Beauty in the beast world-Chapter 250: The talking

"Want me to steal you?’’

Lyra’s eyes narrowed as soon as Xavier said that. His smug look combined with a haughty smirk on his face didn’t help either. Was he flirting with her? She genuinely doubted it due to his past behaviors with her. He had an ice-cold personality similar to the mystic powers that he wielded. So his sudden shift in demeanor meant only one thing. He was mocking her and she didn’t do well with people who tried to mock her. Hence as revenge, she stepped back towards the door before pulling it open.

Kaizer was slow in stopping her and that brought Blake and Noah inside the room. He groaned in displeasure when he saw his bunny going towards her mates and it only grew when he caught sight of the snake beastman encircling his arm around her waist before pulling her towards him.

"Xavier?’’ Noah glanced at Xavier in confusion, "What are you doing here and this....’’ his eyes fell on the one beside him. ’A rootless beastman’ he was quick to sense something amiss with the stranger.

However, that was not the case with Blake. As he already knew of Kaizer, it didn’t take long for him to look at him with a hostile gaze, "Why the hell are you inside our house? You had already kidnapped my mate.....’’

"Kidnapped her?’’ Noah blurted out stopping Blake from speaking further, "What do you mean by that?’’ they had not yet discussed everything that had occurred back in the fox tribe due to Kyrell. Their mate wanted to meet that backstabber as soon as possible which stopped them from asking anything about the things that happened after their mate went missing. But here he was learning about the culprit that had kidnapped their mate. And that made him glare at the rootless beastman, "How dare you.....’’

"Noah, stop’’ his words came to a halt when his mate held his arm stopping him from doing anything hasty. Lyra took a glance at Kaizer before saying, "That person saved my life. If not for him then I might have died due to inhaling the fairy bane’’

"Fairy bane?’’ asked Blake feeling confused about the foreign word. He had never before heard about such a thing in the beast world.

"That...’’ Lyra who was about to say more pursed her lips and stopped talking. Demir’s warning came to her mind. He had told her to not talk about this with anyone even her mates. But she thought otherwise. Lyra didn’t mind telling about Fairy Bane and her weakness to her mates but right now was not the time for that. There were strangers here with them so she didn’t think it was optimal for her to say secrets about her, "I’ll explain about that later to you’’ she said looking up at Blake.

Blake observed his mate’s face and sensed her reluctance through their mate bond, "It’s alright, Lilly’’ he said while rubbing her back soothingly. That word ’Fairybane’ sounded very off so much so that it made him worried. The thing that made them paralyzed and his mate suffer would never be something good. This also made him conflicted with the rootless beastman. He had thought of the latter as someone evil but hearing his mate’s words, it didn’t seem like the case anymore.

However, that still didn’t explain why Kaizer and Xavier were here. In their house. And this time, he decided to ask the fox king about this, "What made you come here, fox king?’’ then his eyes glanced at Kaizer, "And that too with this rootless beastman?’’

Xavier who was silent until now lazily looked at Blake before answering, "And what does that have anything to do with you?’’

"Huh?’’

"I just.....’’ Xavier’s voice trailed off while saying, "I just wanted to take a look inside the rose castle. Isn’t this place known as one of the most beautiful places in the Beast City? I wanted to see if it that was indeed true’’ All the things he had just spouted were utter bullshit. Nothing of his words held the truth but that was all he could come up with at the moment. How the hell was he going to explain his reason for coming here when he himself was not aware of it? It was not like he could say that he had walked here without even knowing. That would label him as a lunatic.

Xavier’s hunch as them reducing him as a lunatic wasn’t that farfetched. Blake didn’t believe the single word that came out of the former’s mouth. Was he really saying that he had come here to see their castle because he heard of its beauty from someone else? That too in this winter when the roses that made this place beautiful were buried deep within the snowy grounds?

Blake was not the only one because even Noah gazed at Xavier as if the latter had grown a horn on his head. How could he not when he heard the latter’s nonsense? Was Xavier, someone that would go to a place just because he heard that place was pretty? Hell no! That was not Xavier that he knew and he doubted that fact to have changed. Because Xavier was someone that not would change.

Whereas Kaizer turned deaf to all the conversations that were happening around him. All of his senses were concentrated on one person that was inside the room. His bunny...he felt fulfilled just gazing at her like this. His heart skipped a beat whenever she cast a glance at him to only turn away the next second as though wanting to hear the talk that was going on. And Kaizer was glad of that. He dreaded that his heart would stop due to extreme happiness if she kept on looking just at him.

That in turn would take away his opportunity of filling his eyes with his bunny’s beautiful figure. How could he continue to see at her if he dies? So the one that never cared about life and death suddenly felt scared of dying and that was due to his bunny.

Lyra on the other hand, completely missed the heated gaze that was on her due to Xavier. His absurd notion made her laugh, "Haha....ha...ha" Was he trying to be funny? Well, it was working. Then she looked at Blake and Noah, "Let it be, we were not here anyway" With that said, she glanced at Xavier, "You can leave now fox king. I hope you enjoyed your little tour"

Those words of hers made Xavier’s lips arch ever so slightly. Was he happy seeing her laugh while she was crying just a few moments ago? That was not the case or so he convinced himself. The realistic explanation for this was that his ego was boosted as he made the female laugh. Yes, this was it! There was nothing else to this. It was not like he cared about whether she cried or laughed.

Blake and Noah likewise felt that it was alright for Xavier to leave. It didn’t seem like he meant any harm to them. But that did not mean they didn’t warn him, "Entering another’s house without their permission is never good, Fox King. We hope you don’t repeat this" If they didn’t owe Xavier for saving the lion cubs, then the matter would have been completely different. Beastmen even of lower rank loathed if someone crossed their territories and took it on as a challenge that would lead to a life-or-death duel.

Now that this matter with Xavier was solved, the duo’s attention shifted to the rootless beastman. To their displeasure, both of them realized about the latter’s gaze on their mate. The rootless beast-man’s eyes seemed to be stuck on her without any intention of moving away.
