Airui smiled and ruffled her hair. "Where’s Grandpa and Grandma? I’m going to check on them."

Though he hadn’t given her a clear answer, Yi Luowa understood it was something beyond her reach.

"The elders were exhausted from the long flight. They’ve gone to rest but should be up by dinner."

"Then I’ll wait before visiting them." Tong Airui patted her head gently. "The family’s all back, and you love big gatherings. If you follow me to Shen Ying, won’t you feel lonely?"

"Not at all. I’ve made plans—you’ll go to work, and I’ll head to the workshop. I’ll use this break to build Dad’s dream car." Yi Luowa smiled. "But first, I want to visit the manor to see my second uncle. Plus, Aino and Connie’s engagement is coming up in February—I must come back early to help."

"Such careful planning." Taking advantage of the empty room, Tong Airui leaned down and kissed her lips.

A loud whistle suddenly sounded from upstairs.

Yi Luowa’s cheeks flushed as she shoved Tong Airui away, looking up to see Tong Aino leaning over the railing, waving cheekily.

"Keep going—I’m watching and learning," Tong Aino teased.

"Get down here!" Tong Airui roared at him.
