Chapter 104: Althalos the Paladin.

**BOOOOMMM!!!

The blood from the Half-Vampire’s body that spilt onto the elf when he was pierced by Jamie’s sword suddenly combusted into azure blue flames, before igniting in an explosion that engulfed the entire area.

Before the flames consumed him, Jamie could see the Transcendent’s Shock as Jamie causally performed the ridiculous feat of using Blood Magic with another person’s blood.

In the midst of the searing inferno, the elf who had intended to launch an attack found herself overwhelmed by the sudden eruption of esoteric flames. Acting swiftly, she enveloped herself in a protective shield of energy, creating a barrier against the flames powered by a transcendent’s blood.

The vibrant blue flames licked the edges of her defensive aura, but she remained unscathed, shielded from the esoteric and potent magic at play. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

Still, this was within Jamie’s expectations.

In fact, none of his attacks were executed with the intention of killing the Transcendents, as he knew he could not.

Putting it in Game terms, Jamie simply could not deal enough damage to reduce a Transcendent’s HP to Zero.

Immediately after, Jamie swung his hand upward, carving through the Ruindeum-coated ceiling and making his way to the surface, where he saw Void City to be in a far worse state than he remembered.

His eyes locked onto the figure who was going up against seven other transcendents, while somehow holding the upper hand.

’No, it’s not just one...there’s someone else with him. Is that Lillie?’

Jamie noticed the presence of Miranda’s pet butterfly who was dispersing a murky purple smoke into the area that interfered with the transcendents’ senses and poisoned them.

Their energy circulations were disturbed and if this kept on, their cognition would also face disruptions as well.

’Yep, she’s clearly toying with them.’

Jamie came to that conclusion with a sigh, before returning his gaze to the man in the knight uniform and using his Telepathy.

While he could give orders to Lillie, as far as the butterfly was concerned, his orders were always Second Priority so he didn’t even bother trying.

’Let’s have him serve up a half-dead transcendent for me.’

◇ ◇ ◇

Althalos the Paladin.

That was what the Knight whom Miranda summoned was known by.

He was the Vice-Commander of the Argent Empire’s First Order of Imperial Knights and one of the most powerful beings in the Interstellar Empire.

But like every being above Transcendence, the power he could use in this world was limited greatly.

However, since he was ridiculously strong, the lowest his level could go was 1000.

This was already sufficient to deal with multiple transcendents, but when you took his higher combat experience, superior energy quality and law energy purity into account, then it would require a lot more than just seven Transcendents to hold him off.

Althalos’s speciality was Solar Magic.

Just by releasing his energy, the surrounding temperature was raised to levels that rendered any form of water, or ice magic useless.

The spell circles couldn’t even form in the first place.

"Solar Flare."

Magic power gathered on the man’s open palm and gave birth to a giant fireball. It looked like the basic fire magic spell, but his elemental affinity wasn’t exactly ’Fire’ but ’Sun’.

As such, it was a fire, yet not a fire. It was the power of the Sun.

The bright golden flames accelerated, increasing in size and dispersing an extraordinary amount of violent and hot wind that knocked the transcendents back.

Even before firing it, the mere collateral damage from the hot wind would be enough to annihilate Void City ten thousand times over and still have plenty of charges left over.

But he prevented this by encapsulating the mini-sun with a barrier at the same time he activated it.

Even so, this attack would only be good to deal with one, maybe two transcendents due to the amount of power he was limited to using on Zotov.

’The Dragon and that Human Swordsman are the most dangerous here so I’d deal with them first, with more focus on the Human since his Time law manipulation is quite the hassle.’

Just as he selected his targets and was about to launch the spell, a voice rang out in his head.

[Althalos.]

"?! Your Majesty!"

His hand that was about to let go of the orb of flames stopped moving as he exclaimed with a loud voice.

Seeing this, the Leader Dragon who had transformed to his full form and was breathing heavily had a bad premonition.

’This man...that uniform is the Argent Empire’s, there’s no doubt about that.

Did Jamie Westley escape those three...?’

As he accurately guessed the situation, he charged up his destruction law energy and unleashed a full-powered breath in Althalos’s direction, but it never reached.

A Six-ringed spell circle manifested in front of the knight and released a storm of spiralling violet-coloured flames that collided with his breath mid-air and nullified it completely.

Meanwhile, Althalos was getting teary-eyed over the sound of his liege’s voice which he hadn’t heard in over ten thousand years.

How his tears hadn’t evaporated from the heat of his flames was quite the mystery.

[Don’t kill those Transcendents. I don’t want them returning to their true bodies yet, especially the dragons.

Except for the human, that is. Kill that one.

When you’re done, go to the location where I’m placing an energy beacon, you’ll see three others there.

A Half Vampire with a stab wound in his chest and a poisoned elf, kill the elf and leave the Half Vampire half dead, I have a use for him.

Finally, head straight to the Void Gate you see and wreak havoc on whatever is on the other side. However, you should be careful so as not to destroy the EREs there.]

"Yes, Your Majesty."

Even though Jamie wasn’t anywhere near him, the man still bowed lightly, before looking up at the Transcendents and speaking.

"Rejoice, His Majesty as graced you with the favour of living to see another day."

His golden pupils darted in the direction of the human swordsman as he continued.

"But you...that favour does not extend to you."

The instant he spoke, Althalos’s figure vanished and he reappeared beside the Human swordsman. His left hand stretched out and grabbed the human’s neck faster than the latter could react, before blitzing down to the ground and slamming his head into the earth.

Barely a second had passed as he flew back up into the air with the Human in his grasp, piercing through the clouds as he ascended towards the highest layer of the planet’s atmosphere.

The Human swordsman naturally tried attacking, summoning a wave of piercing swords while trying to slice at Althalos but the Knight simply removed the barrier surrounding his Solar Flare and let the heat from the mini sun ’melt’ the weapon constructs the human had created.

"By His Majesty’s order, die."

With those words, Althalos, who had ascended higher than the planet’s stratosphere, slammed the Solar Flare into the face of the human transcendent.

**KAAABOOOMMMM!!!!!!

As Althalos’s Solar Flare collided with the Human swordsman’s body in the upper reaches of the planet’s atmosphere, a cataclysmic explosion ensued.

The impact unleashed an overwhelming release of solar energy, creating a blinding burst of light that expanded rapidly, consuming the very fabric of space.

The shockwave from the explosion reverberated through the stratosphere and beyond, surging with a destructive force that the Human Swordsman, already weakened from expending his energy to restore the items destroyed in Jamie’s battle, stood no chance against.

His form was completely obliterated by the detonation, and his Avatar body was completely erased from existence.

With the infusion of universal law energies in the Solar Flare, even the soul fragment he had in the avatar was erased as well, translating to serious soul damage to his real body.

From the ground, the spectacular explosion in the upper atmosphere painted the sky with an intense burst of light, with a brilliance so vivid that they could all see it clearly.

There was no doubt among the other transcendents that the human swordsman had met his ultimate demise.

"You’re next."

The third dragon among the group, the Non-Estean Earth Dragon suddenly heard that voice beside her ears, sending shivers down her spine.

She quickly reacted, summoning a giant arm-shaped construct of earth to smack the Knight out of the air but the man simply dashed out of range and then unsheathed his blade.

The sword was engulfed in bright golden flames and he moved at hypersonic speed, dashing straight towards the elven bowwoman and slicing her arm that was pulling on her bowstring.

"GAARGGHH!!"

He ignored her scream of pain and spun around, delivering a kick that sent her hurtling straight towards the Leader Dragon’s direction.

"Sol Bullet."

With Fundamental offensive magic, he released a beam of golden light from the tip of his sword and straight towards the earth dragon, forcing her to use her breath to counter the attack.

[Aren’t you supposed to do something at that beacon? Why are you still here?]

Lillie’s voice rang out beside his ear and he looked to see the butterfly pierced on his shoulder.

"If I left, would you take this seriously?"

[Violet told me to ’wreak havoc’, that’s what I intend to do. Now scurry along.]

Althalos sighed softly before using his finger to flick Lillie off his shoulder and dashed towards the location Jamie had marked.
