Chapter 105: Sonic Disaster

Coincidentally, it happened to be in the same direction as the Void Gate so the transcendents assumed that was Althalos’ target, and dashed towards him to stop him.

"You’re not going anywh-!"

**BAMMM!!!

A fist coated in golden flames slammed into the side of the light spirit’s face, hitting him even though he was in his immaterial form.

Faster than he could fully register the attack, Althalos spun around and delivered a high kick to the side of the spirit’s skull, before unleashing a sword slash of golden flames that engulfed the man’s body.

It was far from being enough to kill him, but it would put him out of the way long enough for Althalos to reach his destination.

He continued on his way, leaving behind Lillie who finally decided to be serious about carrying out Miranda’s orders.

The murky smoke she had spread around was drawn towards her, enveloping her form and forming a small cocoon. Her silhouette gracefully expanded, undergoing a seamless metamorphosis within it.

When the smoke dissipated, it unveiled the emergence of a young-looking woman, with wings adorned in beautiful shades of purple that reflected the glow of ambient light.

The whole transformation took only a few seconds, and right after it ended, a skill was activated.

’Sonic Disaster’.

Lillie’s lips parted and she expelled a short sharp burst of sound.

**BOOOOMM!!!!

The burst of sonic energy Lillie released erupted like an explosion, expanding rapidly and engulfing the group of transcendents.

The Force behind it was relentless, hurtling the bodies of the transcendents through the air as if they were mere leaves in a storm.

Disoriented by the sound, their bodies collided with the ground with tremendous force, creating deep craters upon impact.

Lillie yawned lightly as if she felt sleepy, her wings flapping in the air lightly as she parted her lips once more in preparation for another Sonic Attack.

◇ ◇ ◇

As soon as Jamie gave Althalos an order, the Hybrid turned behind him and waved his hand, using the power of his Child of Space skill to break open a spatial gate which he used to cross over from Bliteon to Ladoa, right into the room where Miranda and Dornik were in.

In his hands as he appeared, were the corpses of two Sovereign Dragons whose necks were twisted in directions that should physically be impossible.

The poor dragons just so happened to be nearby when Jamie was about to leave so he distorted the space around their necks and crushed them, whilst simultaneously doing the same to their hearts in their chests.

His sudden appearance startled the First Classes, while Miranda calmly waved at him. However, her eyes widened silently the next moment when she noticed that Jamie’s Child of Space Skill was active.

"I’m going to need you to handle the Lieutenant of Bliteon, I sensed their presence rapidly closing in when I left there."

Jamie spoke while dropping the dead dragons into Void portals that appeared beneath his feet, walking up to the table and pointing at Dornik, along with four of the First-Class Commanders.

With all the battles that occurred at Void City, especially with Althalos and Lillie’s appearances, as well as the Knight’s flashy attack earlier, it would be weirder if the other Transcendents on Bliteon did not sense something wrong and come over.

As the intel of Void City had not been correct, Jamei didn’t think there were going to be just three transcendents like Dornik had said there were, so he picked the Five of the Liberation Front Higher-ups, along with Miranda and using his skill, he distorted the space around them and created portals that sucked their bodies into them faster than they could react.

Their visions darkened for a moment and when light finally re-entered their eyes, they were on the battlefield that was Void City.

Hundreds of thousands of dragons were roaring savagely as they charged at themselves and ripped each other’s flesh apart.

Breath attacks flew here and there, blasting the Sectors of the City to bits while foot soldiers; dragonkin, and soldiers from other races hacked and slashed at each other in a brutal melee on the ground.

"...what is going on here?"

Dornik couldn’t help but ask as this sight dumbfounded him more so than Jamie’s ability to teleport them over such a large distance regardless of their will.

No matter how he looked at it, the dragons, driven by some strange frenzied madness with bloodshot eyes, were inexplicably turning their destructive might upon themselves.

Blood and guts spilt as the army of Zotov’s invaders obliterated itself right before his very eyes.

Upon closer inspection, he noticed that there seemed to be some sort of light purple mist surrounding the area, and when he tracked the source, he ended up laying his eyes on a young woman with butterfly wings, curled up in the air.

Her wings lightly flapped, releasing tiny little sparkly scales that fell onto the ground below, carried by a clearly unnatural wind to spread to other parts of the city.

’That’s the power of the creature she summoned!’

Lillie had turned the entire dragon army on itself, using her power to send them into a frenzy and attack their own colleagues, thinking that they were each other’s enemies instead of her.

[Violet!]

The moment she sensed Miranda’s presence, the polymorphed Butterfly turned towards her with a smile, flying over and hugging Miranda tightly.

Even still, her wings continued releasing those tiny scales, making the First-Class Commander back away for fear of being controlled as well; after all, they could see that the other transcendents were clearly under the influence.

It was then that they noticed that although Jamie was the one who teleported them, the man himself was nowhere to be seen.

What’s more, they could now sense the auras of the rapidly approaching Transcendents, noting that there were four of them, instead of the three they originally knew about.

"Where’s Althalos?"

[That guy? Jamie sent him to do something inside the Void Gate. Don’t know what though.]

Lillie replied as she nuzzled her cheeks against Miranda’s, while the Hybrid glanced in the direction of the destroyed underground facility, where she could sense Jamie’s presence.

’I see...’

She quickly figured out Jamie’s intentions and released a bit of aura to obscure Lillie from perceiving Jamie, though this didn’t seem to be necessary as she was the only thing in Lillie’s worldview at the moment.

"Alright Lillie, get off me for a bit.

I have a few questions to ask one of the Lizards coming over."

[Should I capture them for you?]

Lillie asked with shining eyes but Miranda’s reply doused the flame of her enthusiasm.

"No. I want to handle it personally."

She was visibly disheartened by Miranda’s rejection of her offer, but then it dawned on her that for Miranda to want to take action in person, the matter was definitely very serious.

Without hesitation, she pulled out of her hug and took some distance away, before finally registering the presence of Dornik and the others who had geared up for battle.

The attention she paid them, however, was fleeting, as she soon returned her gaze to Miranda who instructed her to continue dealing with the dragon armies.

The Hybrid then proceeded to summon her trusty chainsaw, revving up the machine before charging straight towards the Leading Red Dragon Transcendent.

◇ ◇ ◇

While Miranda entered her battle with the Commanding Lieutenant on Bliteon, Jamie was looking at the handiwork of Althalos who had left the Half Vampire restrained in the place he instructed.

The Elf whom he had poisoned was now dead on the floor, with a massive 50 cm wide hole in his chest that was still glowing with Althalos’ residual golden aura.

The Zotovian Elf, on the other hand, was sprawled on the floor unconscious, her spear now a puddle of molten metal on the floor.

As for the Half Vampire, the man was constantly screaming in pain as his body had been crucified on a giant X cross of golden flames, with dagger constructs of solar energy piercing into his palms, feet, knees and elbows, while a sword of golden flames pierced his torso.

Solar Energy was quite dangerous for Vampires, as it was an energy that came from Stars, the same celestial bodies whose rays were harmful to them.

"Good. Maybe I should have Miranda do this for me after."

Jamie spoke as he summoned the Galaxy Sword and walked up to the Half Vampire, encasing it in Azure Flames as he thrust the weapon through the man’s heart.

"GAAAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!"

The moment Jamie thrust the Galaxy Sword through the Half Vampire’s heart, an eruption of azure flames enveloped the man, searing through his form with unrelenting fury.

A primal scream echoed as the flames consumed the Half Vampire, reducing him to ashes, and EXP for Jamie.

[Level Up!]

[Level Up!]

[...]

Jamie dismissed the notifications and held out his other hand, grabbing onto the soul Fragment of the Half Vampire that was about to begin its return journey to his real body.

"Still not enough for the intermediate stage, huh?

He muttered with a hint of disappointment as he knew what was lacking to break through from the inferior stage of the Sovereign Realm to the intermediate one, glancing at the soul fragment in his palm.

’Not yet.’

With that thought, he put away the soul fragment and dashed towards the Void Gate nearby, moving through it without hesitation.

When he opened his eyes on the other side, a wry smile formed on his face as he took in the sight of the Althalos ’Wreaking Havoc’.

The underwater kingdom of Mermaids was burning in flames.
