After a lengthy conversation with Callum in the living room, Edith felt even more relieved that Callum had promised to tell her the truth. Now all that remained was to resolve this matter quickly. Should she go to Arabella tomorrow to warn her not to bother Callum again? Hearing Callum’s story, which was quite gripping due to Arabella’s insane actions, sent shivers down her spine.

Their conversation continued in the bedroom. Callum continued to recount his experiences in more detail, while also clarifying that the news trending online was not entirely true. Edith heard him nod as she looked at her lover with pity.

"That woman is truly terrifying. She even intended to have you strip her naked."

"That’s why I can’t bring myself to tell you this. Just thinking about it makes me want to vomit."

"So, that’s why you’re reluctant to tell me because you’re traumatizing yourself." Edith rested her head on her lover’s shoulder. "I’m sorry. If I had known from the start that you were traumatized, I wouldn’t have hated you all day."

His brow furrowed in an instant. "Wait a minute! So you’ve been ignoring my calls all day because you hate me? Not because you’re busy, by any chance?"

Edith laughed awkwardly, looking away. "It’s both, actually. I’ve been pretty busy today, and that strange news has been making me a bit confused."

"Next time, I really won’t hide anything from you. It was really annoying when you didn’t answer my calls. I thought you had a grudge against me."

"I won’t. You’re usually too sweet, I can’t bear to hold a grudge against you." Her right hand stroked her lover’s head. "I understand how you feel. How it feels to be nearly violated by a woman you don’t love."

"If I hadn’t fought her when I brought her to the penthouse, I would have kissed her for real. I know she wasn’t actually drunk. In fact, she was still conscious and flaunted her body openly in front of me so I couldn’t control my desires."

"But, in reality, you managed to hold back your desires. If it had been any other man with her at the time, including Cliff, I’m sure they would have been doing it all night."

Callum pressed his nose against the sharp nose in front of him. "I told you before. I’ve never been tempted by other women. I’ve only been tempted by you. In fact, I’ve always been mistaken for gay because I always said I wasn’t interested in women."

"Every time you reject another woman, are you really saying that you are not interested in women?"

A beaming smile returned to his handsome face. "If you heard me like that, would you think I’m insane?"

"Of course. You’re the perfect man in the eyes of every woman. You’re incredibly famous and a role model for businesspeople. In fact, even though you’re not recognized in your family, everyone does." Edith held her lover’s hand. "I’m your number one supporter."

"Edith..."

"I’ll forgive you for the trouble you faced last night. It was indeed very burdensome. But I still won’t forgive you if you keep quiet."

"Since I’ve caused so much trouble now, how about we go on a dinner date tomorrow? I promise I’ll be home early."

Her brow furrowed as she stared at her lover, who remained so relaxed in such a critical situation. "Callum, can you stop thinking about other things for now? Why don’t you focus on solving this problem first?"

"But, I want to have a dinner date with you because I’ve been making you angry all day today."

"I’m more likely to get angry seeing you so casually dealing with this problem."

A heavy sigh escaped her lips. "Today has been the hardest day for me. Everyone’s been talking about me, and even the hotel staff are gossiping about me."

"Today Cliff actually came to me."

In an instant, Callum’s expression turned furious. "What did that bastard do to you? Why would he come to you in this tense situation?"

"Actually, he came to me because he was so worried about me. He ran to me."

Callum smacked his lips in annoyance, grumbling. "I knew he was using this opportunity to win your heart! He really does look so much like Arabella!"

"But, thanks to him coming to me earlier, I was a little bit cheered up."

"So, you prefer him over me?"

Edith lifted her lover’s chin with an intense gaze. "Are you jealous?"

"Of course. I should be the one who should come to you more than he is! I think he came to you just to make fun of you!"

"Actually, he even tried to provoke me." Her arms were wrapped around her lover’s neck. "But you don’t need to worry anymore. I’m not easily swayed by his words because I know you’re a good person."

"So, you won’t hate me anymore from now on?"

"If you don’t hide anything from me anymore, of course I won’t hate you. Besides, for the sake of our twins not feeling awkward when they see us arguing, I don’t want to fight with you anymore."
