Beastmen: She Tames the Land-Chapter 218: Seduction
Visha’s transaction has been complete but Uri and Xeno’s were just beginning. The man in front of them had a smile on his face. He wasn’t an aggressive beauty. His charm made people feel warm. They would feel the need to get close to him.
"What would you like to trade?"
"If possible, we want all three of the materials you have. As for how much we can trade, you can let us know."
Xeno felt that since this man was willing to trade, he didn’t need to think too much about the female’s attitude towards him. He could see it wasn’t them personally. All the females at the stall seemed adept at moving a beastman’s body.
He didn’t say heart, because what they wanted wasn’t a partner they were looking to mate. He could tell from the numerous bulges of the beastmen around him.
If he hadn’t two mates himself, he would think they were beautiful. But in his eyes, his two mates were more beautiful than any of the people he had encountered.
He felt the buzz of the bond and felt Uri’s possessiveness. He couldn’t help the jolt that went to his crotch causeing a bulge of his own. What he didn’t realize was that the man in front of him saw the bulge and thought Xeno had taken a liking to him.
He was proud, while Xeno was still in his fantasy.
Uri cleared his throat. "Is there a place we can talk? I think others might want to trade, and we are hindering them."
The man who was looking at Xeno’s chub turned his eyes to Uri. Meeting the cold eyes, he shivered slightly, but still welcomed them into a large tent they had set up near their stall.
Entering, they saw more fabrics inside. There were also a few more women and men lazing about. Had it been anyone else, they might have been mesmerized by all the beauty around them. Xeno and Uri, however, appeared immune.
The three of them found a quiet corner. In Xeno and Uri’s mind it is to discuss business. In the mind of this man, he was seducing. Why would a tribe base its entire being on seduction? Because it makes them stronger.
It might sound baseless to others, but to this fox clan, they had been taught that seduction makes them stronger. It has been proven. There have been men and women through countless years who have become stronger every time they seduce a person. It doesn’t have to be sex.
A simple touch would be enough to siphon some of their energy. This tribe has tried multiple ways to gain energy without seduction. They can do so through friendship and other genuine connections.
However, they have found that what truly strengthens them is seduction. The effect of lust and sex on their bodies is another level. The only drawback is that the feeling needs to be directed towards them.
Even if someone has sex in front of them, if some of that lust isn’t directed towards them, they get nothing from it.
This festival is a breeding ground of lust for them. They can play among the flowers. And right now, the flowers are Uri and Xeno.
"You may call me, Failan." He gestured to three seats where they could sit. "Now that there are no distractions. Tell me, how would you like to trade with us?"
He leaned forward, his barely concealed chest now visible.
"YouYou, I think he’s trying to seduce me." Xeno, having sat down, was no longer in lalaland. Finally noticed what Uri had noticed this entire time.
"Stop calling me youyou."
"But you like it."
Uri had no comeback. If he denied it, both he and Xeno would know he was lying. Their bond made it hard to lie to each other. It was just a matter of whether they were willing to give way to each other.
"Failan..." Uri’s eyes grew sharp. "I would appreciate it if you did not try to seduce my mate."
Uri was being quite frank. Once again, Uri thought to himself that if they weren’t at this festival, he would rip Failan limb from limb. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Failan only faltered momentarily before regaining his composure. Uri and Xeno saw it, and they were mildly impressed. There aren’t many people who can recover so quickly from Uri’s steely eyes.
"Your mate," Failan asked flatly. He looked between the two men. He wasn’t amazed at two men being together. He was amazed; he used the word mate.
Few people or tribes would use the word mate on the Beast Continent. This fox clan was one such tribe. They use seduction as a weapon, but their years of knowledge made them more aware than most of what a mate was.
That was one bond they did not touch. Not because they couldn’t, but because they shouldn’t. Finding a mate is a lifelong matter. It was nothing like the partners they knew so many tribes kept. A mate was something else entirely.
Those of their fox clan who were mated were some of the strongest people in the clan. Hearing that the two were mates, he was now curious about what tribe they came from. The thoughts he had about Xeno wanting him had already begun to fade. But he was curious and asked.
"How are you, mates? I clearly saw his body react to me."
"Me?" asked Xeno, pointing to himself. "I didn’t react to you. I reacted to him. He was jealous."
Failan nodded numbly. He understood now. He had misunderstood what was happening. Since there was no way to use them, he thought he might as well strike up a trade. They were indeed looking for trade partners. But the concept of getting stronger comes first. Since he had no way to do it, he would deal with them, then find someone else.
Failan leaned back, now all business. "How would you like to trade?"
"What would make it worthwhile for you? I am not sure what your tribe enjoys. We have spices, flour, salves, things for beauty. I believe foxes such as yourself would not mind things that would enhance your beauty."
"You are correct to believe so. If there is such a thing, we wouldn’t mind proceeding with the trade. Do you have any now?"
Failan was curious about what beauty products they might have.
Uri and Xeno were lucky. They had not intended to take these things from Visha. She insisted. Since they were going to people who had silk and cotton, they might not be interested in these things. The next best solutions were healing salves and beauty products.
Uri took a few small jars from his pouch. "This is a healing salve. It is for scars and burns. Depending on the severity of the scar, multiple doses may be needed. This one," he stretched out his hand for Failan to take it, "is lotion. It evens skin tone and leaves your skin glowing and dewy. There are a few other but we do not have them at the moment."
Failan looked at the small jars. They were only palm-sized. He opened one, and the fragrance hit his nostrils. The healing salve had the scent of herbs. It was faint, but with his sense of smell, he could smell it. It was quite refreshing.
The lotion also had a fragrance. It smelled of flowers. The smell wasn’t overpowering. It left a person feeling calm.
"These smell amazing. I assume a female in your tribe made it. How did she come up with these things?"
Xeno’s chest swelled with pride. A smile curled liltingly on Uri’s face.
"This was made by our mate," Xeno announced proudly.
"Mate? Another mate?" Failan was confused. He had only ever heard of two people being mates; three was...strange. He even thought they had lied to him. Lying about mates isn’t something one should do. Mates are sacred.
Uri, seeing the changes in Failan’s attitude, knew what he was thinking.
"We are mates, the three of us. You seem to have an understanding of what a mate is. We wouldn’t lie about such a thing. It is strange to you. It was strange to me at first. But we are all, all three of us, mates."
Seeing Uri speak so steadily and calmly. Failan had to wonder if he didn’t truly understand mates. If three people could be mates, had they denied the three people in their tribe the happiness they deserved?
He thought back to the trio in their tribe. They were close. They spoke to the tribe leader, telling the leader they had feelings for each other. The tribe leader thought they were trying to become partners. Partnering is fine until you find your mate.
But there was an incident. Both were out, and one was hurt. The person in the tribe felt it and had people run to assist. They found that the two were mates. The third was forced to keep away. No matter how the other two protested, they refused to allow them to be together.
All three are at the festival. The tribe leader was determined that she would find a partner for her. Failan wondered if he needed to speak to the tribe leader.
