Being Op With My Broken System: All Limits Have Errors-Chapter 54: A magic item
Chapter 54: A magic item
Alex’s feet landed on the ground softly, his gaze returning to Fabio’s face.
"You piece of shit, stop staring at me!"
Fabio shouted and waved his hands again, and controlled the two vines toward Alex. He didn’t understand why Alex was able to react so fast to vines, it was starting to leave a bad taste in his mouth.
Alex suddenly sighed.
"You still don’t get it?" He asked softly as his eyes turned silver white, and he slowly lifted one of his hands and opened his palm.
Five bright silver white stars appeared behind him, releasing white threads of energy that linked them into a star pattern within the next second.
This time, it even took less than two seconds!
A look of discomfort appeared on Fabio’s face when he saw this, a bad feeling surged in his heart, and he immediately increased the speed of his vines.
Alex remained indifferent even after the speed of the vines increased, his eyes narrowed as he slowly mumbled.
"Telekinesis."
Right after his voice sounded, Fabio, who was controlling the vines toward Alex, suddenly felt an invisible force grip his body.
"Tch!" Fabio made a gasping sound, the strength of the force that grabbed him was so strong that he instantly lost control of the two vines that were heading for Alex.
Bam! Bam!
Both vines instantly dropped to the ground, causing a loud sound that spread throughout the field.
Meanwhile, one of Alex’s hands was stretched upward toward Fabio, who was suspended in the air. His cloak and hair fluttered while the white light in his eyes looked like white mist.
"W-what is this?! Let me down right now!" Fabio shouted angrily as he kicked his legs in the air. He tried to break free, but the invisible force held him tightly, and he couldn’t even move his hands.
It was embarrassing.
The spectators were shocked to see Alex deal with Fabio so easily, he had rendered his opponent helpless with just a single spell.
In a corner of the sitting area, Laura sat in silence as she watched the scene in the ring. A cold glint could be seen in her eyes; she bit her lower lip gently, and her face showed an irritated expression as she stared at Alex.
"Bastard!" She cursed under her breath.
In another corner, the vice dean of the Dragonic Magic Academy stared at Alex with narrowed eyes. No one knew what she was thinking.
Back in the ring, Fabio continued to struggle fiercely, trying to break free while yelling at Alex to drop him. The teachers were hesitating whether they should step in or not yet.
Basically speaking, the space element was overpowered compared to most elements in certain situations, especially in direct confrontations. But that was mostly at high levels, during the early stages of mages, the space element didn’t give that much of an advantage since others could break free from their control with brute force.
The strength of spells like telekinesis heavily depended on how powerful a mage’s mana was; if their opponent’s mana was stronger, they could easily break free after a bit of struggle.
(Referring to the difference in sub-stages here.)
That was why the teachers were hesitating, they didn’t know if Fabio would be able to break free. He would immediately be disqualified if they came to help, and that would be unfair if Fabio, that’s if he was actually capable of breaking free of course.
While the teachers were hesitating, Alex’s face turned colder as he stared at the struggling Fabio.
"You want to come down? Alright, then." He said before lowering his hand in a swatting motion.
Fabio was suddenly brought down from the air forcefully, and his body slammed into the hard floor of the ring.
Boom!
The ring trembled as Fabio crashed into it; a small crater immediately formed on the ground with Fabio in its centre.
Everyone "..."
Ruthless! Alex was too ruthless! Why would he slam a fellow student into the ground like that? What if his opponent got hurt?!
"Goodness, Alex is too ruthless. Why would he do that?"
"True, could it be that he’s getting back at Fabio? After all, Fabio had done some bad things against him in the past."
"Even then, this is too much. Fabio could get really hurt."
"This Alex is a monster. Did he really just enter the Adept mage rank?"
"I guess we should stop underestimating him, his space element is now dangerous after breaking through to the Adept mage rank."
Alex listened as the students chatted about how brutal he was; he was grinning inwardly, but his face remained expressionless as he stared at Fabio in the distance.
He purposely didn’t toss the other party out of the ring and was waiting for him to get up.
And as Alex had expected, Fabio’s body began to twitch after a while, and he slowly rose up from the small crater.
Everyone looked at him and gasped, not because he had stood up after getting slammed into the ground, but because of the thin yellow barrier that covered his upper body.
A protective magic item!
Judging by the density of the thin barrier around Fabio, they could tell that it was a low-grade protective item that used a grade one magic beast core as its source.
But even though it was a low-grade item, it was enough to protect Fabio from sustaining serious damage after getting slammed into the ground.
Looking at his current appearance, his hair was dishevelled, and bloodstains could be seen on the corners of his lips.
Aside from that, he was completely unharmed.
The vice dean shook her head from where she was sitting.
’What a waste, who would use a magic item in such a competition?’ she thought to herself. She wasn’t the only one who felt this way, many people thought it was too wasteful to use a magic item for such a small competition.
"You bastard, I have to admit that I underestimated you, but there’s no way I’m losing to a trash like you!" Fabio spat with a furious look on his face.
Ignoring the voices that were coming from all directions, he summoned his stars again and formed another star pattern while Alex watched.
"Bind!"
Fabio shouted, and the star pattern behind him suddenly grew larger before lowering to the ground.
The next moment, countless green vines that were only as thick as a person’s arm shot out from the ground one after another. There were tens of them as they rushed toward Alex like a group of snakes.
The "bind" spell of the plant element was like the lightning cage of the lightning element; the vines would lock into a target and chase after them until they caught the target and then bound them in place, restricting all forms of movement.
Alex glanced at the vine’s expressionlessly; he shook his head.
"A trash like me? But you’re the one who’s using a magic item in a fight against a trash." Alex voiced out before suddenly jumping back, reaching the edge of the ring and creating a huge distance between himself and the countless vines that had locked onto him.
He looked at Fabio in the distance as his eyes turned silver white, and the stars of the space element appeared behind him.
Telekinesis!
