Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 304 - 278: Seal (Second Update)
From Monday to Friday, Connie stayed home with Tong Yao, while Yi Luowa took advantage of these five days to visit the factory, where the three ultra-luxury RVs were nearing completion.
To differentiate these three vehicles, Yi Luowa not only worked on the length but also devoted significant effort to their color schemes and interior designs.
King Muta’s RV was a massive fourteen meters long, decked out in a combination of gaudy gold and sleek white lines. The interior glistened with royal gold as its primary theme, using nearly a ton of actual gold, making it as opulent as a palace’s grand hall.
Long Che’s RV was slightly shorter by half a meter. Since he favored white, the vehicle’s dominant tone was white. To accommodate Long Che’s height, adjustments were made to areas like the door, bed, and bar counter.
His RV didn’t feature a single gram of gold; instead, it utilized large amounts of white jade and jadeite, exuding a subdued yet intricate elegance with a historical touch.
Tong Airui’s RV measured about thirteen meters and sported an eye-catching camouflage exterior. But the inside was a whole different story.
This RV was equipped with a media system that enabled instant remote communication with headquarters. Features like video conferencing, faxing, and wireless internet ensured no interruption to office work.
For parties, the large conference room came with a built-in karaoke system and adjustable tables and chairs, allowing it to transform instantly into a party setting. With colorful neon lights and music, one could indulge in merry-making anytime, seamlessly switching between family, work, and leisure roles.
The RV also featured a hidden motorized flip TV, a five-star home theater sound system, and a unique central control system. All functions inside and outside the vehicle, including water, power, lighting, air conditioning, curtains, and tables, could be operated and monitored via a touchscreen.
Considering wartime needs, Yi Luowa installed the high-tech radar system provided by Tong Airui on the vehicle’s roof, enabling monitoring and control of areas within a hundred square kilometers.
In other words, among the three vehicles, Tong Airui’s was the most understated yet the most functional and comfortable—a castle on wheels.
After two final weeks of hard work, the three vehicles finally rolled out of the factory, exuding an air of grandiosity.
Tong Airui personally delivered King Muta’s RV to the palace. Upon seeing it, King Muta immediately broke into a beaming smile.
"Wonderful, wonderful! I’ve never seen such a luxurious vehicle in my life! Luowa must have poured her heart into this! I must give her my thanks! At your engagement, I didn’t dare give you two a proper gift for fear of those grumblers accusing me of favoritism. Now, I can use this RV as an excuse to give you a grand present!"
Tong Airui’s lips twitched slightly. Two of the largest estates in the country had already been gifted to him and Luowa. What more could he possibly offer?
"Uncle, this is just a token of Luowa’s appreciation. We wouldn’t dare accept any gifts from you. If you really did, they’d definitely complain about you even more."
King Muta chuckled, "Let them complain! If they have the guts, they can make me an RV like this too."
King Muta, thrilled beyond measure, ended up adding several estates and castles under Yi Luowa and Tong Airui’s names. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
But even amidst his delight, King Muta didn’t forget serious matters. "Airui, how’s the investigation going these past few days?"
Tong Airui furrowed his brows slightly. "Thankfully, apart from that one food delivery worker, there were no other suspicious individuals found in the entire Shen Ying team. Unfortunately, that delivery worker turned out to be quite the tough nut to crack. I personally interrogated him three times, but he remained silent like a mute. During the last interrogation, Deputy Captain Ruan was handling it, but he let his guard down, and the guy seized the moment to bite off his own tongue. He’s in the hospital now."
Although Tong Airui didn’t explicitly criticize Deputy Captain Ruan, his tone carried a subtle reprimand.
King Muta understood the situation like a mirror but knew that some matters required balance. Whether he complained or not, for the time being, Deputy Captain Ruan couldn’t be removed.
King Muta gravely patted Tong Airui’s shoulder. "The poison found in the food delivery worker is the same as that in the chef’s assistant. Who do you think could be plotting against us behind the scenes?"
"There are a few suspects. I’m investigating them one by one. Once I have results, I’ll provide you with a detailed report." Tong Airui noticed King Muta intentionally steering the conversation away and chose not to bring up Deputy Captain Ruan again.
"Don’t let these investigations keep you so busy that you neglect Luowa," King Muta said with a smile. "Come, let’s take this RV out for a spin."
Tong Airui smiled as he nodded. "Sure. Where do you want to go?"
"To your place. Let’s bring your aunt along so she can enjoy it too."
King Muta called for Royce, and together they drove the massive RV to the Duke’s estate.
At this moment, Long Che was in his own RV, inspecting every nook and cranny gleefully. Seeing King Muta swagger in to show off, he let out a disgruntled huff.
"Riding our daughter-in-law’s creation to show off to us—how smug can he get!" Long Che turned to Tong Yao.
Tong Yao rolled her eyes at him. "The older you get, the worse your manners."
"I learned it from your dad!" Long Che, seeing her annoyed, grinned as he walked over. "I was just joking. Don’t take it seriously."
Tong Yao ignored him and continued looking at a jade ornament.
"What are you looking at? You’ve been staring at it for ages," Long Che asked suspiciously.
Tong Yao pressed her lips together. "Luowa really put a lot of thought into this. Look at this ornament."
Long Che lowered his head for a closer look and finally noticed something peculiar.
The ornament had a courtyard as its backdrop, intricately carved with nearly twenty figurines. On closer inspection, these were clearly members of their family.
"I can’t take it off. Otherwise, I’d move it to our bedroom to display—it’s just so lovely." Tong Yao smiled.
"Isn’t this already a bedroom?" Long Che grinned, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. He leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Why don’t we just sleep here tonight? This bed seems comfier than the one in our room."
Tong Yao turned to him and said, "The older you get, the less proper you behave! Aren’t you worried about the kids teasing you? King Muta and Royce have arrived. Let’s go down and meet them."
King Muta and Long Che were like two old children. Without saying a word to each other, they started assessing each other’s RVs, going from the first floor to the second, before eventually calling the kids over, insisting that they decide which vehicle was better.
In the end, it was Connie’s diplomatic comment—"Each has its own merits"—that prevented a fight from breaking out between the two.
That evening, both Long Che and King Muta posted photos of their RVs on social media. It caused an uproar, garnering both admiration and envy. Leng Ziye, Bernard, Carlos, and Qiao Xi even placed orders for custom-made versions.
Long Che, feeling exceptionally pleased with himself, grabbed a few property deeds and went to find Yi Luowa.
After listening to him, Yi Luowa laughed and said, "If the uncles like them that much, I’ll make them one."
"You’ll charge them, and charge handsomely. Don’t you dare cut them a deal."
Yi Luowa nodded repeatedly. "Of course! Definitely! Dad, can you ask the uncles about their preferences? I don’t want to make something they don’t like."
Long Che agreed, tossed the property deeds onto the coffee table, and walked out with a grin.
Yi Luowa stared at the deeds in confusion. "What does Dad mean by this?"
"He’s in a good mood. They’re for you," Tong Airui said, furrowing his brows slightly. "For those vehicles, you shouldn’t handle everything yourself. Just draw up a few designs and leave the rest to others. I don’t want you overworked."
"Even if I wanted to, I wouldn’t have the energy for that. There’s a big car race at the end of the year, and I need to prepare."
Tong Airui gave her an unhappy look. "How are you busier than Dad and me?"
Yi Luowa playfully pushed up the corners of his lips. "You and Dad are dealing with important matters. I can’t compare to that. Once I’ve won all the trophies and gifted them to Uncle, I’ll stop competing."
Tong Airui’s expression softened slightly. "You say that now, but I’m afraid you won’t stick to your word."
"I won’t go back on my word!" Yi Luowa said with a playful smile. "By the way, I have some good news for you. Huo Li has fully recovered and went to work with Uncle yesterday."
Tong Airui paused in surprise. "She really doesn’t want to continue her studies?"
Yi Luowa puffed her cheeks. "She said she’ll decide next year. But with her little schemes, I can see right through her. She definitely won’t go back to studying. Saying ’next year’ is just a stalling tactic."
Tong Airui patted her head. "Let her be. Don’t pressure her into another breakdown."
"That’s what I was thinking too."
Tong Airui gave a mischievous smile. "You’ve been busy worrying about everyone else. Isn’t it time to focus on us now?"
Yi Luowa pouted and huffed. "Tong Airui, all you ever think about is this! When I went with Mom to the spa, Mom and Connie laughed at me, saying my body was covered in marks from being gnawed on by a dog."
Tong Airui burst out laughing. "Are you sure it was Mom and Connie who said that?"
"If you don’t believe me, go ask Mom!" Yi Luowa pushed him with all her strength.
"I honestly don’t believe it. My mom would never call me a dog." Tong Airui laughed as he pulled her back into his arms. "Though, Mom did once tell me to show some restraint. At the time, I couldn’t understand why. Now that you mention it, it all makes sense."
Yi Luowa cast him a disdainful look. This guy—understanding now, but surely he’d forget again soon!
