Beastmen: She Tames the Land-Chapter 94: The laws they created
Visha was right. That morning, everyone woke up talking about what they could use as core rules. There were all kinds of opinions. Some were in disagreement with a certain aspect of the rule. Others were in total agreement.
The conversation flowed around the caldera, but everyone was still doing the work they needed to do.
When everyone gathered for lunch, it was decided that they would spend the rest of the day dealing with the laws of the pack. Since most of the things were already done, only finishing touches were needed.
According to what they talked about yesterday, the first law was written. The laws are written in such a way that should the pack become larger, the wording of the laws would not need to change. As such, they used the word tribe instead of pack.
1. The tribe sustains those who sustain it
Visha explained the meaning. "This means everyone has a responsibility to contribute to the survival of the tribe. But it also means that the tribe needs to help those who are unable to help themselves. For example, if someone is sick or injured. Since they are still a part of the tribe, the tribe will help. After illness or recovering from injury, you are still expected to help the tribe in whatever way you can."
2. The strength of one is the strength of all
This time, Uri spoke. "When mentioning the hunt and what belongs to whom, this is the way we will do it. There are two types of prey. Large prey will be divided among everyone. The smaller prey can belong to the individual. What you catch during hunting times is for the pack to be distributed. What you hunt on your personal time is your own."
Some were uncomfortable with the rule, but they understood the need for such a thing. Especially when Visha noted that she would keep some meat for winter times. That way, they wouldn’t need to do large bulk hunting so close to winter.
3. Justice belongs to the Tribe leader and Priest/Priestess
"There should be no feuds, brawls, or revenge. If there are any grievances, you can take them to the tribe leaders and myself. If a law is broken, we will determine the next course of action. We will endeavour to be fair and just and our word is final," Visha said.
These are the three core laws that were set up. Other minor laws included: 1. Baskets and other tools are to be placed in the communal shed. Personal items are kept at home. 2. The central fire pit is for communal cooking. Small, individual fires can be made at home. 3. Gates are to be closed at sunset. They should not be opened after dark unless the tribe leaders give a direct order. 4. All drinking water is to come from the main lake. No one should drink from the small streams or puddles. 5. Animal scraps and waste must be taken to a designated heap on the far side of the calders and buried. 6. The central stone is only for official ceremonies, blessings, or community meetings.
After the laws have been written down. The pack members smiled more widely. This was another step on the road to them becoming a true tribe.
Visha looked at the system. She saw her EXP was almost to 1000, and the CP she had previously lost was almost back to the original.

She also decided to take a look at the Tribe Management tab that she had recently gotten. When she saw it, her eyes almost fell out of her head. She didn’t expect it to be like this.
She saw icons for the square, the gates, the warehouse and the houses. She saw the Tiger tribe information. Where it mentioned their relationship with the Tiger tribe, it was registered as hostile.
The laws they had recently made were there. It included the farm they were trying to expand and the house that hadn’t yet been finished. It listed the things in the warehouse.
Visha also noticed that she could click on each member individually. It showed their role, potential and status. There was, of course, the number of people in the pack, their morale and so on.
She never expected it would have all this information.
While she was still marveling at the amount of information she could see with the pack member, they were doing something else entirely.
Uri and Xeno were talking to the pack members. They were trying to figure out where to keep the laws. They knew keeping them on bark wouldn’t work, so they had to find something else.
Kaelen volunteered to fly over the caldera to find something. It wasn’t until almost evening that he was able to find a flat slab of granite. It was on a lower ledge, but it would take some time for them to get to it.
The pack was in a hurry to get something and write down their laws. The excitement was somewhat contagious. They felt a sense of purpose again.
They used ironwood logs to roll the slab off the ledge. It took a lot of strength to both push and pull the slab. They needed to ensure they didn’t make it roll all the way down the wall and then shatter.
Their claws dug into the earth as they pulled at certain sections. The logs they used went from small to large. They rotated them as needed.
Because of how long it took, the females decided they would bring them males some food. Willa, Visha, and Chi went up the hill to give food. Heta did not follow because she was pregnant.
Even if her body is better than a regular human’s, she still needs to be careful.
When the slab was finally settled near the square, everyone cheered.
"Krag, would it be possible for you to etch the laws for us?" Visha was a little embarrassed to ask because one of the reasons she asked was that she knew Krag could shift freely.
When she asked, she saw Krag smile. She pursed her lips and turned to look at Chi. Chi was smiling and looking at Krag, nudging him to go forward.
Krag walked up to the slab. He shifted his right hand just enough for him to use his claws to etch the words into the stone.
Xeno read the laws while Krag etched. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Unlike the others, who had just learned to read and write. It was obvious that Krag had always had the knowledge. His symbols were powerful. They cut deep into the stone.
When he was done, he stepped back. Everyone took the time to set the slab upright. A sense of pride swelled in their heart.
Seeing the slab with their laws, they were beginning to feel like they were a part of a greater plan.
