Chapter 80: Chapter 80: Callum’s Lowest Point

Every time he heard a word he hated since his biological mother died, Callum experienced severe trauma that almost made him lose consciousness. Even though his vision was starting to blur, his biological father still didn’t care about his condition. That’s why Callum always considered his father as a stepfather because he had no conscience. When he was in trouble, no one stood up for him or cared for him. If Edith were by his side now, he would definitely ask her for help to calm him down.

Callum was forced to end his conversation with his father before his condition worsened. When he tried to leave the residence, escaping the tiger’s clutches wasn’t easy. Cliff blocked his path with a sinister smile, making his body even more irritated as he faced his greatest enemy.

"Get out of the way!" Callum snapped.

"Actually, I wanted to tell you one more thing before you go home. News of Edith and I’s engagement has been all over social media. You should just give up."

"I don’t want to hear anything from you anymore."

"Since Edith and I’s wedding is about a month away, I suggest you think this over carefully for Erdin’s sake. If you don’t want Erdin to suffer the same fate as you, you should just give up!"

"I won’t hand Erdin over to you. Even if you try to take him by any means necessary, Erdin is still my son."

Cliff made way for his half-brother with a haughty air. "You don’t seem to be feeling well. Okay, you should get some rest."

Now Callum didn’t want to let anyone bother him all day. He’d really hoped Edith would take the initiative to contact him first. However, when he checked his phone on the way home, there wasn’t a single call from Edith. Had the conversation this afternoon been just to cheer him up?

As Callum entered his residence, someone suddenly approached him. Initially, he thought it was Edith, but expectations were different. Instead, it was a woman he hated so much. His expression grew even colder at the arrival of the uninvited guest.

"Why did you come to me?"

"Actually, I just wanted to remind you. I don’t like seeing you still care about another woman. Especially since that woman is now engaged to Cliff. The news is just as trending as our wedding."

"So, your purpose in coming to me now is just to mock me?" His breath became increasingly labored and cold sweat poured down his neck.

"I’m more inclined to make you aware so you won’t be blinded by Edith’s love again. I don’t like marrying a stupid man."

"Then why do you insist on marrying me?" Callum laughed awkwardly, his hands on his hips. "Actually, I still don’t understand why you want to marry me."

"Of course because I love you."

"If you love me, you shouldn’t think I’m stupid."

"You’re a fool just for Edith. Actually, I’m still curious about you. Why are you so crazy about her when she belongs to Cliff?"

"Because Edith loved me sincerely until now."

"But, if she loved you until now, why would she want to leave you?"

"There must be some ulterior motive behind her actions. I’m sure you’re the one who threatened her!"

Meanwhile, Edith was still waiting for news from Callum. It was already nighttime, but Callum hadn’t sent her any messages. She hadn’t even focused on making dinner for her and the twins, nearly cutting her fingers with a knife several times. Was this a sign that her instincts were so strong that something had happened to Callum?

"Callum, what really happened to you? Why haven’t you told me yet?"

Even though she’d done everything today, she couldn’t stop thinking about Callum’s activities all day. She felt like the lunch meeting wasn’t just any ordinary one. Was it time to try contacting Callum?

After cooking dinner for her twins, Edith immediately called her ex-boyfriend. However, the call went unanswered after repeated attempts, causing her to panic. She grew increasingly suspicious that something terrible had happened to her ex. Her lips grew paler, and her guilt grew for constantly causing her ex-boyfriend distress.

While she was serving various side dishes to her twins, Cliff suddenly contacted her. Initially, her smile faded, but now her expression darkened as she desperately hoped Callum would contact her. However, Cliff could be a clue to Callum’s current activities.

"Cliff, what are you calling me for?"

"Do you have time tomorrow to accompany me in looking for a venue for our engagement party?"

"I don’t think I can. Especially since I promised Eliana I’d spend the day with her."

"But this engagement party is important too, Edith. Many important guests are attending our engagement party."

"But, I think the child is more important than the party. If you want to marry me, shouldn’t you care more about the child?" 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

"Okay, I won’t argue with you anymore."

"By the way, what are you doing now?"

"I was relaxing in my room. I didn’t do anything after lunch with my family."

If Cliff wasn’t with Callum anymore, what would Callum be doing? Could it be that Arabella was bothering him now? Edith grew increasingly afraid that Arabella was actually harassing Callum in every way.

"I’ll have dinner with Eliana first, okay?"

Ultimately, Edith decided to end the call quickly to find out Callum’s whereabouts. However, should she try to contact Arabella? She might be considered insane.

The only person who might know where Callum is is Patrick. Edith desperately hopes he’ll at least give her a clue to finding Callum. She’s tried calling Callum over twenty times, but her calls haven’t gone through.

"Patrick, did Callum call you today?"

"No. Actually, I wanted to contact him earlier, but he didn’t respond to me."

"Callum was actually having lunch with his stepfamily today. I’m worried something might have happened to him."

"This is bad, Edith! You have to go to Callum’s house now! You have to save him before it’s too late!"
