Chapter 242: No. 6, The Searcher

Unnamed Dead Galaxy

Dead Galactic Region

Near Dead Zone

December 5th

Year 2018

’Dead Galactic Region’.

As the name implied, the galaxies within these regions were those whose cores had lost power. The Supermassive black holes at the centre did not have the powerful gravity to bind all the stars making it up together.

The galactic barrier had broken and all the stars once bound to this galaxy had been scattered across the void.

It was within this region that a ginormous dragon streaked across.

Crimson eyes, reddish brown scales, a massive wingspan and obsidian claws—this was the full dragon form of Dragon King Ikerth Xagem.

This Dead Galactic Region was not his destination. It was simply a shortcut from the Dead Zone to his destination Galaxy.

Due to the incident with Jamie and Miranda on Zotov, Ikerth’s foothold in his home Vela Galaxy was crumbling.

He had also been ordered to lay low for a while, so the man had steered clear of Vela, whilst also making sure his endeavours in other Galaxies did not face issues.

Losing a steady Ruindeum supply had been a big blow for the Extinction Legion, and though they had other planets under their control from which it could be mined, none could compare to Zotov’s supply.

Just as Ikerth was brooding on this, something entered his perception range, causing his eyes to glow as he turned in that direction.

Who?

His True Voice boomed across the dead space, and after a few seconds, a response came.

Huh? A Dragon?

The fragile space broke open as the newcomer appeared, instantly recognizing Ikerth as a dragon due to his distinctive form.

But it took Ikerth a few moments to recognize the other party.

They gave off an aura of ’Light’ given off by beings born on that side of the polarity spectrum. But at the same time, they also felt like a human.

’Wait a sec. A Being of Light that feels like a human...!’

Ikerth combined the two and the identity of the being floating before him was the answer.

’Nephilim!’

Half-Angel, Half-Human.

The moment Ikerth realised that he was faced with a Nephilim, cold sweat poured down his brow.

It wasn’t because he was scared of this Nephilim; far from it. Ikerth could kill the other party before they could even say their name.

The problem was the significance of a Nephilim being in this area.

Though significantly weaker, this Nephilim was a Race King like Ikerth. And ALL Nephilim Race Kings and Queens of the Universe, whether they are born from Angels or Demons, answered to ONE Master.

The majority of them were usually reclusive and whenever they acted, one could hardly tell that they had done something unless one prodded deeply.

They were just like their Master.

Seeing this one Nephilim, Ikerth had a bad feeling.

He spread out his aura, expanding his perception range he had purposely limited to avoid triggering the attention of any Space Beasts and getting into unnecessary fights.

Once it was expanded to cover the entirety of this dead Galaxy, Ikerth understood something.

This Nephilim was not the only one around. There were hundreds of them!

Because of this, Ikerth could confirm something. Their Master must have ordered them to do something.

This Master of theirs was not someone Ikerth wanted to see at all.

What’s a Dragon King doing in these desolate parts?

Just passing by. It’s a shortcut to my destination. What are you doing here?

When Ikerth sent this question back, the Nephilim Race King narrowed his eyes and responded.

That’s not for you to know, Dragon.

Hmph. Not like I really cared anyway.

Ikerth was certainly annoyed that this weakling dared talk to him like that, but he didn’t react like he normally would.

It was no news on the Intergalactic that Nephilim Race Rulers got big-headed because of their Master.

The Vampire Kings of Neo Titania were having this same issue as well.

Ikerth snorted and turned his gaze before flying away. He didn’t make himself seem like he was running, he just moved at his normal speed—Which was Light Speed by the way (You can’t exactly expect to fly through space at anything below light speed and hope to get to your destination on time.)

Anyway, Ikerth played it cool, moving like normal, then after a while, he began gradually accelerating to get out of there as fast as possible.

In a few minutes, Ikerth was nearing the edge of this dead galaxy. A few more seconds and he’d be out of its range.

It was then, that a True Voice rang out, stopping Ikerth in his tracks.

What’s that over there?

Immediately, the space around Ikerth was locked down. Movement was impossible, even by a micrometre.

’Fuck!’

Ikerth had been trying to avoid this possibility. This was why he was trying to leave as quickly as possible.

But alas, fate had other plans.

The reality around Ikerth trembled. Space before him shattered and looking inside the crack, Ikerth could see a timeless and colourless dimension, where everything seemed to be happening at the same time, yet, nothing was happening.

His head hurt just by looking at it and his vision glitched. Unfortunately, he was frozen, so he couldn’t turn his head away, with the most he could do being to close his eyes.

Ikerth’s Dragon Form was massive.

Enough that he could crush entire planets within his jaws, kind of massive.

Compared to that, the being who floated out of the broken space was tiny. Ikerth would normally miss something that small and squash it without realising it.

However!

Within that tiny body, resided more power than Ikerth could ever hope to gain in his next ten lifetimes.

Her hair was a blend of black and white, with the tips curling and shimmering with shifting colours that changed hues depending on the angle.

She possessed beautiful facial features, harmonising perfectly with her delicate frame. Her appearance evoked a sense of youth, but she also had a contrasting aura of maturity about her.

As for her clothes, she was wearing a simple oversized t-shirt that concealed her figure beneath it, along with a simple pair of shorts and casual sneakers.

Her most striking feature was her eyes. Iridescent, they were. Yet, once she gazed at Ikerth, they changed to a simple pair of black pupils, encased by black irises with very light blue accents.

Beside her was a man with black draconic horns on his head, and a long-spiked tail extending from his lower back. He had black hair and obsidian eyes to match, as well as six pairs of wings extending from his back.

Ikerth’s ’Dragon King’ Authority informed him that this stern-faced man was a ’Dragon Ruler’ with a higher-level Authority.

A ’Dragon Emperor’.

Naturally, this unknown Dragon Emperor also realised Ikerth was a Dragon King, and he raised a brow in confusion, wondering what a Dragon King was doing here.

Noticing this reaction, the woman beside him turned and asked.

"Ghizud, you know this guy?"

The Dragon Emperor, whose name was revealed to be Ghizud, shook his head and responded.

"I’m afraid not, Lady Aster. He’s probably a younger generation King."

’Lady Aster’—he called her.

Even if Ikerth did not know what she looked like, that was more than enough confirmation of the identity of the woman before him.

Of the Six Hybrids, the Myths of Estea, she bore the title of ’Iridescent Versatile’.

Sarina Ophiel Aster.

"Huh? You don’t know him?"

"Lady Aster, it’s impossible for me to know all the younger generation Race Kings."

Ghizud responded with a lightly exasperated tone, and the woman pressed a finger to her head as she thought.

"But you knew the names of the last 18 we encountered..."

"Coincidences, Lady Aster. Coincidences."

"18 coincidences in a row?! Maybe I should take you to a casino."

The woman spoke with a grin, already counting the billions of credits she’d make while Ghizud just sighed and turned back to Ikerth.

His Dragon Emperor Authority activated and all of Ikerth’s Information appeared before his eyes.

This was one thing about Authorities. If someone had a higher one than you, in a sense, you might as well be naked before them. Unless of course, you’re a special case of nonstandard.

Anyway, all of Ikerth’s details connected to the Universe via his Race King title appeared before Ghizud.

"Xagem? That idiot’s clan is still alive? And you’re the current head?"

Ghizud laughed at the thought of Ikerth being his clan head, while Sarina who was now poking one of Ikerth’s wounded scales like it was fascinating turned to ask.

"Who’s that?"

"That guy who likes to sleep a lot. The one in the Scorpion Nebula."

"Ohh!"

The two of them just casually revealed the location of one of Ikerth’s Ancestors, someone even he thought was long since dead.

He had been sleeping for so long that the position of clan head had changed hands over 50 times!

"You’re one of that guy’s brats, huh? What are you doing this far out?"

Ghizud asked this and Ikerth took a deep breath, realising he could move his head again before answering.

"I was researching dead stars to help my gravity law comprehensions."

It was a lie Ikerth had thought off on the spot. He had indeed dabbled in Gravity laws before, but his affinity was abysmal so he never got past the Basic Rank.

Hearing him, Sarina blinked in confusion before responding.

"Sure, your overall power can allow you to tinker with dead stars, but if you’re doing it for gravity, then just give up."

She easily saw through his abysmal affinity and gave her best ’advice’ to him. Then, she turned away, facing Ghizud as she spoke.

"He clearly has no business with the Sword and he won’t be of any use to us. Let’s just go."

Hearing Sarina’s words, Ghizud took his attention off Ikerth and narrowed his eyes at her.

"Lady Aster, you’re staying through to the end this time, right?"

"Hmm? Of course, I am. Why wouldn’t I?"

Sarina responded matter-of-factly, her expression showing her genuine confusion. She didn’t seem to understand why Ghizud was considering the possibility of her leaving.

Ghizud saw this look in her eyes and heaved a long-suffering sigh, pressing his temples as he asked.

"Remind me again, who exactly was it that left Slaifdein to run amok in the Calesius Galaxy 12,000 years ago?

Sarina flinched but quickly collected herself, brushing off the accusation with a dismissive wave.

"That realm was about to close! I had to rush so I couldn’t seal it back!"

At that, Ghizud lost it and retorted with annoyance.

"And it was I who had to deal with Lady Scott who was pissed off that you ruined her and Lord Westley’s date!!"

Sarina avoided his gaze, a clear admission of her guilt in this situation.

"Sorry about that, okay? I’d stay till the end, this time."

"Oh, I’m making sure you do."

Ghizud grabbed Sarina by the arm, even going as far as to use his Authority to glue her arm to his palm as he waved his other hand and ripped space apart.

Sarina just laughed at Ghizud’s actions, not particularly bothered as she could break out of his hold whenever she wanted.

She was just playing along.

Turning back to Ikerth who really wanted to get the fuck out of there, she waved her free hand and dismissed the lock on his body.

"Alright, skedaddle, little dragon".

Did Ikerth want to be called little dragon? Hell No.

But before this woman, he wasn’t even worthy of being called little. Ant, was a more apt term.

Ikerth bowed his head and turned to fly away as fast as he could, but his ears caught Sarina’s last words.

"See you again, little dragon."

’No, please don’t!!’

Too bad, the one with the power to decide this was not him, but the Nephalem who was being dragged out of the third dimension by her subordinate.
