Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 297 - 271: Not Developing Well! (Third Update)
No one in Xiawu dared to mess with Yi Luowa, but today, someone raised on raw rice showed up to stir the pot.
The so-called "kid" wasn’t much of a kid—she looked about seventeen or eighteen, sporting a mop of curly red hair, exaggerated smoky makeup, and, most offensively, black lipstick smeared on her pouty lips.
While Yi Luowa was in the middle of class, this strange girl barged into the classroom, stomped onto the teacher’s podium, and yelled loudly, "Who’s Yi Luowa? Come out and greet your benefactor!"
Yi Luowa nearly buried her head in her desk. She had no idea who this eccentric character was!
All eyes in the classroom instantly turned to Yi Luowa. The curly-haired redhead grinned widely, prancing over to Yi Luowa’s desk, clasping her hands together earnestly, and said with utmost seriousness, "Benefactor, I bow to you with great respect!"
Yi Luowa’s eye twitched slightly. She stood up, looked at the girl, and asked, "Excuse me, Miss Hero, what kind of demon are you?"
The entire classroom erupted in laughter.
"Hehe, don’t ask where I’m from, Benefactor. I’m here to repay your kindness," the curly-haired girl declared, slinging her backpack off. She unzipped it and dumped its contents all over the desk with a dramatic flourish.
Everyone craned their necks to look: spicy sticks, potato chips, crunchy snacks, onion rings... and an opened pack of sanitary pads.
The room roared with laughter once again.
Embarrassed, the curly-haired girl quickly picked up the pack of sanitary pads, her delicate hand fishing around inside. After a while, she produced two bank cards and handed one over to Yi Luowa. "Benefactor, this is for you—five million."
Everyone’s mouths fell wide open. Five million? Just like that?
Yi Luowa’s mouth twitched violently. She grabbed the girl’s backpack, stuffed everything—including the bank card—back into it, and snapped, "I don’t know you. I can’t take your money or stuff. Now, please turn around and leave immediately—I have a class to attend, OK?"
"No! If you don’t accept my gift, I’m not leaving." The curly-haired girl crossed her legs, planted herself on the desk, pointed at the teacher, and said, "Continue teaching! My benefactor needs to attend her class."
The teacher nearly exploded from exasperation.
The curly-haired girl pouted and shouted toward the door, "Brother Tiger, Brother Leopard! This old man isn’t listening to me!"
As soon as her words rang out, two towering figures appeared in the doorway.
Yi Luowa glanced over and saw two men built like black towers. They looked intimidating but perhaps not exceptionally bright—because they both tried to enter the classroom at the same time, only to get stuck in the doorway. They couldn’t move forward, nor could they retreat.
The curly-haired girl giggled, "You two just stand there, old... Teacher, stop staring and continue teaching! My benefactor has class to attend, and I still need to treat her to lunch at noon!"
The teacher, hands trembling, was visibly shaken. In all the years since Royal Academy was established, nothing like this had ever happened. Where were the school’s security guards?
Yi Luowa couldn’t stand it anymore. She grabbed the curly-haired girl by the collar and began dragging her out of the classroom.
The two "black towers" weren’t too happy seeing their little boss being manhandled and bared their teeth, ready to say something.
The curly-haired girl raised her hand and pointed at them. "Put those fangs away! Don’t scare my benefactor!"
The two black towers immediately fell silent.
When Yi Luowa reached the door, she frowned at the pair. "Are you going to move voluntarily, or should I help you out?"
"Benefactor, you don’t have to—I’ve got this!" The curly-haired girl struck a dramatic pose, hollered, "Mountain Shattering! Off you go!"
The two black towers exchanged a glance, then synchronized their retreat by leaning backward and scuffling out.
Yi Luowa stared at their atrocious acting and didn’t even know how to respond.
"Teacher, I’m sorry. I’ll take her away. You can continue your class," Yi Luowa apologized to the teacher before dragging the curly-haired girl out of the room. As she left, Kou’er and the three students assigned to her class followed as well.
Outside the classroom, everyone’s expressions grew somber.
Yi Luowa’s face darkened as she sized up the slightly shorter curly-haired girl. With a cold voice, she asked, "Why did you bring so many people here? Planning a robbery or a kidnapping?"
With a pitiful expression, the curly-haired girl whimpered, "Benefactor, it wasn’t me who brought them—it was them who insisted on following! Waaa... everybody leave! Just go!"
The three or four dozen people standing in the hallway instantly dispersed like a tidal wave.
Yi Luowa frowned and asked, "Who exactly are you? Are you sure you’re not mistaking me for someone else? Let me be frank: I’ve never done a good deed in my entire life. Just admit it—why are you really here causing trouble?"
"Benefactor, you saved my life! Have you forgotten?!" The curly-haired girl’s eyes welled up as she wiped her nose. "I used to be homeless, wandering the streets with my mom. It was you and Huo Li who saved me. How could you forget? Why would you forget? I thought you’d remember me forever, just like I remember you!"
Yi Luowa stared at her for a while before asking in confusion, "Are you that little beggar? Wait, that’s not right—the beggar I remember was five or six, maybe seven or eight years old at most. Don’t trick me, I’m not that gullible!"
One moment the curly-haired girl was smiling, the next, her face darkened. "What kind of eyesight do you have?! I was ten at the time... Okay, maybe it’s not your eyesight—it’s because I was malnourished and never developed properly."
Yi Luowa’s gaze traveled to her chest. She nodded solemnly. "Development does seem... lacking."
The curly-haired girl followed her gaze and immediately hugged her chest protectively. "Y-you’re such a pervert!"
"Tch! How am I a pervert? You said you didn’t develop, so I just glanced out of curiosity," Yi Luowa said, finding the little redhead amusingly silly. Since they seemed to know each other, she decided to tease her. Tugging on the girl’s sleeve, Yi Luowa grinned, "Looks like you’ve made quite a fortune—so generous with your gifts!"
"It’s not me who’s rich—it’s my dad and my brother. They took me home, and both are loaded. Benefactor, I only recognized you from your engagement video. You haven’t changed a bit since I was little—I spotted you immediately! Aren’t I brilliant?"
"You’re... alright, I guess..." Downstairs, a commotion broke out. Yi Luowa peered out the window and saw a bunch of fallen security guards. In the distance, she could hear approaching sirens. Frowning, she turned to the curly-haired girl. "Were your people the ones who knocked all those guards down?"
"Uh-huh! They wouldn’t let me in to find you, so of course we had to knock them down!" The curly-haired girl looked at Yi Luowa with wide, innocent eyes.
Yi Luowa pointed to the distance. "Do you recognize that car?"
The curly-haired girl stood on her toes and took a look. "Of course I do! When I go out, I always have a police car escorting me."
Yi Luowa gave her a light smack on the head. "I don’t care who you are, but this is Xiawu. You messed up, and now people are coming to arrest you. Handle this yourself—I can’t save you."
The curly-haired girl puckered her black lips. "If they arrest me, does that mean I can’t play with you anymore?"
"Yeah, no more playing at all," Yi Luowa said irritatedly.
The curly-haired girl didn’t hesitate; grabbing Yi Luowa’s hand, she took off running. "Benefactor, let’s hide somewhere and let them arrest my people first. Then we can go play together!"
Yi Luowa almost laughed out of sheer frustration. "What’s your name?"
"Joyina. Benefactor, what’s your...? Oops! What kind of question is that? You’re Yi Luowa! Hahaha..."
Kou’er and the three classmates following behind burst into laughter at her ridiculous statement.
Joyina glanced back at them and then turned to Yi Luowa, grabbing her hand. "Benefactor, looks like you have tails too!"
"They’re my friends, not tails!"
"Ohhh, friends, not tails!" Joyina nodded thoughtfully, then smiled at Kou’er. "Since you’re Benefactor’s friends, please excuse me if I seem uneducated—I didn’t get much schooling."
Despite her small stature, the little Joyina ran surprisingly fast. Dragging Yi Luowa with her, she bolted to the first floor. Yi Luowa finally dug in her heels and stopped her. "Enough! You need to turn yourself in, explain the situation, and pay for the medical bills. As long as no one’s seriously injured, it shouldn’t turn into a big deal."
Joyina blinked, startled. "No one’s seriously hurt—I’m a good and gentle girl! I told my people to be soft when they fought."
Yi Luowa rolled her eyes, patting her own chest. "Right, you’re just a kind and gentle little angel."
"Hehe... Benefactor, I caught the sarcasm in your tone! Haha, I’m not stupid, you know!" Joyina beamed with pride.
Yi Luowa felt drained. "Go. Turn yourself in. After you’re done, I’ll treat you to a meal."
Joyina’s face instantly lit up. "Dummy! Something like this doesn’t require me to step up! I was pretending to be scared just to tease you! Come on, since we’re already downstairs, I’ll treat you to a meal. I’ve heard the foie gras in F Country is fantastic, but I never got to try it when I was there. Today, I’m having it with you!"
"Are you naturally dumb, or do you pretend to be?!" Yi Luowa was annoyed at being played.
"My brother says I’m dumb, my dad says I’m smart, and my mom says I flip between the two. Honestly, I don’t even know what I am anymore," Joyina replied, tilting her head and flashing a cheeky grin. "But you’re supposed to be smart—how does it feel to have me mess with you?"
"I want to slap you!" Yi Luowa glared at her angrily.
"Attention, everyone inside! You are now surrounded. You have three minutes to come out with your hands behind your heads! Attention, everyone inside..."
Hearing the familiar announcement, Yi Luowa smiled faintly. Trouble was brewing, and it seemed this little troublemaker Joyina was in for a rough time ahead.
