Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 170: Volume 2 Teaser- ‘Lapis’ Moonfall
The World Burned.
In the perception of the incoming imminent doom, the whole of Anadus Prime shook violently.
Mountains quaked, storms stirred, and the very earth itself groaned under the weight of an unspeakable power that threatened to tear it asunder.
Sentient humanoids, caught in the grip of an otherworldly terror, found themselves paralyzed, unable to move or even cry out.
Animals and monsters worldwide trembled in panic, their instincts screaming warnings of the cataclysm to come.
Perhaps it was an instinct possessed by those in the wild, a primal sense that transcended reason, they could subconsciously sense what was going to happen.
Right now, in this time and space. A power that was more than enough to obliterate the entirety of Anadus Prime was created.
Wanete Vespera, the raven-black-haired teenage vampire, dropped to her knees with blood dripping from her left ear, the eardrum ruptured by a powerful sonic blast.
The searing pain was almost unbearable, but she barely registered it. Her cherished grimoire lay in tatters beside her, torn in two and its once-sacred pages now charred and lifeless.
Nevertheless, Wanete cared not for the ruined tome, nor the blood flowing from her ear, nor even the searing pain radiating from her wounded side.
Her amethyst eyes, filled with anguish and confusion, looked up at the figure floating menacingly in the sky above her.
This figure emanated an immense pressure, an aura so overwhelming that it forced Wanete to her knees. The air itself seemed to tremble under this suffocating force, compelling her body to move against her will, as if every fibre of her being was being bent and twisted by an unseen hand.
Through the haze of pain and fear, a desperate cry tore from Wanete’s lips.
"WHY?!"
It was a simple question, but it carried the weight of her fears and despair.
Her voice, though trembling, echoed through the desolate landscape, a plea for answers amidst the chaos.
The person floating in the air above her was a young woman, much like Wanete herself. She was not overly tall, but her presence was commanding, almost regal.
Her hourglass figure and shoulder-length black hair, with bangs framing her delicate face, gave her an ethereal beauty.
Yet it was her eyes that held the most power—crimson red orbs that glowed fiercely against the backdrop of the night sky, burning with an intensity that seemed to pierce through the very soul.
As Wanete’s voice rang out, she called the name of this young woman—the person she called her best friend.
"DAVINA, WHY?!"
...
However, Davina didn’t respond to her.
For a moment, silence reigned.
The world around them seemed to hold its breath, the only sound the distant rumble of destruction.
Wanete’s heart pounded in her chest, and her mind raced, filled with memories of their shared past—moments of laughter, whispered secrets, and bonds that now felt like cruel illusions.
The entire situation was baffling; there had been no indications, and everything had happened so abruptly.
Not far from Wanete, another figure struggled against the oppressive force. Davina’s elder twin brother, his slender form trembling with the effort to move. His short black hair clung to his sweat-drenched forehead, and his blood-red eyes, once full of warmth and mischief, now only held sorrow.
He refused to believe that his sister had turned against them of her own volition. There had to be another explanation, something that could make sense of this nightmare.
"Davina, come to your senses!"
Silence.
"...!"
Davina finally spoke, demanding silence and the power in her voice enforced her will. David’s mouth shut itself of its own volition, his body refusing to respond to his own commands.
The boy choked on his own blood as the power of the law of sound contained in Davina’s voice permeated into him and destroyed his vocal cords...ensuring permanent silence from him.
Ignoring Wanete’s frantic attempts to reach and help David, ignoring the dozens of unconscious masked vampires scattered around them, Davina’s gaze locked onto the man who posed the greatest threat to her.
Despite the devastation around him, he remained untouched, not a speck of dust on his impeccably tailored dark blue suit.
The man looked around her age even though he was far older than she was in more ways than one.
He had a handsome face that’d make even Vampires; known for their supernatural beauty, feel jealous just by looking at him.
His silver hair looked like moonlight captured in strands, and his clear blue eyes, with their predatory black slits, met Davina’s crimson gaze without flinching.
"Well, well, well...."
The man’s voice was smooth, almost mocking, as he sheathed the blade in his hands and stabbed it into the ground. He looked up at Davina, a wry smile playing on his lips.
So, you would continue to stand in my way?
Davina’s voice resonated with power, her question more a statement of fact than a query. In response, Jamie shrugged, his fingers tapping the hilt of his sword as he chuckled lightly.
"That much is obvious."
His reply was one she expected and for a moment, Davina’s expression twisted into one of displeasure. But she quickly controlled herself, sighing as she raised her right hand.
A pity.
Gravity law energy swirled around her fingers and immediately, the ground began trembling heavily. The earth cracked open and water surged out, however, this water was unable to quench the sea of azure flames consuming almost everything in sight. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
At the same time, the tides of the oceans grew to monstrous heights. Tsunamis crashed against the shores, and the planet’s spin slowed, throwing the world into further chaos.
Seismic activity levels increased and volcanoes began erupting all over, releasing clouds of ash that billowed to the skies.
Raising his gaze to the sky, Jamie looked directly at the cause of this.
The massive celestial body that was rapidly approaching the atmosphere at supersonic speed.
My Apologies, Sir Jamie.
Davina voiced out a sudden apology, a wistful expression adorning her face, though her eyes remained cold as she continued.
But since you chose to continue to stand in my way, I need to have you exit the stage...permanently.
She clenched her fist, and the gravitational force intensified, obeying her unspoken will.
The giant moon above them cracked, light bursting from its surface as it was torn apart by the intense gravitational force Davina commanded.
It shattered into massive chunks, each one twice as big as an average planet and they all hurled down towards the ground—towards Jamie.
Met with this sight of the moon crashing down towards him, Jamie’s lips twisted into a resigned smile as he spoke.
"Well, I’ll be damned."
