Chapter 321: Chapter 320: You Sound So Scary, We’re So Scared

Her small, high-pitched voice was surprisingly piercing, and her shout instantly drew everyone’s attention.

The older cubs on the shore ignored the adult males with them, their gazes fixed on a group of impossibly tiny cubs. They were utterly exasperated. ’Are our little brothers and sisters here just to be a joke and get themselves killed?’

Meanwhile, the Winged Dragon cubs in the water were roaring with laughter, splashing wildly. "Whoa, look at those tiny cubs! I’m afraid one little splash would send them crying for their Father and Mother..."

"Careful not to break their bones! Tsk, tsk. Hey, aren’t you adults watching them? What if they get hurt? You’ll just come crying to our parents, won’t you?"

"This is a matter for us big cubs. You little ones go play somewhere else. I’m afraid I don’t know my own strength—I might accidentally kill one of you..."

Just as they said that, one of the Winged Dragon cubs caught a baboon cub on the shore off guard, coiled its tail around him, and flung him far into the water.

The baboon cub landed in the water, completely dazed. He thrashed about, crying out in panic, before finally coming to his senses and trying to swim back to shore.

But with a slap of their tails, the Winged Dragon cubs sent a wave that pushed the baboon cub further away. As if they’d discovered a new game, they started treating him like a ball, taking turns smacking the water with their tails to see who could wash him farther out.

The resistance in the water was already strong, and the current was deep and turbulent. Although the rain had stopped, water was now rushing toward lower ground, creating dangerous, gushing currents and eddies.

Before long, the baboon cub was starting to lose his strength. The cubs on the shore paced anxiously, and a few ran off to get the adults.

Suddenly, the surface of the water began to churn, and a powerful wave tossed the baboon cub back onto the shore. He lay there, completely drained, gasping for breath.

Meanwhile, the Winged Dragons in the water were caught in a series of whirlpools, flailing and screaming in confusion.

Xuyou stepped forward, planted her hands on her hips, and huffed, "So, you’re the big kids who like to bully my little brother, huh? Got some nerve, don’t you? You should go ask around and find out just who I, Xuyou, am."

"I have eight younger siblings and one older brother! The spit from each one of us is enough to drown you!"

She said this with complete confidence. After all, her little brother, Xiao Ba, could shoot water like a water gun just by opening his mouth. ’And this huge wave,’ she thought, ’must have been his doing.’

"If you’ve got the guts, come up here and fight us one-on-one! What’s the point of making a racket in the water? Don’t tell me you think this flood is going to last forever? Use your brains! Once the water recedes, you’d better be ready for us to gang up on you... Or maybe someone here holds a grudge. They’ll just dedicate themselves to Cultivation, and when they grow up, they’ll beat you so bad you won’t know where your teeth went..." 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

The adult males glanced at Xuyou’s fierce display, then at Si Shuo, who was watching with clear relish. ’It seems these two got all the sharp tongues in the family.’

The tiny little cub was so fiercely adorable. Anyone who didn’t know better would have mistaken her for a tigress cub. Who would have guessed she was just a little Youyou Horned Deer Cub!

And yet, inspired by her, the other little cubs in their family stood firmly behind her like a row of little cannonballs, their faces filled with righteous indignation.

"Don’t think you’re so great just because you can swim and fly! If we all team up, we could dig you out even if you burrowed into the earth! We’d dig up eight generations of your ancestors while we’re at it... You want to know why the Winged Dragon Clan is in decline? It’s all because you’ve grown up rotten. You’re supposed to be Divine Beasts, but instead you spend all day doing petty, sneaky things. You’re so small-minded and short-sighted, it’ll be a miracle if any of you ever amount to anything..."

"If you don’t pull yourselves together and start acting right, you won’t just fail to become true dragons—you’ll probably end up as pathetic worms..."

The Winged Dragon cubs listened to the little female’s tirade, every word hammering into their heads until they ached. They struggled out of the churning water and began to furiously flap their wings.

A Winged Dragon’s Beast Form is quite large, and the flapping of their wings could stir up a powerful gale. The smaller cubs were blown about, stumbling and struggling to stay upright.

Xuyou quickly led her younger siblings to grab hold of their Fathers’ legs.

Even the usually good-tempered Xue Zhu was so angry her silver-white hair seemed to stand on end. "They’re such bullies! So obnoxious as kids—how can they possibly turn out any better when they’re older?"

’If I weren’t so small that the Winged Dragon cubs didn’t even notice me, and if Father and Mother hadn’t forbidden me from using my superpower casually,’ she fumed, ’I’d definitely teach these smug flying bugs a lesson they’d never forget.’

The Winged Dragons, however, just started showing off again, laughing smugly as they flapped their wings even harder:

"Not only can we swim, but you can’t do a thing to us when we’re flying! Little things like sparrows and parrots? We just blow them away. They can’t even get close..."

"Go on, team up! Ooh, you sound so scary! We’re terrified..."

"Yelp! Yelp! Yelp!" Youyou was so furious she couldn’t even form words, resorting to cursing in her beast tongue. Si Shuo couldn’t understand it, but she had a distinct feeling the curses were incredibly foul.

Ji Liang suddenly looked down and saw a cold, gloomy aura around Sweet Ring as she muttered, "Then... let’s have... a storm. Let’s see... if you... can flap harder... or if nature’s... power... is more shocking!"

The moment she finished speaking, a tornado came spinning toward them from the distance. It reached them in the blink of an eye, and the immense power of nature left every Beastman frozen in place. Their legs felt rooted to the ground; all they could do was watch, stunned.

The tornado’s suction was incredibly powerful. The muddy floodwaters and, along with them, the handful of Winged Dragon cubs still showing off in the sky, were all swept up toward the heavens!

The tornado didn’t come straight for the shore. After snatching up the Winged Dragon cubs, it made a sharp turn and receded into the distance.

The cubs on the shore collapsed to the ground. "That scared me to death! I thought I was going to be swept away..."

"That was terrifying! It’s better to stay at home in weather like this. What’s the point of flying? If you run into a waterspout like that, you can’t even escape..."

"Hmph! Let’s see them act arrogant now! It must have been the Beast God. He couldn’t stand watching them and decided to teach them a lesson!"

At once, the cubs’ fear turned to joy. The Winged Dragon cubs had been too full of themselves and got swept away by the wind. It served them right.

Soon, the commotion died down. Si Shuo couldn’t help but sigh; she also found the tornado bizarre, almost as if someone had controlled it. She turned to look at Xu Chi, but his expression was perfectly calm.

Ji Liang let out a low chuckle and tucked a listless Sweet Ring into her arms. "It was this little one letting off some steam for her brothers and sisters."

Si Shuo was startled. She quickly glanced around and whispered, "What do you mean?"

She looked down and met a pair of small, azure-blue eyes that looked equally muddled and deeply fatigued.

Ji Liang set up a Protective Shield so that only their family could hear, then explained what had just happened.

"Was that a Wind Ability?" Si Shuo asked uncertainly.

Xu Chi shook his head. "I don’t think so. The Wind Ability has Levels. Sweet Ring isn’t even two months old; it’s impossible for her to wield such a powerful wind right from the start."

Xiao Cheng raised an eyebrow. "With Sweet Ring, it seems more like a rare superpower, one that can’t be defined by standard Levels."

"Then... is it the Natural Summoning Technique? The kind that can command all five elements?" Si Shuo pursed her lips, continuing to guess.

Ji Liang looked down, gently poked Sweet Ring with his finger, and asked with a smile, "Little one, do you know what it is?"

The little one shook her head repeatedly, her expression still completely blank. She even asked back, "Father, that wind just now... did Sweet Ring summon it?"

Well, that settled that. It was as if they hadn’t said a thing.
