Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 75: Fusevale Bastille: The Battle Begins.
The same type of Equipment that Ikerth had personally made sure did not exist on planet Zotov anymore.
Ikerth and his Lieutenants had launched their invasion into Zotov with a Blitzkrieg attack. One that left thousands of important Zotovian individuals dead, and hundreds of thousands of weapons destroyed.
Among those individuals, were the most skilled Weapon Smiths the planet had.
Ikerth made sure to kill each one of them with his own hands, after which he proceeded to search their souls and find out all those who knew their craft, before killing those ones too.
He did this, to prevent the Zotovians from being able to create Anti Dragon equipment that dealt more damage to beings with Dragon Factors.
Dragons, Wyverns, Dragonkin and the other subspecies all possessed these factors, so the anti-dragon equipment were threats to them.
As such, Ikerth made sure that both the equipment, their creators and their knowledge of them, were all wiped out with his original Blitzkrieg.
He also handled the channels where the Zotovians could acquire more anti-dragon weapons from—the worlds who tried to help Zotov but were suddenly attacked by Armies of Dragons.
But at the current moment, the Liberation Front currently possessed tons of mass-produced anti-dragon weapons, enough to equip multiple Corps in their armies.
Though the origin of these weapons was known only to the Commander in Chief, Dornik.
Anyway, part of the reason why they wanted to end every single dragon present, was because they did not want the dragons on the other continents finding out that they possessed Anti Dragon weapons.
’Anti’ attributed weapons were not exactly a common commodity, hence the reason why the fact that they had so many would be taken very seriously by the dragons.
And if it was found out that they had these weapons mass-produced, then the Lieutenants would probably join forces to attack the Liberation front, or worst-case scenario; they’d not hesitate to return to their main bodies and inform Ikerth of the situation, even though the Dragon King was busy with other important matters.
His being busy and unable to pay much attention to Zotov at the moment, was the answer to the question of ’Why now?’. As for how Dornik knew this, only a select few First-Class Commanders were aware.
But even though the Liberation Front had anti-dragon weapons, this did not mean a guaranteed victory, as the Dragons were inherently powerful creatures.
Just because someone had anti-dragon weapons, did not mean that they were sure to win against them.
After the meeting with the other commanders, Anda floated up into the sky, just below the clouds and looked down at Ridrea from above.
As a Transcendent Realm existence, even if only an inferior stage, he could spread out his aura to cover thousands of kilometres with ease, so manifesting a piece of his consciousness and infusing it with a bit of energy to overlook the entirety of the Ridrea Country was not much difficult for him.
The man fixed his ’gaze’ on the country below him, on the once-vibrant and diverse land now bearing the cruel scars of the dragon’s conquest.
The indigenous inhabitants of Zotov; be they humans, elves, dwarves, or other races, suffered under the oppressive rule of the invaders.
Some were forced into brutal servitude, toiling ceaselessly in the unforgiving mines to extract Ruindeum.
For those who were not subjected to life in the mines, life offered little respite. They were relegated to the lowest rungs of society, and treated as Third Class Citizens in their own homeland.
Discrimination and injustice were daily companions as they struggled to retain shreds of their dignity.
In some dark corners, the dragons hunted Zotovians for their amusement, turning unfortunate souls into prey, chased through the wilderness, only for their desperate flights to end in tragedy as they were ensnared or cornered by their pursuers.
Worse yet, some dragons revelled in the consumption of the enslaved Zotovians, feasting upon them as if they were mere livestock.
As Anda watched this unfold from above, his expression remained blank.
"Your suffering would come to an end today...permanently."
The man held up his right hand, an orb with strange runic carvings etched across its body. The energies of the universal laws of sealing, space, concealment, trickery, and barriers swirled around this artifact.
Taking a deep breath, the man roused his own magic power, drawing out a bit of it from his energy core and sending it through his hand, into the orb in his palm.
"Unique Skill: Artiforce Invocation."
His words caused streams of energy to escape his body and latch onto the orb in his palm, seeping into it and bypassing all the layers of security and authentication required to activate it.
He was not capable of manipulating all the universal laws required to use the artifact, but with his unique skill, that was not a problem.
The skies vibrated with power as a spatial wave of energy erupted from the orb, spreading out to cover Anda and the entirety of Ridrea below him before one could even blink.
’Only a Transcendent Can break this. The instant Brambus arrives, we’d know.’
Anda shot down towards the ground as he thought this, seamlessly phasing through the barrier as he continued toward Fusevale.
The instant his feet touched down on the ground, the Second-Class Commander Trisgella activated the second barrier artifact, causing a semi-transparent space-warping wave of energy to blanket the sky, extending to take on the form of a massive dome encompassing the entirety of Fusevale alone.
***BOOOMMMM!!!!
What followed were simultaneous explosions of law energy occurring at multiple points all over Fusevale—the destruction of any teleportation waypoints that led out of the entire City.
The Liberation Front Soldiers who had been on standby all around Fusevale roared out loudly and with another Second-Class combatant in the lead, they charged into the city with weapons in their hands.
Naturally, the dragons were shocked shitless as they could not comprehend how such an army was nearby, yet they did not notice.
Even so, the Zotovians did not give them the chance to think it over, attacking with the intent to kill with their anti-dragon weapons.
With the element of surprise on their side and morale at an all-time high, the Liberation Front soldiers poured endlessly into Fusevale, heading towards the Bastille in the centre of the city.
All of a sudden, they found themselves gripped by a paralyzing dread.
It was then, that an enraged voice boomed across the entire city.
[WHO DARES?!]
The voice that resonated across the city was infused with something anyone who the basics about dragons was aware of.
Dragon Fear.
The overwhelming presence of the fearsome aura targeted anything ’non-dragon’ within the city.
Normal Zotovians, already under the oppressive rule of the invaders, were struck by intense terror. Many cowered in their homes, unable to move, while others fell to their knees, quaking in fear.
Even the Liberation Front soldiers, who had entered with their morale at its peak, were not immune. The dragon fear weighed heavily on them, causing panic and confusion in some parts of the army.
Though they had artifacts to protect them from its effects, said artifacts were not all-powerful. At the very least, it was obvious the Dragon’s power was greater than the protection the artifacts could provide.
Some soldiers were taken out of commission, dropping their weapons and falling to the ground, overwhelmed by the sheer terror that had gripped their hearts.
Their high morale dropped rapidly in the face of this terrifying presence.
[We had graciously let you ants to have Alenlet to yourselves, but it seems you fools decided to be greedy for more.]
A singular figure floated into the sky above the Bastille, with red horns and wings, along with a similar coloured scaled tail extending from his lower back.
The man’s gaze scanned the armies invading Fusevale and the dragons rising up to meet them in combat. His gaze settled on the barrier that was around the city, taking a moment to run a quick analysis on it.
’Spatial Isolation...’
His eyes narrowed suspiciously as he tried to find the person who was responsible for the barrier, but came up short.
’I guess I’d have to force them out.’
All this occurred within the span of a few seconds, after which he spoke out once more.
[Since you dared to come here today, then don’t dare to dream about going back alive.]
The instant he made this proclamation, energy surged from his dragon heart, flowing up his throat and condensing in front of his mouth into an orb of bright red flames.
With the ambient energy of the universal law of flames mixed in, he activated his ability.
’Dragon Breath!’
The blazing torrent of destruction tore through the air like a comet, an unstoppable force intent on wiping out the entirety of the Liberation Front Division at the city’s main gates.
Airborne combatants in the path of this breath were incinerated in the blink of an eye, their cries of agony drowned out by the roar of the dragon’s fiery rage.
