Chapter 63: The Journey Continues

Waking up the next morning, Visha found herself covered with furs.

She wasn’t sleeping with the pack. She was in the same room as last night. Xeno and Uri are on both sides of her. She looked at them; the two had already woken up and were looking at her. She didn’t say anything, unsure of how to proceed.

She truly didn’t expect what happened yesterday.

She moved slightly, expecting to feel pain. There was only a dull throb where they bit her.

"I’m sorry," Xeno said as he felt her move. He buried his face in her neck. "We shouldn’t have done that yesterday."

"We felt...irrelevant," Uri said as he traced the mark on Visha’s neck.

Visha pulled them closer, "I’m sorry," she said. "I forgot to consult you, and that wasn’t right of me. I don’t want either of you feeling like I don’t want you. I trust you completely. I promise to never let anything like last night happen again. If it does, then you can fuck me into submission again." Visha laughed lightly, knowing she actually meant it.

"If you still want to ask, we can go talk to them now." Visha offered.

Both shook their heads.

"Trust goes both ways. We do not like the fact that you trust them. But we are willing to believe there is a reason you trust them."

Visha rolled her eyes, "Someone suddenly became wise after tormenting me last night."

Visha felt a low mood hit her and stared at Uri. She was shocked for a moment before she said, "I’m joking. Why are you feeling down?"

A wave of excitement hit her in the next second, sending her reeling. She looked at Xeno, wondering why he was excited.

"Did you feel it?" Xeno asked quickly, searching Visha’s eyes.

"Felt that you were excited. Of course, I felt it," Visha shook her head.

Uri and Xeno shared a glance.

"Sha’mīn," he said softly. "You can feel us."

"Of course, I can feel you. Is that something new?"

Uri laughed, "You can feel us like we feel you. Xeno’s excitement is his regular state of mind. He would get excited if you blew on him hard enough."

Visha took in what Uri was saying.

It wasn’t just intense emotions anymore. She could feel what they were feeling just from a slight emotional change. Her eyes widened. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"Is this what you were talking about when you said you feel me?" Visha asked, astonished.

Uri nodded.

"Then wasn’t I an open book to you two?" she said, startled.

"More or less," Xeno shrugged like this was normal.

Which it was, for them. But not for Visha.

"But why did this happen now? I couldn’t feel it before," Visha asked, biting her lips. Her anxiety rolled over Uri and Xeno, who kissed her on the cheek in response.

"I think it might be because of the bite," Uri suggested. "I remember I was mid shift when I bit you, and if I saw correctly, so were you and Xeno. That might have done something."

Visha was shocked. She could feel their emotions now.

She got over her shock quickly, however. This is how it was supposed to be in the first place. She didn’t need to hide things and wonder how they would feel about it. She would know the moment she felt it.

"Okay," Visha said, accepting the newness of it all. "Since everything is settled, we need to leave now. Maybe we can come back when Nimo is older, see if he can see the yellow things again."

Xeno stood up, pulling Visha to her feet. Uri followed. The three packed up and went to meet the rest of the pack. It was early, and they should be eating now.

When they met everyone, they talked about their desire to leave. If there was anything that needed doing, they could leave at noon. If everything was alright, they would leave after everyone was finished packing.

The consensus was that they had nothing to do. And while they would like to stay in such a steady place for a while longer, it was not home. They were still on the path to finding their home.

As they left the ruins, no one looked back. This was a temporary shelter that helped them, but they needed to move on. This led to them missing the scene of the ruins shimmering with a golden light before disappearing from view.

After leaving, they noticed the road ahead was filled with life. It was more vibrant now than a few days ago. Spring was already doing what it needed to do. Replenish the things lost in the winter. The world grew greener, the air warmer, and the promise of tomorrow was etched on their faces

At noon, when they paused for lunch, Uri took out an old piece of hide he had started using as a map. From his memory, he mapped the places he had been, along with what he had seen on a map when he was younger and still in the Snake Tribe.

He traced their path meticulously. Xeno, who was scouting ahead, returned his silent form moving through the trees.

Visha smiled, a low rumble in her chest. She has become more aware of the sounds she makes because of her wolf. She doesn’t restrict herself. She knows there will be a day when she and her wolf will become one. Just like Xeno and Uri.

For now, she will enjoy the duality.

Uri rolled up his map, "If we continue this way, we should be able to enter the eastern central part of the continent. We still have a section of mountain we need to pass, but from there, we should be seeing plains and river valleys."

Visha had her own system map. She got 1% of the world map as a reward, but it barely covers anything. It also doesn’t cover the area they are walking. So for now, she can only see where she has been with the map. Which is why she was so grateful to Uri for his mapping skills.

Visha nodded, smiling at Uri. "According to what you said, we should be seeing some small tribes soon."

"Yes, we will need to be wary. We will not look for a fight, but we will fight if necessary," Uri said, his sharp eyes looking out on the horizon.

"I don’t mind fighting," Xeno said, appearing from the underbrush as if by magic.

"You never mind fighting," Uri said marrowing his eyes.

Xeno shifted, standing there naked, and wrapped his arm around Uri’s shoulder. "You know me so well."

Visha shook her head at their antics.

After lunch, the journey continued.
