Beginning Of Multiverse Saga-Chapter 382: Unknown Region
The next morning, Sharky’s group formally left Bluefield Palace.
However, the palace’s women once again told them that their country lord wasn’t well, so she wouldn’t be seeing them out and that she wished all of them a smooth journey. They also prepared some precious gifts from Bluefield Country.
Diana, Charlotte, and Alina exchanged knowing glances as they looked at Sharky.
They all understood exactly why their country lord wasn’t well.
Sharky had a guilty conscience, his mouth was shut tightly. But that fluffy tail really feels great; no wonder so many people like raising pets.
For some reason, Cassandra really hadn’t wanted to show him that side of her. But with the help of the Primal Skysilk, she had been utterly defeated, and she could no longer control her body.
For now, no one spoke of it. Yet unspoken between them were countless things that would need to be addressed—each in their own way.
---
As soon as the group settled on the road away from the palace, Charlotte and Diana could no longer hold back.
"Sharky! You scoundrel! How could you do such a thing?!" Charlotte’s voice rang out, sharp and scolding.
"You—skirt chaser! Absolutely shameless!" Diana added, glaring daggers at him.
Sharky’s eyes widened as the two women bombarded him with an endless torrent of accusations: "Using your charm to manipulate the country lord? Flirting with everyone in sight? You... you reckless, shameless—"
He held up his hands defensively, trying to calm them. "Wait, wait! I—I can explain! It’s not what you think—"
But they didn’t let him finish. Alina, walking quietly beside them, simply listened, her expression unreadable. She didn’t intervene, letting Charlotte and Diana release their frustration.
After several minutes of scolding, Charlotte and Diana’s voices finally lowered, and their fiery glares softened slightly.
Alina, finally speaking, gave a calm but pointed remark. "You know... this isn’t necessarily a bad thing."
Sharky blinked, startled. "Huh? Not bad?"
Alina smiled faintly. "Now, Bluefiend Country will be our ally. Their country lord has already... fallen into your... influence. This strengthens our position immensely."
Charlotte and Diana exchanged a glance. Slowly, they nodded, considering the strategic advantage in Alina’s words.
After a brief pause, Diana leaned forward, her curiosity piercing. "Wait... tell us exactly how you did it. How did you... make her fall?"
Sharky’s face flushed slightly, caught between embarrassment and pride. "Well... it’s a long story..."
Charlotte crossed her arms, her eyes narrowing in suspicion and curiosity. "A long story? You mean scheming your way into her bed while pretending to be innocent?"
Sharky gulped, realizing he might have to carefully navigate this explanation—or risk another round of scolding.
Alina, meanwhile, allowed herself a small, satisfied smile, knowing that the outcome had already benefited them strategically.
---
Sharky took a deep breath and began explaining. "Alina came to warn me that many people have discovered my transcendent aptitude. She wanted to keep me safe. But... due to some interference, her charm activated. And... well... things got out of hand."
He rubbed his face, sighing. "At that moment, our boundary... got crossed. It wasn’t intentional, but it happened."
Charlotte and Diana exchanged glances, their expressions a mix of disbelief and concern. Hearing his transcendent aptitude exposed, their faces turned even more serious.
After being around each other for so long, the three of them had found out about his transcendent aptitude for various reasons. They also knew just how much trouble such aptitude would get him into.
They asked each other a few more questions. When they learned that it had been exposed during the battle with the Golden Crow Crown Prince, Charlotte said with a serious expression, "Don’t go to the Fiend King Court. It’s way too dangerous."
Shockingly, Diana didn’t argue against her and said, "Indeed. Many people will want to kill you before you can grow. After all, no one wants another great enemy to appear on their own cultivation path. Furthermore, some people need your flesh and blood. It’s rumored that the blood essence of a transcendent aptitude cultivator can prolong your longevity, and it also has great benefits toward cultivation."
Alina said, "Sharky, you should go back to human territory with big sister Charlotte and Diana. I don’t want you to lose your life in the Fiend King Court."
Charlotte and Diana both nodded. They thought to themselves that this woman might be sneaky and cunning, but she was still able to discern serious matters.
Sharky said, "I’ll ride with you guys for part of the journey, and make my decision as things play out. I suspect only a few people know about this, so it might not be as dangerous as you think."
After chatting a bit more about the subject, they could only temporarily push the issue aside.
---
When the group left Bluefield City, Charlotte suddenly voiced her surprise, asking, "Sharky, how did Bluefield Lord know about this?"
"Normally speaking, that should be something only the higher ups in the Fiend King Court should know. Why was she able to obtain that information?"
Alina explained, "The Fox race’s people have always been good at being smooth in social situations. Their relationship with the different forces is quite good, so their intelligence network is also outstanding."
Charlotte and Diana both nodded inwardly. Alina was more familiar with the two fiend races, so this type of explanation made sense.
---
After the tension was defused, they all gradually calmed down. When they arrived at a small town, Sharky called for a stop to get some rest.
Soni was confused. She said, "It has only been half a day since we left Bluefield City. Why are we stopping for a rest so quickly?"
Alina coughed lightly and said, "We’ll listen to him and stop."
Diana and Charlotte couldn’t take the strange atmosphere in the carriage anymore either. They both voiced their approval of the break too.
They wandered around the small town while deep in thought. In order to ease the awkwardness, Sharky found a topic and remarked, "Hm? There seemed to be quite a few strong individuals along the way here."
"You’re right. I noticed that before in Bluefield City too. At first, I thought it was because Bluefield Country was more open to outsiders, and that these cultivators were here to experience the famous fox women." Diana didn’t want to talk to him at first, but since it was about something important, she still responded.
Charlotte sighed and added, "After the great war between humans and fiends, it’s already been a long time since I last saw so many fiends."
Alina wanted to ask if these two had experienced that bitter war, but she suddenly remembered how strangely they had been acting right before she spoke and swallowed the words right back down.
"I seem to have heard those fiends chatting about some treasure map and great treasure," Diana said. She had been paying close attention to everything the entire time.
Sharky thought about it, and bought the treasure map, although he mostly thought it was a scam. But looking at the faces of three, he bought it.
The three women moved over. Their fragrances wafted over him; each was truly beautiful in its own way. However, their expressions quickly changed when they saw the contents. They exclaimed, "An Unknown Region!"
The so-called treasure map recorded the location of an Unknown Region. However, it didn’t say in detail which Unknown Region it was.
Sharky was surprised when he saw their reaction. He asked, "You all know about Unknown Regions?"
At first, he had asked Alina about it, because there he will be able to find the Phantomire DNA, one of the strongest aliens, which he liked to use. But Alina hadn’t said a thing. She had even told him not to look into those places.
However, later he forgot to ask her more about the matter. The two grandmasters definitely knew more details, though.
Sure enough, Charlotte explained, "By now, you have probably already realized that this world is full of secret dungeons. Such dungeons are very likely to be entirely different from our world. People have suspected that they were left behind by extraordinary ancient figures, and that they might be those individuals’ cultivation dwellings.
Of course, there is a chance that these dungeons are connected to other worlds in the universe. Because this concept touches upon the laws of space and time, we have only been able to gain pitiful fragments of understanding.
These dungeons often carry opportunities and great treasures, and they are very suitable for cultivators to train in. If one can keep access to a dungeon all to oneself, that often signifies the rise of a sect or clan.
What people have all accepted to be the case is that the larger the dungeon, the more dangerous it often is. At the same time, it could mean more abundant rewards. Furthermore, there have long been some ancient legends that state that there are twelve Unknown Regions. Within them are all kinds of miraculous skills and treasures. If one obtains one of them, one might even be able to obtain eternal life."
Sharky’s expression grew strange. Aren’t these legends a bit exaggerated? I’ve already been to quite a few of these dungeons, but they aren’t anything impossible to deal with.
Charlotte naturally didn’t know what he was thinking and continued, "However, no one knows the twelve mysterious dungeons’ locations. No one even knows their names. Even so, as time went on, those blessed with fortune were occasionally able to enter them, but not a single person was able to come out alive.
The friends and relatives of those experts searched for those dungeons through the clues that were left behind, but they were unable to find anything. It was almost as if those dungeons could move on their own, and in completely unpredictable ways. That is why they were called the Unknown Regions."
Diana added, "It’s not that no one was able to come out alive. A few decades ago, for the sake of immortality, the emperor Henry used the entire country’s strength to search for these Unknown Regions. Later on, he happened to find out some information about an Unknown Region named Terena. He sent out all of his trusted aides to search for a method of immortality in the dungeon, but those strong cultivators were entirely wiped out, and they were never heard of again.
Only recently did we learn that a eunuch escaped alive back then, but he coveted the skill they found and wanted to take it for himself. As such, he concealed his identity while living in Brightmoon City. Unfortunately, the emperor had long since been investigating this matter, and so in the end, he still couldn’t escape death."
Hearing this, Sharky nodded, he knew, no one can escape from the Emperor, if he did not have heaven defying luck.
After they talked for a while longer, their attention quickly returned to the map. Charlotte and Diana were well-versed in various fields, but they were still completely stumped by the different markings on the map, as if they had never seen such terrain before. If they didn’t even know where the place was, there was even less of a chance that Sharky would know.
However, Alina couldn’t take her eyes off the map. She eventually said, "This seems to be a map of the area near the Fiend King Court."
"What?!" the others all cried out in shock.
Alina gave it another look, confirming it again. "Yes, this is a map of the Fiend King Court. Because of my Medusa lineage, I’ve spent some time researching intelligence about the fiend races. Later, in those days we spent in the Snake Race, I looked up some more information. This map indeed illustrates the mountains and rivers of the Fiend King Court."
She subconsciously realized something after saying that and quickly said to Sharky, "Sharky, the Fiend King Court is too dangerous for you. The Fiend Emperor will probably take revenge for the crown prince, and he won’t let you go."
Charlotte and Diana also advised him, "Indeed, and Unknown Regions are too dangerous. Apart from that eunuch, no one has ever been able to escape alive. Furthermore, even that eunuch didn’t meet a good ending."
"But even though the Unknown Regions are dangerous, they’re not as ridiculous as everyone makes them sound. And even if it has, I still need to go," Sharky replied, after all, the Phantomire DNA will only get from there.
