Chapter 210: A small fight

Spiritfang still didn’t take them seriously, but seeing their large lion forms, they felt a little excited. The first fight they had was a mindless, undying thing; they were fighting to kill. This time, it was just for fun.

Visha heard them deciding in pack-line who would fight whom. She shook her head, amused. The one fight seemed to have set them off, and now they want to fight everyone.

Being nudged, Gorn looked at the person nudging him. "Are your friends going to be okay?"

Gorn chuckled. "You should ask if the lions will be okay."

Gorn saw the incredulous look on his friend’s face. He shook his head. He thought they would show their strength sooner or later.

It was the same on Mira’s side. They were talking to one of their allies when they asked if they needed to step on. Mira let them know it wasn’t necessary.

The crowd watched as the lion shifter’s bodies grew, towering over the half-shifter in the tribe. Their curiosity was immense. The half-shifters weren’t panicking, which made them curious, but that didn’t rule out the fact that they might be scared.

Lining up with the 6 lion shifters, 6 half-shifters stepped out. This was a face-off. If they were considered weak, they would never have a place in the festival. They would most likely be trampled on for however long the festival lasted.

The rest of the tribe stepped back, taking their belongings with them. Some sat on the ground a distance away, laughing and talking. It enraged the lion shifters. They thought they weren’t being taken seriously.

The onlookers saw them being carefree and wondered why they appeared so confident. Were they so strong that they just didn’t care? Then, the fight began.

The twelve people met head-on. The first half-shifter threw a punch while the lion shifter swiped his claw, in an attempt to disembowel the half-shifter.

The shifter dodged, and his fist met the lion’s shoulder. There was a crack, and the lion staggered back. It tried to put pressure on the leg and found he was unable to stand.

The second lion lunged, but before he could make a move, he was met with the half-shifter’s kick. It sent him flying back into some trees.

This kind of scene continued until the sixth lion was lying limply on the ground, unconscious.

The crowd of onlookers was so astonished that they didn’t make a sound. Seeing the large lion shifters being taken down by a punch or kick was unbelievable.

They had never seen something like that before.

"Told you they didn’t need help," Gorn’s voice sounded in the quiet. His laugh echoed.

Everyone heard what he said. His friend beside him couldn’t believe it.

Actually, Gorn himself couldn’t believe it. When they were fighting those creatures from before, it looked much harder for them.

The lion tribe just now was like children playing with toys. If not for his sensibilities, he would want to take back his word about not joining their tribe.

Xeno stepped forward, under everyone’s gaze. "If you can’t find a campsite, come find us. If you can win, we’ll give it to you."

Visha sent a link through the pack. "I don’t think you’ll find anyone who wants to fight after what you all just did."

The six looked sheepish. The others looked at the six.

"We didn’t know they were that weak. We really didn’t expect it."

That statement sparked another discussion about how weak they were and whether they used their entire strength.

The crowd saw the tribe laughing. Some had their instincts screaming to challenge them. But their rational self knew they wouldn’t be able to beat them.

And looking at the lion, who was still down. They didn’t want to end up like them, so they kept their thoughts to themselves.

Just as abruptly as the silence descended, it dispersed. Once they got over their shock, everyone started talking about it. They wondered if the lions would be able to handle the humiliation.

"Do you think I should heal them?" Visha asked Uri and Xeno.

"Do it discreetly. Some will notice. As long as everyone does not." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Visha nodded and walked to the lion closest to her. She began healing them one by one. Touching only the wound on their bodies.

Some people started watching the moment Visha stepped towards the lion shifter. They could see her touching each of them, then nodding to two male half-shifters.

Some assumed she was checking if they were alive. Because, since they had fallen, none of the lions had gotten up. They hadn’t even shifted back to their human form.

The half-shifters in the different tribes would look over to Visha and the others from time to time. Seeing them laughing and talking together, they wanted to go over.

A few brave half-shifters did go over to talk to them. They were from different tribes. They did not show the inferiority some of the other half-shifters had shown.

"Can you teach us to fight like that? a bear half-shifter asked. The excitement on his face made it hard to be mean.

"Sorry, we can’t. Only people from our tribe can learn to fight like us."

"Can’t you just teach us?" a young girl replied. Her arrogance was so strong that it carried a stench.

No one paid attention to her. They had no time for someone like this. They were more than happy, however, to talk to everyone...but her.

"If you want, we can spar, but I can’t teach you tribe things."

This was directed at the bear half-shifter. Uri and Xeno, the two leaders, had told them they could spar with other shifters and half-shifters. But vital energy knowledge is off limits.

They aren’t here to isolate themselves. So if someone wanted a few pointers, that’s fine. It meant they were socializing. And in any world, having more friends means having more options.

So a few half-shifters could be seen learning how to fight.
