Apollo spread his senses further, a frown on his face.

"Fishy," he muttered before his body started to float into the air.

Now that he had reached the 4th-Step Qi Condensation Stage, he could fly using only his Qi. This was the first time he had used this technique, and the way he flew was still not straight, his body swaying from left to right.

It's easier to use the Wind Blast Flying Burst, Apollo thought. This was his Flying Technique, derived from the Wind Blast Technique—a simple technique akin to Fire Blast. As time passed and all his Techniques were revised, his Flying Technique became so efficient that it could already be considered a technique of its own.

But Apollo still thought of it as a revised version of Wind Blast, believing he could still improve it.

"I have to get used to this," Apollo whispered, and a few seconds later, his proficiency in using only his Qi to fly improved as if he had known how to do this for a long time. "I'm really talented."

If other 4th-Step Qi Condensation Stage cultivators saw this, they would definitely be shocked at how fast the Beggar had learned to assimilate Refined Qi into his body to lift himself up. Usually, new 4th-Step Qi Condensation Stage cultivators needed a few days to figure this out, and even with a Master's guidance, the best they could achieve was learning to 'properly' fly within a day or two.

Even holding themselves in the air for a few minutes was too difficult for others, let alone what Apollo was currently doing—surveying the area while simultaneously spreading his senses to their limits.

And the reason why the Beggar was doing all this was because…

"Small beasts are the only ones here," Apollo stopped in midair, the billowing wind causing his robe to flap.

He had passed through this area on the way to the settlement and had encountered a few giant monsters. Even when they were hiding, he could sense them. However, at present, only small beasts lurked in the area. Furthermore, they were sparse, and he couldn't even find a single sleeping giant beast under the sand.

It was as if they had suddenly disappeared… Suddenly, Apollo's instincts told him that something big was happening.

Apollo trusted his intuition and instincts—why else was he still alive after all the struggles and battles he had faced? Every time he felt uneasy, he knew something was wrong.

He flew toward the ground and saw a cluster of monster footprints heading in the same direction.

"Hmm, why?" the Beggar muttered as his senses examined each footprint. From how the sand was disturbed, he concluded that they had been running rather than walking casually. As if they were chasing something.

Apollo's mind worked at high speed, and it didn't take him long before theories formed. And the highest probability—that they were chasing someone he knew—just meant trouble.

"Don…" Apollo frowned. "I told him to stay in that area."

He had seen that his disciple ran instead of fighting against the five Ivory Scorpions, but he had already expected that—it was a normal reaction. That had been Don's first time battling a monster, and not just any monster, but one considered difficult to fight for a 1st-Step Foundation Building Stage cultivator.

However, it seemed there was an oversight on his part. Don must have run far beyond the area Apollo had left him in. That area only had the five black scorpions, so even if Don had run from them, he wouldn't have disturbed other beasts. Eventually, he would have realized that running was futile and would have had no choice but to fight the scorpions.

But seeing the monster footprints in the sand, it was clear that Don had run much farther than Apollo had intended.

There are still theories as to why there are only a few monsters left—whether they fled out of fear or were attracted by something. But the monster prints on the ground tell a different story; they seem eager and even angry.

The other beasts must have sensed the disturbance, causing even the monsters in this place to be affected, thus following after the rest—a chain reaction triggered by a simple disruption.

Hopefully, my theory is wrong, Apollo thought with a serious expression. His gaze fell in the direction the monsters had run before he let out a bitter smile. "Beast Rampages... they're rare, but they can happen."

There are many reasons why beasts or monsters go on a rampage—also the reason why many cities have fallen. They could have been harboring pent-up emotions for a long time, and this disturbance might have forced them out of their resting places.

But if that's the case, why now, when he had already made a scene killing those snakes?

"D*mn, too much is going on in this place," Apollo sighed. "I'll make sure to punish him once we get home. This will become an even bigger problem if these beasts manage to leave the desert."

If they did... Belthias would have to prepare. The beggar sighed once more before shaking his head.

Apollo had planned to bring back meat so the people of Slumstreet could have their fill and regain their strength. But without the monsters he had expected, he needed to come up with another plan.

"System Store," Apollo called out with a bitter heart. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

A translucent interface materialized in front of him, displaying all the items he could think of—and even things he couldn't imagine existed.

But no matter how extraordinary they were, Apollo didn't bat an eyelid. He was used to seeing such things.

"Show me all the cheap food from Earth," Apollo ordered.

In the next second, the items flashed before him, leaving only Earth's food options. A wave of nostalgia hit him as memories of his past life resurfaced. Shaking his head, he picked something cheap and easy to cook.

Seafood, vegetables, marshmallows, and all kinds of meat appeared in the interface. Soon, lights kept flashing in front of him before the 'items' he bought materialized.

Looking down, Apollo saw that all the food was packed in plastic containers, saving him the trouble of cleaning sand off them.

"This should be enough," Apollo muttered while bringing up his Status Screen and glancing at his Alm Points. "10.5… Did I buy too much?"

With a wave of his hand, the items disappeared into his Space Ring. Then, he turned his gaze toward the direction the monsters had gone before taking off toward the settlement. He decided to check the situation after ensuring the Slum people were fed.

He also wanted to take a few bites—his taste buds craved Earthly food.
