Beyond the Bloodline-Chapter 166: Interlude 1-3: On That Day, Twelve Thousand Years Ago III
These mini black holes devoured parts of the undead, with each one devouring two or three undead before exploding and taking out four or five more in the process.
"Here, have a big one."
Jamie moved his hands and conjured a singularity in his palm, one very noticeably different from the others as it pulsed unstably.
He ’tossed’ the small black hole in Yuliv’s direction, with it growing as it moved away from Jamie with a range of destruction that expanded per second.
By the time it reached Yuliv, the basketball-sized black hole had grown as large as a mountain.
It went without saying that all the undead in its path had been consigned to oblivion.
As it approached Yuliv who was on the ground, the ’Mad King’ narrowed his eyes silently, before clicking his tongue.
’I didn’t want to use Slaifdein yet...it hasn’t finished absorbing all that guy’s power and using it would cause it to lose some of the power it hasn’t absorbed yet.’
Nevertheless, Yuliv understood he had zero choice here.
Holding out his right hand, he summoned a blade of pitch-black darkness, a weapon seeming forged from the essence of the void. The sword pulsed with an eerie, malevolent energy, absorbing the ambient light around it.
As the black hole neared, Yuliv gripped his dark blade tightly and swung it in a powerful overhead slash. The blade cut through the air with a terrifying grace, slicing through space-time itself. The force of the swing was infused with an esoteric power of destruction, a power that transcended normal universal laws.
The blade cut through the air, leaving a trail of shimmering light in its wake. As it connected with the black hole, there was a moment of intense pressure, the air around them seeming to vibrate with the collision of forces.
Much to Jamie’s shock, the dark blade cleaved the black hole in two, the singularity splitting apart with a deafening roar. The black hole began to unravel, its destructive energy dissipating into nothingness as its overwhelming gravitational pull was neutralized, utterly ’destroyed’ by Yuliv’s slash.
The momentum of the slash didn’t stop with the black hole. It continued its path, tearing through the atmosphere and into the cold expanse of space. The destructive arc travelled further, reaching the distant moon that orbited the planet.
In a brilliant explosion of dark energy, the moon shattered into countless fragments, obliterated by the sheer force of Yuliv’s strike.
The battlefield fell silent, the only sounds being the distant echoes of the moon’s destruction. Yuliv lowered his dark blade, its malevolent glow fading slightly.
Jamie silently watched as the remnants of the moon scattered across the starry sky, a testament to the overwhelming power Yuliv had just unleashed.
"...you destroyed the moon? Why, thank you."
The Hybrid calmly spoke as he held out his right hand and clenched his fist.
Spatial power enveloped the floating moon fragments, and with a downward pull, he created spatial channels that transported them above the planet’s atmosphere.
He left the planet’s gravity to do the rest of the work, pulling the fragments down to the ground below.
"I think they called this spell ’Armageddon’."
The shattered moon pieces began raining down, forcing Yuliv, who had exhausted the power of his sword projection, to run around frantically to avoid the meteor onslaught.
He sent waves of undead after Jamie, but they were all obliterated by the falling meteors before they could get close.
"Undead, don’t exactly like fire, do they?"
With those words, Jamie flew straight to the ground, unaffected by the meteors. He calculated Yuliv’s movement trajectory and landed right in front of him.
"Here, my favourite Fire spell."
"?!"
Yuliv’s body froze in space, rendering him immobile and a perfect target for Jamie’s incoming fist.
Seven blue-ringed magic circles manifested around Jamie’s arm in the split second before his fist collided with Yuliv’s face.
|Azure Flame Authority: Brachium|
Jamie’s fist, cloaked in seven blue-ringed magic circles, collided with Yuliv’s face, unleashing an immense torrent of flame law power. The impact was cataclysmic, sending Yuliv hurtling into the ground, his head sinking deep into the earth.
The overwhelming force of the punch radiated outward, blue flames incinerating millions of undead in an instant. The intense heat turned the planet’s crust into molten rock, creating rivers of lava that spread in all directions.
The power of the punch continued to escalate, destabilizing the planet’s core. The ground shook violently as fissures opened, spewing magma and fire. Within moments, the planet began to collapse under the sheer magnitude of the unleashed force.
Yuliv, battered and burned, was launched into space by the force of the blow, blitzing out faster than the planet could completely explode.
He flew straight into the neighbouring planet in the star system, crashing down with such force that an entire continent was obliterated upon impact.
His body lay in a crater of destruction, bloodied and charred, with half his face bearing severe fifth-degree burns.
For a Race King like him, even such a powerful attack was not enough to put him down, however, his wounds weren’t healing due to the power of Jamie’s Unique Authority, his Ultimate Skill.
Still marred with burns all over, Yuliv forced himself to his feet as he took in the sight of the planet exploding in the sky above him.
’Fuck...there go all my undead.’
Yuliv understood that the main focus of Jamie’s attack was not him, but the millions of undead he had gathered, hence why the only damage he took was from the initial impact.
The rest of the power rippled outwards to destroy the undead, but some of them were undead created out of Race Lord corpses; so, it was only natural that the collateral damage from destroying them obliterated the planet.
A streak of blue light emerged from the burning planet and Yuliv’s lips tightened. He held out his hands and activated a skill.
|Cradle of Swords. |
From the remnants of the continent he had crashed on, thousands of swords stabbed into the ground manifested, conjured from his powerful sword law energy.
’I need to figure out which one is his weakness!’
Yuliv began picking up different swords and hurling them towards the incoming Hybrid, closely observing Jamie’s reactions.
At first, Jamie simply teleported the swords away, but one sword suddenly broke out of the spatial channel, piercing towards him with destructive energy swirling around its blade.
In that moment of surprise, ten more swords were already thrown towards him at relativistic speed. Nevertheless, Jamie easily dealt with them, using his hands to smack nine out of the way and dodging the tenth.
’That one!’
Yuliv’s eyes narrowed as he noticed Jamie dodging a particular sword. He rushed forward and threw another ten swords at Jamie. Again, the Hybrid blocked nine with his hands and dodged the tenth.
’So, he really is still weak to silver! It was just his suit that saved him the last time!’
Coming to this conclusion, Yuliv infused his blades with more law power, turning them all silver. He grabbed two in his hands and leapt into the air, charging towards Jamie, who was growing bored with all the sword throwing.
"Oh, good. I was already tired of that."
Jamie spoke as he twirled his fingers in the air, conjuring a spatial construct—a long scythe nearly twice his height. He swung the scythe to meet Yuliv’s twin blades, beginning a clash that erupted with a flurry of sparks.
Jamie’s scythe whirled and sliced through the air with deadly precision, each swing pushing Yuliv back.
Despite the ferocity of his attacks, Yuliv was adept at deflecting the scythe’s blows, his twin swords moving like extensions of his own body.
"Faster, faster!!"
Jamie exclaimed, his eyes gleaming with delight as he pushed Yuliv back in this clash. The Mad King snarled and sent a rain of swords towards Jamie with a sweeping motion of his hand.
The sky darkened as thousands of swords materialized and descended upon Jamie like a deadly storm.
But Jamie was unfazed.
With a fluid motion, he spun his scythe, creating a barrier that deflected the rain of swords, each impact ringing out like a bell.
Amid this onslaught, Yuliv suddenly summoned a sword with spatial destruction power, hurling it straight at Jamie’s scythe. The sword pierced through the scythe’s blade, shattering it into fragments of light.
Before Jamie could make a snide comment about that being ’unfair’, Yuliv charged toward him, his eyes blazing with light.
He thrust one of his silver swords directly at Jamie’s head and on pure reflex, Jamie raised his hand to catch the blade.
To his shock, the silver blade pierced his skin and embedded itself in his flesh, bursting out from the other side of his palm.
Jamie’s eyes widened in pain and surprise, blood dripping from the wound.
"...wait, what?"
◇ ◇ ◇
"...wait, what?"
Miranda echoed the exact same words in the same instant that Jamie did.
Jamie’s disciples were also dumbfounded, as were the Incomplete Hybrids.
To the Race Kings and their subordinates watching, their surprise seemed incomprehensible. However, thoughts of this vanished from their heads the moment they sensed the ground around Miranda began to melt.
The ambient temperature rapidly increased and even these beings who could survive being tossed into stars felt their skins begin to scald from the heat.
|You...you guys let that thing grow to THIS extent? |
Miranda spoke with an undertone of anger in her voice; however, one look was all she needed to understand that the Race Kings were confused about the reason for her anger.
|Even if all you ants here burned your life forces and combined your power to attack Jamie, the most you would be able to do is burn a few hairs on his skin.
And yet that guy just stabbed an entire sword through Jamie’s hand, ignoring his durability like it wasn’t even there!!|
"?!"
Yuliv’s ability to injure Jamie came not from his own innate strength, but from the power of the Demon Sword Slaifdein.
This means that the Demon Sword had devoured enough power that it could now bypass Jamie’s multilayer barriers...which was a feat in its own right.
Miranda ignored the dumbfounded Race Kings and contacted her ’assistants’, telling them to increase the power of their barrier and make sure to strongly maintain the integrity of the Galaxy, because Jamie...wasn’t gonna play around anymore.
◇ ◇ ◇
Looking at his bloodied palm, Jamie spoke.
"I guess things like this are my fault. I play too much after all."
Yuliv instinctively backed away after stabbing Jamie. The Hybrid’s reaction was far from normal.
What’s more, the wound he had barely managed to cause with a full power strike healed up in the same second Jamie shattered the blade and pulled out the pieces from his palm.
"Welp, guess the Calesius Galaxy might end today."
The moment he said those words, Yuliv lost sight of Jamie. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
In the next second, Yuliv’s vision went dark and his body turned hot.
No, it was more apt to say he had been tossed into something very hot. He felt rocks tear at his skin, and when his vision returned, he saw himself falling onto a gas-giant planet.
Looking at the star going supernova in the distance he finally understood what happened.
Jamie had punched him so hard that he flew through an entire star, bashed through a few planets, and eventually crashed into the gas giant.
The Hybrid silently clapped his palms and a massive gravitational force caused all the gas that made up the planet of over 70 billion km2 in area to contract rapidly.
The gas was all forcefully condensed into a human-sized orb with Yuliv’s body inside it, and Jamie then conjured a fingernail-sized blue flame and tossed it at the orb.
***KAABOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!!!
